Don’t Let Left’s Cynical Hit On Nunes And Giuliani Work Again

Loading

One CNN “exclusive” and one tweet in a matter of 24 hours put into focus several vague and seemingly unconnected events.

First came CNN’s Friday report that a lawyer for the Soviet-born American Lev Parnas says his client is willing to tell Congress that Republican Rep. Devin Nunes met with former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin last December in Vienna “to discuss digging up dirt on Joe Biden.” That same story stressed that Parnas—who is currently under indictment for campaign finance violations—has connections to Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani.

The next day, Giuliani took to Twitter, stating that he had “discovered a pattern of corruption that the Washington press covered up for years!” “I’m also going to bring out a massive pay-for-play scheme under the Obama Administration that will devastate the Democrat Party,” the former New York City mayor tweeted.

To punctuate matters, Giuliani, who during his time as the Southern District of New York’s U.S. attorney took on the Mafia, including the leaders of the five largest mob families, queried: “Do you honestly think I’m intimidated?

The Nunes story sounded a familiar chord: Democrats had accused the former chair of the House Intelligence Committee—now ranking member—of ethical violations stemming from claims he shared with the White House classified information about the intelligence committee’s work on the investigation into Russia’s interference with the 2016 election. That ethics charge prompted some of Nunes’s then-Republican colleagues, most notably Rep. Paul Ryan, to push him out as the leader of the Russian investigation.

At the time, Nunes said in a statement that, “despite the baselessness of the charges, I believe it is in the best interests of the House Intelligence Committee and the Congress to step aside from the Russia inquiry while the Ethics Committee investigates.” The House Ethics Committee cleared Nunes of wrongdoing, but only after he had been sidelined by the charges for some eight months.

Some Democrats are now raising calls for launching a second ethics investigation into Nunes based on the conduct described in the CNN story. “‘If Devin Nunes was using taxpayer money to do political errands in Vienna for his puppeteer, Donald Trump,’ Congresswoman Jackie Spreier (D-Calif.), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, tweeted, an ethics investigation should be initiated.”

While Nunes remains mum about the specifics of the CNN report and in a similar story pushed by The Daily Beast, he broadly refuted the tales, telling Breitbart News that “these demonstrably false and scandalous stories published by the Daily Beast and CNN are the perfect example of defamation and reckless disregard for the truth.” Nunes added that he intends to sue both liberal news outlets.

That Nunes feels confident enough to unequivocally deny the stories as “false and scandalous” suggests the Republican representative can easily disprove the claims. That should not be surprising: Nunes surely has readily available documentation establishing that he did not visit Vienna during his December European vacation. If such evidence is available at the ready, Nunes will be able to quickly parlay the media and Democrats’ latest attack on him as fake news reminiscent of the Michael Cohen in Prague scandal.

But the latest hit on Nunes is much more than the mere peddling of fake news: It is the repeat of a pattern run by the left for the last three years. And it was the Giuliani tweet that revealed the play.

In his tweet, the former prosecutor spoke of corruption under the Obama administration and a “massive pay-for-play scheme” he had discovered. Giuliani then stressed he wasn’t about to be intimidated.

That closer resonated because the press and Democrats have been trying to intimidate Giuliani by casting him as a co-conspirator with Trump (and Nunes) in a plot to improperly obtain dirt on the Bidens. But if the most recent accusations against Nunes prove bogus—as the first set of ethics charges did—why should we credit a similar attack against Giuliani?

The answer is we shouldn’t. Rather, we should see the pattern underlying the attacks pushed by the media to Democrats’ benefit. That pattern is simple: taint Republicans investigating matters that threaten the left, either forcing them out of their leadership positions or using the manufactured scandal to breed public distrust in their conclusions.

We saw this when Barack Obama warned President-elect Trump about Michael Flynn, and later an FBI set-up led to his eventual firing by Trump. Next came Jeff Sessions, who recused from the Russia collusion probe based on a supposed conflict-of-interest, allowing for the appointment of a special counsel.

They smear our guys we smear theirs its what is done, except we have truth to smear them with, they rely on rumor and innuendo.

Liars need to be hit back with every weapon available. I hope Nunes gets the opportunity to slap CNN and Daily Beast with a huge settlement.

From Law and Crime: CNN’s John King: Rep. Nunes’s Refusal to Answer If He Was in Vienna with Shokin Is ‘Horseshit’

John King’s exasperation was showing.

Nunes has threatened to sue CNN and Daily Beast for reporting his meeting with Shokin, which apparently was an entirely factual report.

The exchange in the video is from FOX News Sunday, November 24, 2019. Nunes’s evasive “answer” to Maria Bartiromo’s question is ludicrous.

@Greg: The default assumption is that CNN is lying to protect Democrats. They have a lengthy reputation for lying.

It might be a good time for republicans to start questioning a few of their default assumptions. Nunes should be a subject of the investigation, not a minority member helping to conduct it. This should have been obvious after his misconduct in 2016, when he was essentially serving as a White House mole, secretly reporting back what was going on in closed sessions.

@Deplorable Me: He takes them to court proves there was no such meeting and its payday.

More likely he’ll be at the center of a House ethics investigation. Again. The reason he was evading Bartiromo’s question is because he knows such a meeting was improper.

@Greg: One wonders why the House is not paying attention to AOC, Omar and Tlaib, all of whom have numerous ethical AND LEGAL problems. No, they would rather invent issues to investigate.

Their corrupt world is about to come crashing down on their stupid heads. It will be pleasant to watch.

Commie news network has a real PO work sloppy seconds from MSLSD, Since her divorce, Joan has had few relationships here and there but nothing significant enough to get married or turn the date into a husband.

Trump joked about wanting to muzzel the dog because Barry had the Seal Team 6 dog muzzled during that dogs visit, I guess that dog was trained to sniff out terrorist sympathizers.

@kitt:

What a harridan Walsh is. Lots of people are afraid of dogs they are not familiar with. Maybe Conan could have his muzzle taken off and his handler could yell “Sic her” to Conan while Walsh is next to him. Let’s see how she reacts to a dog trained to take someone down.

@Greg:

Nunes should be a subject of the investigation

Hehe. Like we’ve been saying about Adam Schiff?

When found to be cheating, make sure you accuse your opponent of what you just caught doing.

No going to work, comrade. This continues to prove that the Dem party can only win elections or any power by way of character assassination, not actually winning with sound principles and a real platform.

@Greg:

More likely he’ll be at the center of a House ethics investigation. Again. The reason he was evading Bartiromo’s question is because he knows such a meeting was improper.

With your infection of our news agencies, entertainment, and educational institutions, you need not find any political target guilty of a crime..you need only convince the public that they are “probably” guilty so they support anything you decide to do to take power.

This is what Nazis and Communist have done, and still do today.

We are a nation of laws, not media hysterics that allow someone to be tried in the court of public opinion.

Durham is coming. Are you ready?

@retire05: It also is not proper to pet a service/ working dog dog at any time , Pence didnt seem to have a choice Conan wanted scratches, Conan got scratches. He will make a wonderful pet when retired, I hope his handler gets him.

Durham is coming. Are you ready?

Trump will probably have him fired because of his mustache problem. Especially if Durham’s report debunks one of his favorite conspiracy theories, which is apparently what is expected.

@Greg: Durham is investigating the origins of the Russian Hoax, thats the job he was tasked with. During that he found criminal behavior. Mifsud is not a Russian was not working for the FBI which begs the question who was he working for? Barr has taken more than 1 trip to Italy and was provided evidence, 2 cell phones, I’m sure the contact lists will be very interesting.
Who do you think Mifsud was freelancing for?

Durham is investigating the origins of the Russian Hoax, thats the job he was tasked with.

There’s no indication Durham has concluded it was a hoax.

@Greg:

Especially if Durham’s report debunks one of his favorite conspiracy theories, which is apparently what is expected.

So you and your party are above the law…as anything worth investigating is deemed a “conspiracy theory”, the term blasted on your own media outlets? Unfortunately, if you held the same ideals on “burden of proof” for Trump as you do for your own people, you might be focused on finding a real candidate for 2020 rather than the impeachment sham.

And as we’ve said, you’re a paid operative. I saw CNN doubling down on calling the Democrat corruption in Ukraine as a “debunked conspiracy theory”. How convenient.

There’s no indication Durham has concluded it was a hoax.

No, Mueller did that already.

Durham is coming. Are you ready?

@kitt: Obama would have eaten Conan.

@Nathan Blue:

With your infection of our news agencies, entertainment, and educational institutions, you need not find any political target guilty of a crime..you need only convince the public that they are “probably” guilty so they support anything you decide to do to take power.

In the past, investigations were usually based on sound evidence of an actual crimes. When one was under investigation, it was usually, more often than not, an indication of some crime having been committed. With Democrats, no more. They invoke investigations whenever they detect a political threat. Then, they tout that investigation as PROOF of wrongdoing. If they are REALLY lucky, they can deploy a liberal judge that will help with gaining a conviction, but more often than not, the investigations and indictments are just forgotten.

@Greg:

There’s no indication Durham has concluded it was a hoax.

The Mueller report already concluded that. Durham is looking into how the hoax got started.

November 26, 2019 – Trump denies sending Giuliani to Ukraine to pressure officials on investigations

Right. That’s why he told Zelensky to talk to Rudy.

Hang in there, Rudy. He pardoned a turkey today, so there’s a chance more might be coming.

@Greg:

Trump denies sending Giuliani to Ukraine to pressure officials on investigations

Correct. Trump sent Rudy, but did not direct him. The article title is libelous.

The article moves from using the word “send” to “direct” only a few sentences in.

This kind of misinformation and gross distortion of truth is why your party has already lost in 2020.

The article is, however, pretty clear about what Trump and Guiliani actually did…as to exonerate both.

I assume you have no issues with the DNC using Chulupa to investigate Trump…which is illegal?

Of course you don’t.

Correct. Trump sent Rudy, but did not direct him.

Right. Talk to Rudy about the thing. He knows what the thing is.

In other news tonight, Two OMB officials resigned in part over concerns about Ukraine aid hold, official testifies.

“I just made a general reference to the Impoundment Control Act* … and said that we would have to assess that with the advice of counsel before proceeding,” Sandy said in describing a conversation he had with a political appointee at the agency who was his superior.

* The law that Sandy believed made withholding the aid to Ukraine an illegal act. There were a number of people in OMB who were concerned it would be an illegal act.

So, the appointee in question, Mike Duffey, relieved Sandy of the responsibility of signing off on the action and did so himself.

Passing articles of impeachment in the House most likely won’t make any difference in the Senate. But the democrats are going to lay out the case against Trump so clearly that most people will understand he’s broken the law and been unfaithful to his oath of office, and then make their republican colleagues demonstrate whether it matters to them or not. They’re going to be made to sail into perilous waters if they insist on maintaining a lie.

Another interesting tidbit about OMB’s concerns has just come out with the release of Mark Sandy’s deposition. There were back-and-forth communications about them between involved parties, via emails—copies of which they stated were retained. Apparently OMB didn’t get the White House’s instructions not to turn such documents over to congressional investigators. (oops!)

@Greg: Did your journalists ever discover why 1.8 billion went into an oligarchs bank only to vanish? The same oligarch that also owned Barisima? Whos bad idea was that?
All this should be in the open the do not prosecute list that included Soros connected NGOs that got a lot of aid money.
When the evidence is all laid out the leftist get Trump mindset will still spin it. Its what is done.
The transcript for OMB’s Mark Sandy was just released. The ONLY reason he was ever given why there was a hold on $ to Ukraine was “the President’s concern about other countries not contributing more to Ukraine.” NOT bribery. NOT quid pro quo or any other WACKY Schiff conspiracy!

@Greg:

Now, how about that? When Burisma IS investigated, corruption is found, crimes are identified and indictments are handed out. Gee, I wonder why Biden extorted them to stop the investigation in the first place, if he was interested in prosecuting corruption? Any ideas?

I wonder why there wasn’t more information from Ukraine in the impeachment hearings?

@Greg:

But the democrats are going to lay out the case against Trump so clearly that most people will understand he’s broken the law and been unfaithful to his oath of office, and then make their republican colleagues demonstrate whether it matters to them or not.

Hahaha. No, they won’t. This is sad attempt at obscuring the truth. And Trump was within his rights to have Biden investigated. Only your partisan bias would let you say he was investigating a political rival. That will never hold up in court.

Even with the news outlets blasting this misinformation 24/7, the public isn’t behind the Dems.

Who’s your candidate again? Maybe you’d like to focus on the our lawful system of government instead of passing a coup off like it’s a legal impeachment.

Funny how all the trolls aren’t bringing up the polls…since they are beginning to favor Trump.

Only a CNN corespondent who say they are “wrong”.

Funny how that works.

@Deplorable Me, #23:

OMB official states Trump held up Ukraine aid because other nations were not contributing

No, that’s only what Gateway Pundit tells you he said. It’s the conclusion that Gateway Pundit is trying to pitch.

What Sandy actually said was that he recalled an email which made such a claim . That doesn’t make it his own conclusion, or OMB’s conclusion, or the truth.

The article is deliberately deceptive.

@Greg: Deceptive based on his sworn testimony. But you link to no proof just take that consensus reality and hang on tight, the repeated images of Trump with strings of insults and innuendo that your boob tube displays daily. (symbols and mind control)
Remember there are no democrat fingerprints on any new manufacturing jobs, not one vote for corporate tax cuts that allowed many to get a job and off the Democrat poverty wagon that was 2 or 3 part-time crappy paying zero benefits jobs.
Fiona Hill testified she got an early look at Steels/simpsons dossier She knew at a glance it was disinformation being shopped. The FBI used it for a FISA warrant.
Looks like 2 separate realities.

@Greg: @Greg:

The Gateway Pundit article CLEARLY states that Sandy said it was in an email.

Why do you feel the need to lie? It is because you read all the lies of Dana Milbank, et al, and want to mimic them?

What a rotten POS you are, Comrade Greggie.

Rack up another nickel.

November 27, 2019 – Trump contradicts testimony — and himself — by claiming he never directed Giuliani on Ukraine@retire05:

Contradictions? What contradictions? I never said what I said.

@retire05, #28:

The Gateway Pundit article CLEARLY states that Sandy said it was in an email.

Uh huh. The lying begins with the title of the Gateway Pundit article:

OMB Official Blows Up Schiff Impeachment Sham – Testifies Ukraine Aid Temporarily Held Up Because Other Countries Weren’t Helping

That is not what Sandy testified. The quote they’ve presented about the email is the only thing in the article even remotely related to the lie in the title, and is intended to be taken as evidence that he so testified. The pathetic thing about this sort of deception is that it works like a charm on those who want to believe what they’re being told is true. This kind of stuff is to legitimate mainstream journalism as WWF matches are to actual competitive events.

@Greg:

What Sandy actually said was that he recalled an email which made such a claim . That doesn’t make it his own conclusion, or OMB’s conclusion, or the truth.

Oh… so what you are saying is this is an opinion. Sort of a “presumption”? Not solid, verified proof, but something he “heard”?

Gee… I was under the impression that was the sort of evidence you found compelling.

Fact is, Biden extorted, Trump provided aid, Schiff lied and you have no impeachable offenses.

@Greg:

You complaining about falsehoods in “journalism?” Oh, now that’s really funny, Comrade Greggie. The left wing legacy press (but I repeat myself) has been lying to you for decades. Especially the NYTs and the Washington Compost. Yet you believe every lie they write with no question. Hell, lying “journalists” even won Pulitzers for their lies. Never mind that people got slaughtered over their lies. It was the Walter School of Journalism and idiots like you bought into those lies hook, line and sinker.

And how many times has CNN been caught in lies? You totally discount the fact that CNN never, ever has anyone on any of their shows that are honest brokers of the news. You still love them as a resource.

You wouldn’t know an honest journalist if you read them. That’s because you’re an idiot.

Ka-ching, ka-ching. Adding up those nickels.

All journalistic sources lie, except for those supporting The Truth as Told by Donald Trump?

Sorry. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs, and for the foregoing assertion there is none whatsoever. Trump lies like a dog.

@Greg: Innocent til proven guilty not by consensus gossip of sidelined Ambassadors and government gofers.
Those who do not like him will always read everything he does as having an evil intent.
Those that like him tend to see thing wayyyy different.
We demand solid proof. We know there is propaganda on both sides and nothing the government gives you isnt taken from someone else.

@Greg:

The legacy press, which is nothing more than an extension of the DNC, lies with regularity. And you swallow those lies with gleeful ease.

You would not know an honest journalist if their name was tattooed on your arm.

@retire05:

You complaining about falsehoods in “journalism?”

Not so much “complaining” as just saying anything that disputes the lies he wants to believe and promote are “lies”. He celebrates journalistic lying, as that is the foundation and basis of the Democrat party.

Sorry. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs, and for the foregoing assertion there is none whatsoever.

@kitt:

Innocent til proven guilty not by consensus gossip of sidelined Ambassadors and government gofers.

Our “sidelined ambassadors” were skilled, fully informed, highly intelligent and genuinely dedicated career professionals. Trump is a totally incompetent government golfer, who probably cheats on the course as has done with his wives, on his taxes, in the past election, and everywhere else. He was caught attempting to set up a cheat for 2020.

@Greg: Their highly attuned skills didnt stop the destruction of the ME, or invasion of Russia.
We are just at the tip of the iceburg with the IG report, your media in a panic over 1 FBI guy that might be held accountable for altering evidence. His required notification had him scurrying to them for spin coverage. BHOs former US Attorney just couldnt spin it could he?
They are also in high smear gear with Rudy.
Oh by the way who do you think Mifsud was freelancing for? Whats up with those phones? (phones can be used as tape recorders you know)
All roads lead one way…but do you know where?

Nunes sues CNN and Daily Beast over their lie

Nunes sues everybody, including imaginary cows.

The attorney of a DNC staffer named in a lawsuit about the ‘Devin Nunes’ cow’ parody Twitter account pointed out that cows can’t actually type

The man needs to be put out to pasture. He hasn’t held a town hall event or had an open public meeting with his constituents in years.

@Greg: Oh by the way who do you think Mifsud was freelancing for?
Yes they are in high smear mode with Nunes and no Paul Ryan to chuck him under da bus, soooo sad.

@Greg:

So you make claims that you can’t back up now? How do you know Nunes had not held a town hall or open public meeting “in years?”

Considering how radical and violent the left has gotten since the days of Obama, no Republican Congressman should publicize their events. I know. The radical left physically threatened my own Congressman when he was holding a public event last year. Now, when he is going to appear in my district, I notify the Sheriff’s office and have security for the Congressman.

I promise you, Comrade Greggie, no Antifa member, or any other radical left winger, will EVER cause trouble in my county.

Maybe conservatives should turn the tables on the left and start harassing Democrat Congress critters. See how they like it. I can just hear Maxine Waters wailing and whining now.

@Greg:

The man needs to be put out to pasture. He hasn’t held a town hall event or had an open public meeting with his constituents in years.

Too bad he handily eviscerated the impeachment spectacle with his comments each day. The American people are more informed because of it, and now thoroughly against impeachment.

Perhaps he was talking about that “Cow in the headlights” Schiff when he made the mistake of doing a TV interview?

@Greg:

Trump is a totally incompetent government golfer, who probably cheats on the course as has done with his wives, on his taxes, in the past election, and everywhere else. He was caught attempting to set up a cheat for 2020.

If only Trump didn’t have the glowing list of real achievements to back him up…but he does.

Golfing? Obama golfed more.
Cheating? Clinton cheated more.
Election? HRC Cheated against Bernie and Trump…and still lost.
Taxes? He’s paid more taxes than Clinton and Obama combined…

And now his polls show he’s more popular than Obama was at this time in his term, and that a vast majority of Americans don’t want impeachment and want the government to get back to work…supporting a duly elected President that has blown his predecessors out of the water…and he’s doing it while holding off a coup of useless Democrats who’ve lost their positions and illegal business contracts because he’s not corrupt like them.

Haters gonna hate.

@Greg:

Our “sidelined ambassadors” were skilled, fully informed, highly intelligent and genuinely dedicated career professionals.

They were also running their own foreign policy. Perhaps they were used to the lazy idiot Obama happily allowing others to do his job, but Trump directs foreign policy, not a pack of residual Obama hold-overs.

They were also running their own foreign policy.

Bullshit. They were pursuing the State Department’s official foreign policy objectives, which are those aligned with the best interests of the United States, because that’s their job. Donald Trump was secretly pursuing his own political goals, using a private attorney to do so while withholding military assistance from a nation resisting armed military aggression by Russia to provide that unofficial negotiator with leverage.

Trump had honest, dedicated, highly competent people removed, attempting to tarnish their reputations in the process, to clear the way for Giuliani’s bullshit. This sort of crap is standard operating procedure in the Trump White House. The conspiracy theory he’s trying to lend credibility to in order to weaponize it for use in the 2020 election serves the interests of Vladimir Putin to the same degree that it damages those of United States.

He should be removed from office.

@Greg: https://www.oann.com/state-department-documents-expose-biden-ukraine-corruption/
No one is above suspicion when they live beyond their means, paying off houses buying waterfront property and a 20K a month mansion after financial reports say they could have been almost a million in debt helping his son with cancer treatments.
1.8 billion in aid goes poof and you aren’t the least bit curious?
Joe may have lost his mind when he lost his kid, I hope he didnt FU completely trying to see Hunter thrive.

@Greg:

Bullshit. They were pursuing the State Department’s official foreign policy objectives, which are those aligned with the best interests of the United States, because that’s their job.

Uhh… WRONG. Once again, WRONG. State Department has no “official foreign policy objectives” that are not determined by the President of the United States. So, there is no such thing as the President violating foreign policy; whatever he determines is foreign policy IS foreign policy. Anyone NOT conforming to what the President determines is violating foreign policy. Notice, we don’t say Kerry was stupid to bow to Iran’s demands and pay them billions of dollars to accept their terms; we blame OBAMA because Kerry was only carrying out Obama’s stupid orders.

Trump had honest, dedicated, highly competent people removed,

So has every President. Obama had them ALL replaced, which is the source of the current problem, not Trump. And Yovanovich is hardly “honest, dedicated, highly competent”. She was following Obama’s orders to protect corruption they were all profiting from and doing the bidding of Soros.

He should have another term. He is doing a great job and needs the opportunity to finish repairing all the damage wrought by Obama, clean up all the messes he left behind, secure the border and fully restore the nation to its stature before Obama wrecked it.

@kitt: All Democrats like Greg need to be CERTAIN Trump colluded with Russians to win in 2016 was that there was a person named Trump, he ran for President and a place called “Russia” exists. Yet, in the face of overwhelming evidence (hard, documented evidence, not hearsay or what one might WANT to be facts) they will deny, deny, deny. All this confirms is their total lack of any honor or credibility whatsoever.

Devin Nunes sues CNN for $435M over ‘false and defamatory’ Ukraine story

Nunes is seeking at least $435,350,000 in compensatory and punitive damages.

He may have overestimated what the reputation of a known liar is actually worth.

December 3, 2019 – GOP Rep. Devin Nunes’ phone calls with Giuliani and one of his indicted Ukraine associates showed up in the House’s impeachment report

The House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday released its report on its central findings in the impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, and buried within it were details on phone calls between Republican Rep. Devin Nunes of California and several key figures implicated in the inquiry.

The report said that “phone records show contacts” in April between Nunes, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee and one of Trump’s staunchest defenders in Congress; Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor who’s now Trump’s personal lawyer; the Ukrainian-born businessman Lev Parnas; and the investigative reporter John Solomon, who has written several articles for The Hill peddling conspiracy theories about Ukrainian election interference.

How many players does it take to qualify as a conspiracy?

“Phone records also show contacts on April 10 between Mr. Giuliani and Rep. Nunes, consisting of three short calls in rapid succession, followed by a text message, and ending with a nearly three minute call,” the report said. “Later that same day, Mr. Parnas and Mr. Solomon had a four minute, 39 second call.”

Giuliani has largely emerged as Trump’s point man in the Ukrainian pressure campaign, heavily implicated in a broad, shadowy effort to pressure Ukraine to launch investigations that would be advantageous to Trump’s reelection campaign. Giuliani and Parnas were also instrumental in engineering the removal of Marie Yovanovitch, the US’s ambassador to Ukraine.

Yovanovitch was recalled in May, several weeks after Nunes’ conversations with Giuliani and Parnas. The career diplomat told House impeachment investigators that she was warned by a Ukrainian official to watch her back because Parnas and Igor Fruman, another of Giuliani’s associates, were working to get her removed from her post.

Parnas and Fruman were indicted earlier this year, accused of campaign-finance violations. Both men helped Giuliani in his efforts to dig up dirt in Ukraine that could be politically beneficial for Trump before the 2020 election.

The two men have been charged with conspiracy, making false statements, and falsifying records in connection with schemes to violate US election laws. Prosecutors indicated earlier this week that Parnas and Fruman could still face more charges.

There’s more to the article, including an events timeline, if you care to know about it.
