Obama administration: Saving a deserter was “absolutely” worth the lives of six good American soldiers

obama and bergdahls

Breitbart:

State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki said that the prisoner swap for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was “absolutely” “worth it” and that Bergdahl “served his country as many men and women have” on Wednesday’s “Kelly File” on the Fox News Channel.

“Was it worth it? Absolutely. We have a commitment to our men and women serving in our military defending our national security every day that we’re going to do everything to bring them home if we can and that’s what we did in this case” she stated.

She also expressed confidence that the US would be able to keep an eye on the five Guantanamo detainees released for Bergdahl, saying “we have the ability to track and work with the Qataris. The reason that we know that individuals were reportedly online and engaging with individuals they shouldn’t be is because we track it. It means the system of tracking works.”
decision’s made.”

Six soldiers died looking for Bergdahl. Meet them here.

Susan Rice could not stop slobbering about Bergdahl’s serving with “honor and distinction.” Video here.

Obama traded five high value terrorists and the lives of six American soldiers for one America-hating deserter. That’s eleven to one.

Bergdahl’s fellow platoon members said he deserted but the valley girl Marie Harf said they “weren’t qualified” to judge him. As for Harf, don’t miss this. Another administration official suggested that Bergdahl’s follow soldiers might be “psychopaths.” The Obama regime accused Bergdahl’s fellow soldiers of “swiftboating” him.

If that wasn’t offensive enough, if this administration would do it all over again if they would take the same actions.

Deserters are heroes. Good soldiers are unqualified psychopaths. Obama and his scumqueens sh*t all over good soldiers and those good soldiers were nothing other than right about Bergdahl. Do any of you still wonder why some of us viscerally despise Obama?

We are led by idiots. Dishonest, incompetent idiots.

The next time a soldier deserts his post in a war zone, the search for him should be led by Obama, Psaki and Harf.

Just one little point.

We have a commitment to our men and women serving in our military defending our national security every day that we’re going to do everything to bring them home if we can and that’s what we did in this case” Jan Psaki stated.

Usually America would always get all of its prisoners back…..at the end of hostilities.
What obama did was get ONE back DURING hostilities.
At great cost.

Obama traded five high value terrorists and the lives of six American soldiers for one America-hating deserter. That eleven to one.

Obama did not trade the lives of six American soldiers for anything. Six soldiers in Bergdahl’s unit were killed during the three week period following his disappearance. Other soldiers have blamed Bergdahl for their deaths. Obama didn’t have anything to do with those losses.

@Greg:

Obama didn’t have anything to do with those losses.

I haven’t studied ‘who’ is responsible. The widely distributed story is that ‘some’ men were killed in trying to find and get Birddog back. Birddog is responsible for that. That said, the US should do whatever it can to get an American military person back. including trading if necessary. Birddog is the criminal and should have to pay an appropriate price. Obama is at fault for making a poor deal, but not for making a deal.

Was the deal worth it?

It all depends on a person’s point of view. obama traded five top ranking muslim terrorists for one want-to-be muslim terrorist. Would a patriotic president make such a deal? No. Would a president who wants the muslims to win, make such a deal? Any time. How many more deals are they trying to work out so obama can empty out Gitmo?

####We are led by idiots. Dishonest, incompetent idiots.####

Idiots could not have accomplished as much as the obama administration has in such a short time. obama is an idiot, but his puppeteers are not. obama is just doing and saying what he is supposed to. We have all heard him speak without a script to read, and then we find out how much of an idiot he really is.

The military has declared Bowe a deserter. 5 high value terrorists were released n exchange for him.
What did Marie Harf say when asked if those men on his own squad were in the best position to know if Bowe deserted or served with distinction she said “I don’t think that’s the case.”
She is intent on “learning the facts” but somehow plans on doing so while discrediting all his squad mates out of hand!

when are they going to say something about his wife and child he left in Afghanistan? makes you wonder how much of a “prisoner” this deserter was. I wonder how much information he passed to the enemy?

@Enchanted:

I wonder how much information he passed to the enemy?

I would think “everything he knew”.

@Greg:
Yep Obama is just an innocent bystander. Nothing bad ever happens due to his decisions. You surprise no one.

@Nanny G: Nanny he has been accused and charged at this point he i has not been found guilty
Except by you

@Greg “Obama did not trade the lives of six American soldiers for anything. Six soldiers in Bergdahl’s unit were killed during the three week period following his disappearance. Other soldiers have blamed Bergdahl for their deaths. Obama didn’t have anything to do with those losses. ”

Don’t twist your back juking out of the path of the issue. 6 soldiers died searching for Bergdahl. Had Bergdahl not deserted, these men would not have died looking for him. The Taliban, knowing the Army would send out teams to find one of their men, laid traps for them.

Would they have died anyway? Possibly. BUT they died looking for Bergdah.

Obama and his entire anti-American regime of an administration does not even mention these deaths or the redirection of substantial resources to find Bergdahl. All he cares about is spinning and re-spinning his grandstanding.

Obama knew who and what Bergdahl was when he made this deal; he just thought WE would never know. He relied on his subservient media partners to keep his headlines clean and positive. He forgot about people that served with Bergdahl. Obama thinks everyone but he is stupid. That makes HIM stupid and stupid people make stupid decisions. Trading 5 terrorist commanders for ANYONE is stupid and anyone in captivity that truly serves America would not want him to make such a stupid deal.

Everything Obama does serves Obama.

what do you expect from the fool who is a traitor

The latest (and lamest) White House spin on the Bowe issue is this:
Bowe was going to (or as obama says it, ”gonna”) rat out all of his unit from top to bottom as bad people who were awful to work for and with.
But, instead he walked away (three times, btw) and on the 3rd time he never came back until his buddies in the taliban put him on the jeep and sent him back.
So, he’s a (almost) whistle blower and therefore one of the good guys.
Only one big problem with this spin: obama’s own treatment of real whistle blowers has been abominable.

Obama is supposedly Commander in chief. Through his lackeys, Obama states this traitorous bastard “served with honor and distinction”. Six men died looking for a traitor and Obama has perpetrated a lie as he traded five scum bags he is obviously in the same mind frame as his for a traitor. So yes, Obama is responsible for the six deaths of Men of Honor”, something he and his buddy Bergdahl both have in short supply.

I’m going to assume Greggie and his band of lefties is also in agreement with the brain dead idiots who are whining that poor Bergdahl has been punished enough due to his captivity and “supposed” torture. So let me quickly get this off my chest. The man is a deserter! He is a traitor! Good men died because of his treason! As far as I’m concerned the death penalty is warranted and then some! I have no use for fools when it comes to this subject. It’s no different then Jonathan Pollard in my book. Yes, i am Jewish, but that man spied against the U.S. As I am a U. S. citizen, in my view, Pollard is a traitor to our country so again, I have no use for the bleeding hearts. And let’s not forget poor little Manning. I still think he.she should be shot as he is a traitor!

@joetote: Very well said.

http://freebeacon.com/blog/senior-defense-officials-are-undermining-armys-prosecution-of-bergdahl/
Take a look at what two UN-NAMED senior defense officials told CNN!
Astounding!

@Nanny G:

The latest (and lamest) White House spin on the Bowe issue is this:
Bowe was going to (or as obama says it, ”gonna”) rat out all of his unit from top to bottom as bad people who were awful to work for and with.

So, I would assume then that charges against these people will be forthcoming?

The people in this administration must believe they live an operate in a complete vacuum.

@made: It never says. Typical leftie drivel.

@Nanny G: #14
Who do I believe? This is really a tough decision.
(1) Military officials who are under the command of the president.
(2) Fellow soldiers who were in Bergdahl’s unit.

If only there was a way to know who is telling the truth.

@Smorgasbord:

If only there was a way to know who is telling the truth.

There is, believe your eyes and ears.

@Bill: #15
####The people in this administration must believe they live an operate in a complete vacuum.####

It’s more like they live in a cocoon. No matter what is in it, something beautiful ALWAYS comes out. The propaganda media have been going along with whatever the democrats want them to for many years. They are just a brainwashing machine for the democrats. One step to taking over a country is to take over the media, and that is just about done.

@Redteam: #19

There is, believe your eyes and ears.

Using that logic, and since obama is ALWAYS on the TV, and since he is always talking (especially about himself), I should believe EVERYTHING HE SAYS. LOL

I understand what you meant, but as I have mentioned many times, I go by FACTS, and not by what ANYONE says. I have found that even the most trustworthy people have gotten the wrong info, then passed it on.

Over the years, I have SEEN and HEARD enough to convince me that obama and his puppeteers have one purpose, and that is to destroy the USA, and the propaganda media are a part of that process.

I have read articles by people who lived through Hitler and through other countries that SLOWLY were taken over, and they said THEY SEE THE SAME THINGS HAPPING IN AMERICA.

Taking over a country is like fishing: You have to use the right bait, then you have to move that bait the right way, then you have to wait until you feel the fish take a good hold on the bait before you give you fishing rod a good jerk, or you won’t catch the fish. America is nibbling at the bait, and the fisherman is waiting for JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT to give it the fatal jerk that will land the USA in the fisherman’s net.

Roes anyone believe that Bergdahl wasn’t an honored guest of the Muslim fanatics? Did he become sick or want to come home?
It was an excellent opportunity for our Chief Muslim Lobbyist to release 5 key muslim maniacs as a humanitarian gesture. It’s past time to label anti-American actions as difficult situations. Obama has participated in the ruse as much or more than Bergdahl the traitor. Obama shares in the guilt of a traitor,

the left can pretend till Hell freezes over, but being a traitor to this country is obvious. Bergdahal should be hanged and Obama needs to answer why he traded 5 key enemy officers for the life of a man who deserves to hang.

Am I getting this right? In Iraq the US is bombing ISIS( Canadians included) and the Iranian leader is in charge. The Kurds are the ground troops. In Yemen, the US, Egyptians, and Saudis are pounding the Iranian backed Sunnis or Shia,lol. So Kerry will say that the ally of my enemy is my enemy, or the enemy of my ally is my ally, etc or combinations there of. Foreign policy is the theatre of the absurd!

Ever wonder why the Taliban let him go? Maybe they got tired of him.
I can understand why Obama went to play golf this weekend. It’s really stressful when life trips you up.
Ever wonder if congress will cut back funding for the White House?

@Smorgasbord: 21 I think you misunderstood, believe your eyes and ears. Believe when you see Obama, a Muslim liar set out to destroy the US. Believe that your ears hear him and his lies.

@oil guy

Much of the Shia militias, and Shia components in the ISF, dropped out of the Tikrit operation. They became frustrated that ISIS remains entrenched inside the city. The Obama WH also convinced the Iranians to drop out of the operation. As a result, we’re conducting airstrikes with about 5,000 Sunni ISF personnel and Sunni tribesmen on the ground. The Tikrit operation, in the eyes of the Iraqi leadership, was to be a blueprint of sorts for the operation to retake Mosul. If this is the case, it’s likely headed for failure also.

@Redteam: #25
I took the comment the way you meant it. That is why I put the “LOL” after the first sentence. I guess there needs to be a, “IAJ” (I Am Joking) added to the acronyms list.

As I mentioned a long time ago, when obama comes on the screen, and he starts to speak, I hit the MUTE button, so I no longer hear his lies. I am not joking. The MUTE button is one of my best friends since obama got elected. It is starting to show some ware from being pushed so much.

I give up. Ocean front property in Tel Aviv! I kid you not.

No one gets left behind

@John:

@Nanny G: Nanny he has been accused and charged at this point he i has not been found guilty
Except by you

Not exactly, John. He is also assumed guilty by those whom he served with and deserted. NannyG, of course, has no first hand information on Bergdahl but is, like others, relying on reliable and knowledgeable sources from his unit.

But, since you are all about having the information first before taking a position on a matter, what prompted Obama to hold a Rose Garden press conference to celebrate the trade of five hardened terrorist leaders for one SUSPECTED (the accusations were well known) deserter? Or, for that matter, what would compel Susan Rice to go so far as to describe Bergdahl’s tainted service as honorable and distinctive? Those actions only make sense in the context of ignoring all the accusations of Bergdahl’s actions and going for the grandstanding aspect.

Unless you have other information.

@John: Some decide to stay behind, and just because they miss home doesn’t mean they are welcome home or deserving of a free ride.

Do you defend him because you think he made an honorable decision or are you worried about defending Obama’s treachery?

@Jude: You show up acting bored and post an article from the Rolling Stone as reference material. Be an imbecile on one of the Lib sites, they appreciate thoughtless babble and consider it to be significant; here, you and your post are a waste of cyber ink.

@John: @Nanny G: Nanny he has been accused and charged at this point he i has not been found guilty
Except by you

I said,

”The military has declared Bowe a deserter.”

It’s a fact.
In accusing him, and then charging him, the military declared they have enough facts to find him guilty…..otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered.

In civilian court they would have arrested him then indicted him.
In military court he is already in custody so he is accused and charged, not arrested.

It appears the apologists for Obama think Bowe a Democrat.
Republicans merely arrested for something find themselves barraged by Dems calling them to resign positions of power.
Gosh, a Republican who doesn’t and then is indicted is further barraged by insistent calls from Dems to resign.

Meanwhile Democrats who are arrested sit in office.
Dems who are indicted stay in office.
Dems who are sentenced to jail time still don’t resign until after they are going behind bars.
Weird two-tiered way of looking at justice.

@John: “No one gets left behind”

I fully agree. Everything practical should be done to bring back our service men and women. Even in cases like Bergdahl, even if he himself is not deserving of the freedom and liberty of America, we owe it to the other servicemen he deserted and especially to those who lost their lives trying to recover him to bring him to justice and impose the proper penalties for his actions, should he be found guilty.

However, what is the cost we should be willing to pay? 5 terrorist leaders? 5 terrorist leaders and millions of dollars? Anything? What if the Taliban demanded we fly one of our own jetliners full of citizens into the Capital; would we do that to get Bergdahl back? What is a reasonable cost to get a soldier back?

Of course we don’t leave anyone behind. But we also don’t give away the farm to get someone back. Not only do we have an obligation to the captured, but we have an obligation to the nation to be smart about it.

Obama was stupid, grasping for headlines and pursuing another political agenda. This was a terrible deal, but it was not terrible because Bergdahl abandoned his comrades in arms. It was terrible because Obama made a fool of the nation.

@Bill: The administration and their supporters don’t believe anyone should be left behind. Benghazi was just an exception.

And Benghazi… How many attacks on U.S. embassies resulting in fatalities were there during the Bush-Cheney administration? There’s a list:

12 attacks on U.S. embassies and consulates that happened on George W. Bush’s watch.

It’s not about “blaming Bush.” It’s about the right’s totally-off-the-charts level of hypocrisy when it comes to blaming Obama.

@Greg:

the Bush-Cheney administration?

We all know and understand that Bush-Cheney were the cause of slavery in this country, the 1st world war and ww2 and will likely be blamed by the liberals when the sun flames out in approx 5 billion years. It is a good thing that the Dimocrats weren’t in the Presidency on 9/11. They couldn’t take all the blame for all the evil in the world. Bush-Cheney are handling it quite well.

@Greg: “Just in case anyone has forgotten….” In case you have forgotten, the purpose of GITMO was to hold military tribunals for those captured. The left opposed this and fought the process so that not a single trial has taken place.

However, while true that 30+% of those released have returned to the battlefield, why is it that Obama has not learned a thing from this? On top of that, why release high-level terrorist leaders?

How many did they get back in exchange? How many were held captive? Besides, Bush/Cheney did not negotiate, kowtow or bow to terrorists.

We have also been through your “list” before. How many investigations into those attacks were stonewalled and blocked, lied about or blamed on other administrations? It is not so much that the attack occurred (though Obama and Hillary had warnings and requests for additional security and the attack DID occur on the anniversary of 9/11, making us look really, really stupid) but the fact that all details of the time before, during and after the attack are kept secret (or attempted to) by this corrupt administration.

A video. Really?

No, it’s not about “blaming Bush”. Not entirely. It’s about shielding Obama.

@Bill, #40:

“Shielding” is what the right claims is happening when they can’t come up with a shred of evidence to back up their endless claims and accusations.

What’s the point of continuous Congressional investigations when the people who initiate them are never willing to accept the resulting conclusions?

@Greg:

“Shielding” is what the right claims is happening when they can’t come up with a shred of evidence to back up their endless claims and accusations.

Not a shred? Really? There was months of warnings and requests for additional security, which this administration ignored. During the attacks, this administration ignored the pleas for help. After the attacks, this administration lied about the motives of the attacks.

All for political considerations.

Hillary kept all her emails on a secret server that, once it was exposed by a hacker (a damned HACKER!), she wiped it clean before it could be examined.

What’s the point of continuous Congressional investigations when the people who initiate them are never willing to accept the resulting conclusions?

If only this corrupt, cowardly administration would answer the requests for information with information instead of stonewalling, the investigations would be over. Of course, so too would this corrupt administration.

Not a shred, indeed.

Republicans have a majority in the House and a majority in the Senate. If they truly have all this evidence of wrongdoing, why don’t they do something about it instead of just holding endless investigations and flapping their lips?

It isn’t as if they’ve been so busy working on useful legislation—which is their Constitutionally designated function—that they haven’t had the time.

@Greg

: It isn’t as if they’ve been so busy working on useful legislation—which is their Constitutionally designated function—

Which section of the constitution does it say that the Congress works ‘only’ on useful legislation and does not have an ‘oversight’ function?
You’re about to see, finally, what a congress is supposed to do. When obozo surrenders to Iran on this nuke deal, the Senate is going to overrule him on it and they will do it by enough votes Obozo won’t be able to do a damn thing about it.

Derailing a possible nuclear agreement with Iran so they can begin negotiating another nuclear agreement with Iran from square one would truly be the jewel in the crown for these idiots.

@Greg:

Derailing a possible nuclear agreement with Iran

Ok, DF there is NO possible nuclear agreement with Obozo. None!. The only possible agreement with Obozo is surrender. Iran has his number and knows he wants a deal so bad that he will totally cave to get it. Would you call that a ‘successful agreement’?
Obozo is a total clown, total.

@Redteam, #47:

Then why are the boneheads in Congress working so damn hard to make sure they wreck it?

It’s not like they’ve figured out how to accomplish anything themselves. They’ll screw this up, and then we’ll be left only with the options of a potentially disastrous war, or resigning ourselves to Iran going nuclear in short order. Then Saudi Arabia will follow suit. They’ll simply acquire nuclear weapons from Pakistan.

Republicans don’t seem to grasp the fact that an imperfect agreement could be far better than no agreement at all. They’re not going to get a perfect solution. Nobody is.

@Greg: “It isn’t as if they’ve been so busy working on useful legislation—which is their Constitutionally designated function—that they haven’t had the time. ” Unfortunately, they have to deal with the most un-Constitutional President in history and must spend time on investigations of multiple scandals dragged out by stonewalling and lies. But, had you been around in 1973, I am sure you would have promoted just blowing off Watergate and get down to the business of State at hand.

“Republicans don’t seem to grasp the fact that an imperfect agreement could be far better than no agreement at all. They’re not going to get a perfect solution. Nobody is. ” If by “imperfect” you mean a nuclear-armed Iran, then no, an “imperfect agreement” is in no measure better than no agreement at all. We shall see today, but the Iranians seem intent on destroying the negotiations. But, of course, what is compelling them to consider any position than their own? Sanctions? Nope, we pulled them, “in good faith”. Threat of military action? By this lame-brain? No one anywhere fears that from the United States right now, so that is off the table for now and once Iran is nuclear-capable, it will be off the table until someone wants to risk a nuclear exchange.

Explain how the Republicans, making it clear that only a deal equitable to the United States would be acceptable and approved by Congress, are “wrecking” these negotiations? If it is not a good deal, we DON’T WANT IT, so if it is wrecked, who cares? If it IS a good deal, it will be approved.

Again, all Obama wants is a deal he can claim HE did; he cares not one whit if it is bad for the United States, Israel, the region or the rest of the world. He will, just as he has always done, simply blame someone else if it turns out toxic. Kerry is no better. The United States could not have a worse team looking out for its interests.

@Greg:

Then why are the boneheads in Congress working so damn hard to make sure they wreck it?

Once the Republicans took over, they pretty well shut down the boneheads. Even Bonehead Reid is retiring.

If Iran is not ‘still planning to get a nuclear weapon” then what is the negotiation about? Why do they not want to export the uranium if they’re not going to use it under any circumstances. If all they want is a ‘good deal’ then they should just say “we’ll shut down all research and export all the uranium for” and name what they want. If it’s a good deal, we should jump on it. The answer is: they still want to get a nuke for the power it will give them. They are just playing Obozo for the fool he is. They know he can be played and now they’re proving it.
