That is, a pen register, not a tap.
This means that Mueller could not have learned that “Cohen was about to destroy evidence,” unless he can psychically infer that from a phone number.
Ken Dilanian has so much heat you’d think he’s fusion.
NBC News has corrected its story: Michael Cohen's phones were being monitored by a pen register, not a wiretap, senior U.S. officials say. Pen registers capture "to and from" calling and texting information, but not content.

Apparently NBC News is the last bastion for white people who never saw HBO’s The Wire. https://t.co/0vh2t11xTK

I’m old enough to remember when the media freaked out when Trump said his office was wiretapped but it turned out no, only surveillance orders for people in his orbit, some in Trump Tower, were handed out.
Think the media will similarly rap itself for its own loose language with the term “wiretap”?
I don’t. I think they’ll forgive that little problem with #FakeNews they have all the time.
So, the illegal NSA phone # tracking has washed up in the Cohen case.
Then, somehow, it was outed (or going to be) so the Meullar team had to come up with a parallel but legal way to have the info.
Hence the warrants and searches.
But, too bad,
The facts show Meullar (et al) had access to Cohen’s goings ons well before the “legal” searches were authorized.
Obama’s scheme is falling apart.
Who realy still trusts these scoundrels not very many i bet the NYT’s has fewer readers then they did during Obama
Carnac the Magnificent with Predictions about destruction of evidence then because there are no Mueller leaks we learn Cohen was not spied on. Who leaked this to the NBC??
So, if Mueller had no credible evidence or suspicion Cohen was going to go all Hillary on the data, he swarmed Cohen’s offices and home for the theatrics of it.
