A memo that is purported to show government surveillance abuse and was at the center of an intense power struggle between congressional Republicans and the FBI has been declassified ahead of its expected release later Friday, Fox News has learned.

According to sources, the memo includes testimony from a high-ranking government official that without the infamous Trump dossier, the FBI and DOJ would not have secured surveillance warrants to spy on at least one member of the Trump team.

It also claims the FBI and DOJ used media reporting to lend credibility to the dossier, while the firm behind the dossier, Fusion GPS, briefed major American news outlets to include New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, New Yorker, Yahoo and Mother Jones.

The memo shoes that after former British spy Christopher Steele was cut off from the FBI, he continued to pass information, as did Fusion GPS, through Justice Department Official Bruce Ohr.  Ohr’s wife Nellie began working for Fusion GPS as early as May 2016.

It also claims evidence that Steele has a personal animus for the President Trump.

The impending release of the four-page memo comes after the House Intelligence Committee voted earlier this week, over Democratic objections, to make the document public. This led to a rare and stunning rebuke from the bureau, which said Wednesday they had “grave concerns about material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memo’s accuracy.”

The memo includes alleged abuses involving FISA, or the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

In a last-ditch objection, the top Democrat on the House committee claimed overnight that Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., had made “material changes” to the memo that was sent to the White House for review.

But Nunes’ office described the changes as minor and blasted the complaint as a “bizarre distraction from the abuses detailed in the memo.”

The White House has backed the memo’s release, calling for “transparency.”

MSNBC is only talking about the memo, not the contents. CNN discusses how Trump is attacking the FBI and the memo, not the contents.

Fox is discussing what is IN the memo.

You do the math.

@Bill… Deplorable Me: It wasn’t as explosive as advertised to me. Probably because it confirmed what most of us here already suspected. It also didn’t compromise national security either exposing the left wing wack jobs and the Deep State as liars trying to cover for their fellow coupsters.

@Bill… Deplorable Me: Printing and reporting on leaked information much of it classified. Now getting information in the open not slipped under the bathroom door, unheard of its going to destroy the government.
I say its the document that exposes the turd in the swimpool.

We all know what the FBI is; it is the foremost professional and most efficient law enforcement and investigatory organization in the world. It is unsurpassed and has had an unquestionable reputation.

So, this is what happened under the Obama/Lynch regime: they are handed information paid for and gathered by the Hillary campaign on her opponent and, without questioning the origin or veracity of the information, they go to FISA courts and present this information, as IF they independently researched and verified it, as proof that they needed warrants to surveile members of the Trump campaign and transition team.

What made the FBI “believe” the dossier? Why, media sources, whom Steele, the Trump-hating originator of the dossier had provided details of the dossier, corroborated that same dossier. This is not “sloppy” investigation technique; this is willful disregard for facts and pursuit of what they WANTED to believe, “they” being FBI and DOJ leadership.

@another vet: But, true, not exactly a bombshell, as there was already enough evidence exposed to lead one in that direction.

My thoughts on this are that the leaders of the FBI and the DOJ had been compromised with the Clinton investigation plus the “Fast and Furious” , “Bengasi”, the GM/Chrysler bankruptcy, The Waters bank issues, “Uranium 1”, the Hezbollah Drug deal and who knows how many other Obama/Clinton fraudulent actions. The only way the DOJ and FBI leaders could get out “alive” would be to help their co-conspirator get elected president. There seems to be emails and text messages that already point to this.

Now, we sit back and watch the real DOJ and FBI employees clean their house.

@Randy: It was just announced that the Senate Judiciary Committee is working on releasing a memo as well. It sounds like more will follow and the worse in all this is yet to come.

The truly significant thing that just happened seems to have escaped the media’s notice for the moment, but it won’t likely remain that way. It’s another ticking time bomb. Mueller’s people won’t have missed it.

The Trump administration may have set this one themselves, but that always seems to be how these things fly south.

@Randy: It could be accepted that more than just Strzok and Page shared the opinion that it was dangerous to engage in anything that either impugned Hillary or failed to impugn her opponents, expecting her to be elected President. No doubt many worried about the wrath of the most vindictive and cruel personalities in politics would direct her powers against anyone that let objectivity overcome their natural instincts for self-preservation.

This is, after all, a primary weapon used by socialist regimes: intimidation through the use of governmental power.

@Greg:

The liberal media only notices what they think will promote the liberal agenda. On the other networks I watched, they only discussed the memo itself and how horrible it was that it was released, not any of the contents (except for a crawler or blurb). It is little wonder liberals remain so totally ignorant of facts.

Trump said Nunes memo ‘totally vindicates’ him in Russia probe

No, it DOES NOT totally vindicate him—nor does it overturn the theory of evolution or disprove that human activity is altering the global climate. If he thinks it will give him sufficient cover to complete his slow-motion purge of all persons who have been tasked with investigating him, he needs to have his medications checked.

@Greg: You know, if all you have is lies and fabricated dossiers to support your excuse for illegal spying with which you found ABSOLUTELY NOTHING then, yeah, Trump is vindicated. No matter how hard you wish it were otherwise.
