The glaring double standard aside, Reid spoke the absolute truth as did Geraldine Ferraro when she said, “If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position”, as did Joe Biden when he said that Obama was “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy”, and as did Bill Clinton when he said, “‘A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.”

Republicans need to read Ayn Rand’s thoughts on “the sanction of the victim”…and understand how the Democrats always use the Republicans’ own virtue against them.

Anyway, this whole frenzy is just a distraction from nationalized health care which is about to be crammed down our collective throats. The House meets Tuesday, my friends and this is no time to get distracted.

Reid should not be ALLOWED to step down. I think this is a set up, an excuse to move an extremely unpopular POS out of a leadership position to prep for the next election cycle. He is a mill stone. . . let them keep wearing it.

John Cooper, your comments are right on the money. Every time we have serious issues to contend with, the MSM attempts to distract us with this Jr. High School level BS of “Did you hear what Johnny said about Susie in homeroom this morning?” This is the week that we need to be jamming the congress’ switchboard regarding this “health care” fiasco. The number is (202) 224-3121. Ask to speak to your congressman or senator and let them know that you will vote to add them to the ever growing ranks of the unemployed if they do not do everything in their power to stop this legislation.

Thanks for the kind words Palmetto Mike. If the management will tolerate a bit of shameless self-promotion, perhaps you and others might like to read my latest thoughts on health care at Joanie’s blog: Allegiance and Duty Betrayed.

I like LTC West’s take on this:

Lt Colonel Allen West, great American and candidate for Congress (and my candidate for President 2012), responded here: “Friends, attached is my response to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s comments, which I consider incredibly vile”.

“The revelation of Senator Harry Reid’s comments referencing “negro talk” is just indicative of the true sentiment elitist liberals, and indeed the Democratic party, have toward black Americans. The history of the Democrat party is one of slavery, secession, segregation, and now socialism. It is this new aged socialism born from the Johnson Great Society programs that have castigated blacks as victims needing government dependency. One need only to look upon the city of Detroit to ascertain what liberal social welfare policies have produced for the inner city…..the new plantation for black Americans.

The Ku Klux Klan was birthed by the Democrats as a terrorist wing to intimidate blacks, and whites, who sought to promote economic and education independence and social justice for blacks. What was once overt has just morphed and become covert, yet still exists..

One can only imagine the insanity and media outrage if Reid’s quote had come from a member of the Republican party. I look forward to hearing from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton on Reid’s comments……..or has liberal hush money paid for the silence of these proprietors of poverty and victimization theory.. Actually, if President Obama had any courage he would demand Reid step down as Senate Majority Leader, and discontinue any support for his Senate reelection…….notice I said “if”. I am quite sure the Sorosmoney which elevated Obama to the position of President has bought his servitude.

Why am I running for US Congress as a Republican, simple, I would rather stand proudly and be called “Uncle Tom and Sellout” than lose my self-esteem and be considered an inferior by liberals. I understand the legacy of the GOP and the black community….not that revisionist history espoused by liberal educators. I am not, shall never be, and will not raise my daughters to be a part of the liberal 21st century plantation. I am not just some articulate, clean, good speaking negro. I am an American warrior, Congressional candidate, and shall never submit to the collective progressive ideal of inferiority.

Senator Harry Reid’s comments are disgusting, despicable, and unacceptable. They are representative of how intellectual elite liberals do indeed speak of black Americans in their closed private spaces. Next week I have been invited to NYC to address the Hudson Institute, a conservative organization, conference on “Reclaiming American Liberty”. That invite came to me because I took advantage of the opportunities this great Republic offered. I followed the guidance of my parents and set my standards above all others around me. I speak well and have impeccable communicative skills because my Father and Mother prioritized that quality.

I shiver to think what my future could have been if I listened to the insidious rhetoric of charlatans such as Harry Reid, and the ambassadors of affirmative action who reside in the Congressional Black Caucus.

Sure, the “stuck on stupid” blacks are going to address me in derogatory names, but I possess something which they lack; Honor, Integrity, and Character. To them I say, continue to be slaves to the liberals for your vote…….and in a year you will be calling me Congressman West.

Steadfast and Loyal,
LTC(R) Allen B West

100 hours for Obama to say something about the attempted terrorist bombing, less than 16 hours for him to say something about Reid…

Almost 48 hours for him to say saomthing about the Fort Worth shootings, less than 4 hours to say something about “that stupid cop” in Boston.

Priorities.

Words like that from any dimocrat should be accompanied by a yawn. At this point, we should let Harry shoot himself in the foot and tell Steele to step down. He’s totally useless at this point!

Stop the hypocrisy!

Steele should step down NOW!

The folks in Nevada will take care of Reid.

And think about it! Do you want to chance somebody competent taking over the Senate. Come on now, be serious.

It looks like the lamestream media is trying to poison the Tea Party supporters by convincing them the GOP is taking control of it, when in reality; it is a majority of republicans who are part of the Tea Party with little concern for what the GOP thinks one way or another. The GOP has let us down since Reagan, having rebelled against Reagan’s policies. Be the “go to” person Rush spoke of. See claysamerica.com for the roots of what separates us. Claysamerica.com

OT thanks for the post, LtC West sounds like a man that could be an inspiration to all Americans. I appreciate the fact that he doesn’t want his daughters to be part of th 21st Century Liberal Plantation, stirring words indeed!

The plantation system is the basis for Obama’s Socialism, the Massa’ takes care of all the needs of his underlings: all they must do is obey, be loyal, do a little work, and not run off.

The day the GOP can do better than 20% support from minority voters is the day they can lecture the Dems about which party is racist. Remember — Stormfront.com endorsed the GOP candidate, not the candidate of the “racist” Dem party.

That you people don’t understand what is offensive about referring to a “liberal plantation” and “massa” also explains why you always tend the side with the drunken idiot frat boys (or Young Republican leaders) who do something racists and get called out on it. And both explain why minority voters and college educated White voters of all ages treat the GOP like it is a leper colony.

In fact, given that there are NO elected Black GOPers in Congress, no Asians and only what . . . three Hispanics GOPers . . . shouldn’t y’all really be dealing with your own racial issues in your party, before castigating the party where 80% of the country’s minorities hang their hats? You know, the one that just selected then elected a Black president? Er YEAH!

INRE billy bob:

I got a retired judge, temporarily sitting in on assignment, under serious peer pressure to recuse himself for demonstrated personal bias with his constant referral to me as “you people” simply by my providing the court transcripts and a cover letter to state offices. He did… first order of business of the docket that day. Shall we discuss bias? Something you demonstrate quite adequately with your every comment.

Beware of those across the courtroom aisle who recognize your intent and snide personal assaults… and use the knowledge of our rights against you. And as you are well aware, only those who know their rights may claim them.

BTW, were you equally vocal and incensed at Hillary’s 2006 remark, accusing the GOP of running the WH like a “plantation”? Or is that one of those words that you 1st Amendment types believe is reserved only for a select group of Americans? Your thin skin is nothing short of politically amusing.

No black Congressional conversatives serving. Yes… I do miss JC Watts. Always enjoy hearing from him via the media exposure. And looking forward to Ltc. Allen West’s entry quite soon as well. He’s the only one I do happen to have a “gung ho” ‘tude towards.

I might also say that I have great respect for Steele as RNC chair.

But then, we can only elect those who choose to run. ’tis a pity more do not choose to serve. But it’s certainly not that black Conservatives do not exist. Makes you wonder how Glenn Beck managed to find an audience comprised of nothing but [most likely local] Main St. black conservatives, don’t it?

However the notion that party support, by percentage of membership, is a measure of that party’s members racism is about as logical as my self worth being determined by your personal opinion of me. Frankly I have no idea why so many minority members support a party that bases it’s power on continued oppression and neediness of minorities. It’s a great discussion for genuine education and perception of policy concepts, as well as the trade off for increased opportunities vs assumed responsibility.

But there’s no accounting for poor education. So I shall continue to revel in like kind association with those like Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, Ward Connerly and the ever affable Charles Payne. That they make no inroads with fellow black America is quite sad.

Here’s one for you:

Harry Reid, Liberalism & Race
By E.W. Jackson Sr.

Harry Reid is developing a well-deserved reputation for playing the race card. Last month he accused opponents of his secret healthcare bill of being the same as those who opposed ending slavery. It was a highly objectionable historical analogy based on extremely flawed logic. Those who are fighting to stop ObamaCare are upholding the ideal of freedom — from government intrusion, confiscatory taxation and oppressive debt.

Reid, liberal Democrat and Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate, has now admitted to a 2008 comment calling Obama “a light-skinned” African American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” Joe Biden said something similar during the presidential campaign when he opined that Barack Obama is “articulate, bright and clean.”

Liberals wear their racial obsession as a badge of moral superiority. We are seeing the prideful dark side to their championing racial justice. It is noblesse oblige, the arrogant belief that minorities owe them so much — their very lives and livelihoods — that liberals are entitled to have their stereotypes and prejudices overlooked. The beneficence they have bestowed upon the seething masses of dark skinned people places liberal racial morality beyond question. Dark skin does not matter to Reid or his colleagues of course, but they are sufficiently enlightened to observe that it matters to the less sophisticated. Conservatives, “tea baggers” and those rural white folks who cling to their guns and Bibles are the ones we need to be concerned about, not the self-benighted liberal intelligentsia.

Perhaps not. Barbara “call me Senator” Boxer accused Harry Alford of the Black Chamber of Commerce of racial betrayal for not agreeing with the NAACP on Cap & Trade. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse said that the opponents of the liberals’ healthcare reform were “white Aryan support groups.” Jesse Jackson said that Rep. Arthur Davis is not a black man because he voted against the healthcare bill. Maureen Down accused George Bush of racism because he appointed “white men” to the Supreme Court. Nancy Pelosi accused Americans who showed up at the healthcare town hall meetings of being Nazis and racists. Long before President Obama turned the Prof. Gates incident into a racial issue, he made the still too little known statement in his autobiography, “white folks greed runs a world in need.” He no doubt learned that little rhyme from his racist mentor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

The truth is that Harry Reid and his liberal cohorts are the very definition of racists. They do not see “minorities” as individuals, but as part of a faceless group of victims. Joe Biden and Harry Reid give us a clear picture of how liberals view black Americans: none too bright, not very clean, have very dark skin and speak Ebonics or jive, except for Obama and a few others. That is called racial stereotyping. Liberals deny they do this, but out of the abundance of their hearts, their mouths speak.

Conservatives on the other hand see people as individuals, not unwashed and victimized masses. They do not look upon black Americans as a group to be rescued, but as individuals to be respected — or not — based on character and ability. This view of life makes them far less susceptible to the racial obsession which drives liberals to politically correct madness. When Trent Lott made his infamous Strom Thurmond remark, most Republicans — including then-President Bush — refused to stand by him, Although in my view they overreacted, they were unwilling to rationalize or justify racist speech and behavior. They do not suffer from the delusion of liberals who see themselves as the privileged paragons of racial sensitivity.

Blacks will eventually wake up to the truth and break free from their emotional bondage to liberal Democrats. Unfortunately, with a media dedicated to their indoctrination, they will not do so sua sponte. Black business leaders, ministers, writers and commentators must begin to point out the hypocrisy of liberal racism and paternalism. Individuals and families within the black community must reject liberal and government largess and messianic political pretensions. The focus of black progress must become earning respect instead of playing the victim.

Liberals have assigned the victim role to black people, and Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and others, have taught many to play it well. It is time to reject that role, and say to Harry Reid and others who live in their liberal alternative universe, “You can no longer buy our silence or support by throwing us a few bones. We no longer want scraps from your elite table. We no longer want your affirmative action or your victim status. We want the earned respect and honor that comes with being Americans who work, produce and contribute to our society.”

Then Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Sheldon Whitehouse and others will find they can no longer use black people like pawns on a chess board. Their paternalistic bigotry will no longer be overlooked. The resignation of Harry Reid as Senate Majority leader would be a start.

@Missy: LOL! I do believe that billy bob was trying to associate all conservatives with the despicable white supremacists, Stormfront… But being one of those inordinately bright south side Chicago lawyers, he didn’t get the dot org vs dot com difference.

The dot org Stormfront site is, of course, defunct. Wish the dang movement was. You’d find me there with billy bob in opposition. Perhaps the difference between us is I’d be the one who was armed.

billy bob is, of course, so saturated with bias and preconceived notions that he can’t comprehend a conservative’s hatred for white supremacy is equivalent to that of any black or Jew.

@B-Rob:

Remember — Stormfront.com… endorsed the GOP candidate, not the candidate of the “racist” Dem party.

Why don’t you comment here about the negative peer pressure of you and ilk who actively work to thwart and deter service (via public media demeaning) of those who don’t share your political oppressive views?

Waiting… waiting…. waiting….. But not holding my breath.

Oh, Mata! You KNEW I posted to ther wrong Stormfront, didn’t you?

stormfront.org

@B-Rob… is that another not-so-subtle attempt to accuse me of racism, billy bob? Or can you perhaps fathom the notion that I might be well versed in research and political history?

@Aye Chihuahua:

I believe they supported Ron Paul. brob must not have wanted to lose some of the drama by actually including his name.

BTW, would Stormfront be Ron Paul’s Black Panthers or Shabazz gang?

I notice that Mr. ParaLegal2 has totally ignored comment #17.

Wonder why that is.

I pity the Black that can’t break free from the ‘Collectivism Mentality’ that was instilled deep into their psyche during the days of slavery: this ingrained facet of the victim personality is why they are so easily manipulated by the “Massa” type of leadership, from both White and Black Races, that the Progressive Socialists depend on to keep Blacks voting, obeying, and staying true to the Progressive Mantras.

Consequently they are induced to trust in their Progressive Socialist “Massas” rather than relying on their own abilities and ingenuity for success. They wait like sheep at the abattoir to follow any charismatic liar who will promise them two cars in the driveway and a chicken in the pot; while their collective mentality is reinforced with soft soothing lies and deception. Yes the “Plantation System” of symbolic slavery is alive and well: the unwitting beneficiary, the Black Race, stands in line to be told what is best for them by their Progressive Overseers.

The door has been open, the bonds and chains of psychological slavery are imaginary; these are the last vestiges of slavery for the Black Race. If they wish to be led and controlled by the “Owners” like Reid who remark to other “Owners” about the tone of a man’s skin and his speech patterns like the Plantation Owners and Overseers of the past, that is their collective decision.

Obviously there is comfort in the collectivist mentality of the Plantation System, everyone is to be cared for, the fact that some live considerably better is a condition of knowing how best to care for the ‘underlings’, thus we have the true nature of the modern psychological plantation and of the Socialist system that the Progressives use to keep underlings at home and satisfied on the Plantation.
