Back in July of 2020, Chris Cuomo posed a question:
“Can we trust the data from florida’s governor?”
That was monumentally ironic. We’ll “circle back” to that later.
As regular readers here will remember, we’ve been well aware of Cuomo’s malfeasances vis-a-vis the COVID CCP Wuhan Chinese virus pandemic.
We remember his mandating that nursing homes take in COVID positive patients.
We remember saying that his elderly death numbers were vastly under-reported.
I remember writing that “Andrew Cuomo is an arrogant pompous self-righteous a**hole.”
The lid finally blew off the cesspool that is the Governor’s office. Cuomo’s aide admitted falsifying data:
Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s top aide privately apologized to Democratic lawmakers for withholding the state’s nursing home death toll from COVID-19 — telling them “we froze” out of fear that the true numbers would “be used against us” by federal prosecutors, The Post has learned.
The stunning admission of a coverup was made by secretary to the governor Melissa DeRosa during a video conference call with state Democratic leaders in which she said the Cuomo administration had rebuffed a legislative request for the tally in August because “right around the same time, [then-President Donald Trump] turns this into a giant political football,” according to an audio recording of the two-hour-plus meeting.
You see? It’s Trump’s fault.
“He starts tweeting that we killed everyone in nursing homes,” DeRosa said. “He starts going after [New Jersey Gov. Phil] Murphy, starts going after [California Gov. Gavin] Newsom, starts going after [Michigan Gov.] Gretchen Whitmer.”
In addition to attacking Cuomo’s fellow Democratic governors, DeRosa said, Trump “directs the Department of Justice to do an investigation into us.”
“And basically, we froze,” she told the lawmakers on the call.
Then they begin the deceit
“Because then we were in a position where we weren’t sure if what we were going to give to the Department of Justice, or what we give to you guys, what we start saying, was going to be used against us while we weren’t sure if there was going to be an investigation.”
DeRosa added: “That played a very large role into this.”
They didn’t want to make the information public because it would make them look bad. They intentionally hid the number of deaths.
But after state Attorney General Letitia James last month released a damning report that estimated the deaths of nursing home residents in hospitals would boost the grim tally by more than 50 percent, Health Commissioner Howard Zucker finally released figures showing the combined total was 12,743 as of Jan. 19.
Just a day earlier, the DOH was only publicly acknowledging 8,711 deaths in nursing homes.
In a Wednesday letter to lawmakers, Zucker said the total number of nursing home residents killed by COVID-19 had increased to 13,297. That number jumps to 15,049 when assisted living/adult care facilities are factored in.
New York legislators have properly called for an investigation into Cuomo’s actions and seek to strip him of his emergency powers:
New York Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt (R-Niagara) said in a tweet: “Governor Cuomo and his administration must be investigated from top to bottom and he must be stripped of his emergency powers. Justice needs to be brought for the grieving families who have been ignored to protect Governor Cuomo and his Democrat allies in the Legislature.”
In a separate statement, he said: “The news today that Governor Cuomo’s top aide admitted to deliberately withholding information about COVID-19 deaths is the latest in a string of disturbing acts of corruption by his administration.
Back in 2010 I said Cuomo should already have been in prison.
Knowing how New York rolls, watch to see if if this falls into the lap of Audrey Strauss, the US Attorney for the Southern District. She is mother in law of Melissa DeRosa.
Cuomo, being his usual sanctimonious preening self reacted to this in a predictable fashion:
“WHO CARES?”
And remember, America was never that great.

New York gov. Andrew Cuomo is scheduled to travel to Washington D.C. Friday to meet with President Joe Biden to discuss the federal American Rescue Plan for dealing with the coronavirus, according to a White House press release.
Cuomo and Biden will meet in the Oval Office with a bipartisan group of mayors and governors to discuss COVID relief and vaccination efforts.
That’s got to be some really top notch input. But remember, America was never that great.
I hope they shove this as far up you know where as they possibly can. So let’s circle back. Can we trust the data from Florida’s Governor?

She was saying they were cooking the books, breaking the law and they KNEW it. Their first thought was that the truth was going to burn their asses. So, their Democrat instincts kicked in: they began lying.
They were killing people, they KNEW they were killing people, they didn’t expect their friends in the DOJ to pay any attention and they panicked when they found out they were under unexpected scrutiny.
What do you bet they either will not face the media and take any questions, or the questions will be screened and only “What color do YOU think Air Force One should be painted, Honorable Emmy-award Winning Governor Cuomo, sir?”

They actually believe that “we lied because our political enemies would use the truth against us” is a valid excuse, if you’re a Democrat.
What’s remarkable about that attitude is probably half the country can’t see what’s wrong with it.
