The ability to not overplay one’s hand is a skill rarely possessed within the confines of Washington. Politicians continually reach heights, only to throw it all away in a desperate ploy to fly just a little closer to the sun. Thus is the current Democrat party, which you’d expect would be focused on governing given they’ve retaken the White House and Senate. Instead, they are obsessed with revenge and punishing those they see as ideological inferiors. The result of that is the ridiculous impeachment gambit currently being pushed.
Democrats (and a few Republicans) want to try Trump for “incitement” after he leaves office. Putting aside whether Congress even has jurisdiction to do so at that point, the facts simply aren’t on their side. There’s now evidence pointing the idea that the Capitol riot was pre-planned. There’s also the fact that Trump did not call for violence in his speech, explicitly asking people to march “peacefully.” The current impeachment attempt is relying completely on supposition and emotional pleas as its basis. To say it’s an abuse of the system is an understatement, and that’s true regardless of what you may or may not personally think of Trump.
Unfortunately for those thirsty to convict Trump and vote to bar him from running in 2024, collapse for the ploy is already fading. Yes, Democrats really, really want this to happen, but outside of that group, the splits are not favorable.

Overall support among voters is already underwater. The same is true of independents when you siphon them off and analyze their numbers. Republicans obviously heavily oppose the push to impeach and convict Trump. It’s not even close, so if certain elements of the right were hoping for a bit of a groundswell, that’s not happening. Liz Cheney walked out on a limb and it looks like it’s going to be cut off behind her.
Of course, public perception alone isn’t that important here. No one will be talking about this in 2022, nor do I expect any backlash to still show up at the polls when that time comes. But public perception insofar as it influences Republican politicians right now is important. These numbers simply do not support the idea that there’s 17 Republicans willing to convict Trump. Heck, there may not even be five at this rate. Very few GOP Senators want to burn their career down over a pointless exercise. That means this will fail, and Democrats will be left holding the bag again. Instead of getting their revenge, they’ll look like petty tyrants trying to punish their political enemies even after they’ve already won an election. That rarely sits well.

I heard about that and also a bill to impeach Kamala. It will be unique. Sadly if they were both to go out we would get Prez Nan, and that is scary.
Interesting a NPR poll, an NPR contributor was found to be with an agitator. That agitator screaming to burn down the building.
They have also been one of the biased outlets so its watchers may have had developed a negative biased attitude.
Especially since they claim Trump is leaving the entire nation completely screwed up, you’d think they’d leap right into action. I guess the conditions aren’t as bad as they lie about them being.
It would be interesting to see how the NPR poll was weighted. Usually, the over-sample Democrats. NPR being a far left propaganda organ of the Democrats no doubt followed that pattern.
As I have said, I keep asking what the violence inciting statements actually were. Our resident leftists here never answer. They know there was no incitement. However, for our amusement, these are the harsh, damning examples provided from someone on the Dallas Morning News page:
“And after this, we’re going to walk down there, and I’ll be there with you, we’re going to walk down … to the Capitol and we are going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women,”

“We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election, and everyone knows it, especially the other side,”
“There’s never been a time like this where such a thing happened, where they could take it away, from all of us—from me, from you, from our country,”
“We love you. You’re very special,”
“You’ve seen what happens. You’ve seen the way others are treated that are so bad and so evil. I know how you feel. But go home and go home in peace.”
No, really. These were the most inciting passages of Trump’s speech. I’m not making it up. And, let me tell you, she is emphatic that this is VIOLENT. She says she works at a library; I asked her if they have a dictionary there. Maybe she should look up “incite” and see what it says.
If this is inciting violence, EVERY political speech is a call to arms. These people are utterly idiotic. But, I guess that’s what insane hatred does to your brain.
Democrats are such frightened little idiots. I doubt Trump would run again at 78 years old. I know, depending on the opposition, I wouldn’t support that. But, he just has to do a head fake at incompetent, fearful, cowardly Democrats and they panic. It’s funny.
Anyone that has voted for either of these impeachments should be run out of public service. They have no respect for the Constitution. Impeachment is the ultimate penalty for a public servant that has abused the public trust but Democrats have turned it into nothing but a political weapon which requires nothing but enough votes. I like some of Tulsi Gabbard’s views, or rather, she is not your typical far, far left radical America-hating Democrat and it would be nice to have more of those, but she supported the first impeachment so she is not fit for office in any capacity. The same goes for any Republican. Impeachment for political purposes is anti-American and I hope it destroys everyone that voted for either one of these.
Impeachment was Congress’s only immediately available response to Donald Trump’s efforts to somehow overthrow the results of an entirely legitimate presidential election process—efforts which ultimately culminated in a mob of delusional lunatics taking over the Capitol by force, with multiple resultant injuries and deaths. They had to respond in some fashion. They were duty-bound to do so, just as they were on the occasion of the Ukrainian call.
Through his own actions, Donald Trump has totally destroyed his own presidency; Vice President Mike Pence is actually heading what is left of the Trump administration in all respects but official title. The damages done extend well beyond that. The GOP has been divided against itself. So has the nation. Trump has also dealt a blow to his business empire, seriously damaging the Trump brand. He pretty much blew everything up.
He and his supporters will place blame for all of this on others. That’s a predictable part of the overall pattern that brought us to this point. The truth, though, is that it all results from flaws in the man that were always apparent to some, but will always remain invisible to others. That’s a recurring element of every such historical tragedy.
What has the nation been left with? We can’t even have a normal inauguration:

Why were they not impeached? Maxine Waters was clearly ramping up her crowd to get in the faces of Cabinet members. Schumer was clearly making a threat to USSC Justices.
And where was the left that soils the pages of FA on calling out their own for incitement?
You see, it’s OK if the left incites their foot soldiers like Antifa and BLM. But it is not OK for President Trump to say his followers were going to peaceably let their voices to be heard.

Secondly, that election was as legitimate as Hunter’s job with Burisma; in other words, a total fraud. The evidence simply continues to grow. Impeachment had no evidence, no witnesses and, of course, no crime committed by Trump associated with it. All the crime, once again, was on the Democrat side. It is historic to have TWO impeachments and neither one being legitimate or Constitutional.
The damage committed to this nation has all been committed by Democrats. Demanding impeachment from the time Trump was elected totally gave away the Democrat’s disregard for the Constitution and exposed their desire to use impeachment as a cheap political weapon. While Trump was trying to negotiate deals good for this country, Democrats were telling those leaders it was only a matter of time before they destroyed him and removed him from office; why would they negotiate away the advantage past, weaker Presidents had afforded them? We could have had N. Korea accepting peace deals but the Democrats didn’t want “Trump” to win, never caring how good it would be for the WORLD. They undercut Trump on trade deals with China to prevent him from succeeding, never caring how it benefitted American workers and citizens. They’ve favored every adversary over Trump, never caring how much harm and jeopardy this creates for the US citizen. Democrats viewed Trump’s “America first” agenda as a threat to their power and corrupt culture. And, of course, it was. They’ve destroyed the nation to protect their greed and lust for power.

On the day of the Capitol riot, only a mile away from where electoral votes were being counted, he spent an hour repeating all of the same discredited crap he’d been pitching for weeks, and then suggested that the mob could head on over to the building and somehow peacefully change the outcome of the process, when there was NO constitutional, lawful means remaining by which it could be changed.
So what’s your theory about how that was supposed to be accomplished? What exactly did Trump have in mind?
It was an insurgency. It was a failed attempt at insurrection. It was serious enough that it resulted in a body count, and our nation’s capital being placed under armed guard by over 20,000 National Guard troops—none of which would have happened without Trump’s irrational behavior.

Two impeachments without a single crime, shred of evidence or credible witness against Trump between them. In fact, they were both for crimes committed by Democrats. For almost 7 months, there has been left wing violent terrorism against innocent citizens which Democrats were either incompetent to stop or complicit with. Democrats did all they could to make a dangerous epidemic as bad as possible for the American people, then blamed every death on Trump. There has been insurrection a-plenty and the Democrats are the guilty party.

The National Guard isn’t required in DC to protect anyone from the threat of ANTIFA or Black Lives Matter.
I would also point out that it wasn’t Joe Biden, anyone he appointed, or the Democratic mayor of Washington DC who authorized the deployment of the Guard into the nation’s capital. That would be the DoD in coordination with state governors. National Guard troops are being sent to DC from a majority of the 50 states. Only Military Police or those having law enforcement training will be armed.
