Obama adviser: Refugee plan proceeding despite Paris attacks

President Obama still plans to allow 10,000 Syrian refugees into the country over the next year, despite terrorist attacks in Paris, at top aide said Sunday.

“We’re still planning on taking in Syrian refugees,” White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said on “Fox News Sunday.” “We had very robust vetting procedures for those refugees.”
“There are women and children, orphans of this war, and I think we need to do our along with our allies to provide them a safe haven,” he added.

Rhodes said France should take the lead in how to respond to the attacks that left 129 dead in Paris on Friday. At least one of the Paris terrorists reportedly entered France by posing as a migrant.

“I think we would stand shoulder to shoulder with France in whatever decision they make,” he said. “In any case, we’re going to be cooperating with them militarily going forward.”

Rhodes said he does not envision a U.S. ground campaign in Syria.

“We do not believe that there is a solution to the challenge in Syria or Iraq that involves significant numbers of U.S. combat troops going in,” he said.

This is the guy who suggested blaming the video for Benghazi. We have idiots in charge.

Except that 11, soon to be more, states are saying NO to any new refugees.
Mass. is one.
Ohio is one.
Ill. (Obama’s ”home state”) is one.

@Nanny G: And thank sanity more are getting on board there were only 3 at 7am this morning, the day gets brighter as time passes!

@kitt:
It is 15 states now.
At least a couple have Dem governors, too!

@Nanny G: I am wondering if all states say no what will then happen. But I am sure there will be financial encouragement that some dem governors will lap up. But re-election will be payback.

I wonder if the ban includes Christians, which comprise 10-12 percent of the Syrian population.

You should be wondering why Obama’s plan doesn’t include Middle Eastern Christians, like the ones his administration recently refused admittance to the U.S.

You’re an idiot.

Check the time. You may have missed your medication.

You’re the one that seems drug addled.

I would hope the US would if they have to accept refugees we would accept the Christians they are facing extermination. To check for this we hand them a pork sandwich topped with bacon.

Funny how Obama just couldn’t see a reason to accept as refugees the translators from Iraq and Afghanistan as we pulled our forces out, but now he’s rolling out the red carpet for “refugees”, and freeing from Gitmo terrorists captured on the battlefield fighting – illegally under the terms of the Geneva Conventions, btw – against US forces.
