Trump may have won the presidency, but the crybullies at the University of Maryland are making demands in their effort to make the campus more amenable to “marginalized populations”:
There are 64 demands across 8 subsets of students—Marginalized, American Indian, Black, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, Muslim, Pro-Palestine, and Undocumented—including scholarships for “students of marginalized communities,” a ban on Columbus Day, beginning every on-campus event with an acknowledgement that “this is Indigenous Land,” that African American professors get tenure, that preferred pronouns are included on rosters, and that “queer diversity training” is required.
Also, the letter ‘M’ must be stricken from the alphabet, and the official language henceforth shall be — Swedish.
In addition, the Muslim students are rushing in to grab their share of victimhood benefits before they get all used up:
Muslim students also want “one room in each major building designated for prayer” and “shuttle services to [the local mosque] for Muslim students to have access to a place of worship.”
I think it would be difficult for a secular university to square that particular circle. It’s one thing for college adminstrators to do nothing as Muslim students/thugs take over an interdenominational prayer room and turn it into a Muslims-only prayer room, as they supposedly did at Pepperdine University a few years ago. It’s quite another when confronted with a demand that would require a substantial financial commitment to meet, as this one does.
