Democrats are in big trouble and they know it

The democrat party is in trouble. Big trouble. Captain Barack Schettino has run the SS Partito Democratico into the rocks just off Obamacare island. It’s listing heavily, taking on water and the rats are jumping ship.

After 40 years in Congress, George Miller (D-CA) is retiring. Miller has been a Pelosi capo for much of that time. Another Pelosi confidante, Henry Waxman (D-CA), has also read the tea leaves is headed for the exit.

These are ominous signs for the democrat party. It’s not as though Republicans aren’t retiring but these are democrats in positions of real power. And they know.

This isn’t what democrats predicted. Over and over they promised Obamacare would boost their electoral aspirations, none more so than the feckless Obama sycophant known as Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

“I think actually that Democrats will be able to run on Obamacare as an advantage.”

Politico ran an article titled “Nancy Pelosi’s tough times.”

I’ve bookmarked it so when I am unhappy I can return to it for a mood lift.

For House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, the bad news keeps piling up.

On Thursday, longtime Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman, a Pelosi ally and fellow Californian, announced he would retire at the end of this Congress. That closely follows Rep. George Miller’s (D-Calif.) decision to also leave the House at the end of the year.

While Democrats should hold both seats, the departures put more districts in play. Perhaps more important, the retirement of two Pelosi friends — both of whom would be chairmen in a Democratic majority — bolsters the GOP argument that their grip on the House is solid.

National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Greg Walden (Ore.) called Waxman’s retirement a “clear indication … that the House Democrats don’t think they’re going to be wielding the gavels next time.”

The NRCC will use the Miller and Waxman retirements to raise money and lean on business groups and wealthy donors to back GOP candidates, arguing that the writing is already on the wall for Election Day and they’d better get on the winning side now.

Pelosi was even forced to deny rumors on Thursday that she too was retiring. More than a dozen Democrats called her personally to find out what was going on after a story speculated she might step down.

Be still my heart. If only.

There has been no one so consistently wrong about Obamacare as has Nancy Pelosi. Her words are now legendary.

Well, they passed it and we still don’t know all that’s in it. When asked a couple of years later about that obviously direct quote, Pelosi claimed that her words were “taken out of context.”

Pelosi said that the quote “was taken out of context” and it is most often quoted “by the far right.”

Then she said there is no bill:

We don’t even have a bill written yet. The Senate has not acted. And that really, the president really thought he was going to get a Republican vote in the Senate… You can’t say it’s in the bill, read it, ’cause there is no bill.”

Yet she had read the non-existent bill:

Also, Pelosi said “we read the bill.”

Pelosi also promised that everyone would have lower rates and better care.

She then was um, unexpectedly unable to remember saying that:

She promised that democrats would stand tall for Obamacare

And she was utterly humiliated by Jonathan Stewart

This is the woman who had to have it passed before we could find out what’s in it- the woman who had three years to watch a failure develop knows nothing about nothing. She shoved it up our you know whats but she is not responsible for its incompetence?

She is a disgrace. She’s a partisan fool.

Obamacare is not becoming more popular- it’s becoming more and more unpopular- especially among the uninsured– and people are learning what “affordable” means.

Obamacare has become an albatross around the necks of vulnerable democrats:

President Barack Obama was barely out of the Capitol after delivering his State of the Union address Tuesday before members of his own party began distancing themselves from the president, and they’re running as fast as they can.

In an interview with CNN after the speech, Alaska Sen. Mark Begich, one of the most vulnerable Democrats up for reelection this year, took aim at Obama’s focus on using executive actions to go around Congress. ”I’ll be anxious to see what these executive orders are,” he said. “But if they go too far you’ll clearly hear push back from me. There’s no question about it.”

Begich also criticized Obama on energy, objecting to his calls to end oil and gas tax incentives and opposition to opening up more of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling. He added that he has no interest in campaigning with Obama, but is open to showing Obama why his policies are wrong.

Obama is downright radioactive:

Obama’s post-speech roadshow conspicuously excludes any state where vulnerable Democratic incumbents are up for reelection. And in Wisconsin, where Democrat Mary Burke is trying to unseat Gov. Scott Walker this fall, the candidate is avoiding Obama’s scheduled appearance on Thursday. Earlier this month, North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan avoided an appearance with Obama in her home state.

These are ominous signs for the democrat party and Obamacare faces an even worse 2014.

Bon Voyage.

UPDATE

A loyal Democratic soldier tells the truth about Obamacare

Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia rarely holds his tongue (and never his punches), but he was the loyal Democratic soldier when it was time to vote for Obamacare. His pending retirement from Congress has freed him now to finally say what he thinks about the president’s takeover of the nation’s health care.

Mr. Moran joins a group of departing Democrats conceding what everyone knows: Obamacare is a train wreck. An airliner crash. A battleship aground on the reef. Pick your metaphor. “I’m afraid that the millennials, if you will,” Mr. Moran tells Washington’s WAMU-FM radio, “are less likely to sign up. I think they feel more independent. I think they feel a little more invulnerable than prior generations . But I don’t think we’re going to get enough young people signing up to make this bill work as it was intended to, financially.”

His analysis is spot on, but that’s small consolation. “I just don’t know how we’re going to [fix] it, frankly,” says Mr. Moran. “If we had a solution, I’d be telling the president right now.” Now he tells us.

Belated it is, but Mr. Moran’s assessment is a breath of fresh air in an environment where the Obama administration talks about “surges” in enrollments and tells “success” stories that don’t bear the weight of scrutiny. Obamacare was sold to the nation on a similar foundation of lies.

UPDATE II

Democrats: Cede the House to save the Senate

With Democrats’ grasp on the Senate increasingly tenuous — and the House all but beyond reach — some top party donors and strategists are moving to do something in the midterm election as painful as it is coldblooded: Admit the House can’t be won and go all in to save the Senate.

Their calculation is uncomplicated. With only so much money to go around in an election year that is tilting the GOP’s way, Democrats need to concentrate resources on preserving the chamber they have now. Losing the Senate, they know, could doom whatever hopes Barack Obama has of salvaging the final years of his presidency.

@Ronald J. Ward:

I can understand the ignorance of a given troll

since you’re about the only troll around, what is it you can’t spell?

Ever hear the term “shut down the government”? That’s what it means, if appropriations are not approved for specific spending, it can’t be spent. Any executive order signed, has to have money appropriated to fund it, if no money, no enforcement .

@drjohn: I didn’t see any link.

Regardless, simply because you found “a democrat” agreeing with you hardly makes your argument conclusive. Nor does it invalidate the many arguments I presented.

@Ronald J. Ward:

Regardless, simply because you found “a democrat” agreeing with you hardly makes your argument conclusive. Nor does it invalidate the many arguments I presented

Are you saying that Jim Moran (D-Va) is a liar and that he is wrong that the whole damn thing could unravel if the millennials continue to fail to sign up for Obamascare? Do you think you are more aware of the success, or failure, of Obamascare than a sitting Congressman?

And from Gallup:

Gallup previously reported a drop in the uninsured rate, from 17.3% in December to 16.1% in early January, a figure that remains unchanged through Jan. 28 interviewing. If the uninsured rate continues to drop in the coming months, the percentage of uninsured Americans aware of the requirement and the percentage planning to get insurance may also continue to decline.

Uninsured Exchange Visits, Familiarity Still Lacking

A fairly small minority of the uninsured, 23%, say they have visited, or have attempted to visit, a federal or state health insurance exchange website. That number is little changed from 26% in December, and 20% in October and November, when many Americans had difficulty accessing the sites because of technical issues.

Perhaps surprisingly, exchange website visits are no more common, 21%, among uninsured Americans who plan to get insurance. Thus, apparently many of those who plan to get insurance have yet to take specific steps toward doing so.

Because relatively few uninsured Americans have visited insurance exchange websites, it follows that 67% claim to be unfamiliar with these exchanges. Thirty-one percent of uninsured Americans say they are “very” or “somewhat familiar” with the exchanges.

Implications

A small but notable drop in the percentage of Americans who are uninsured in January, the first month new health plans went into effect, is a positive sign the Affordable Care Act is making progress toward its goal of getting more Americans covered. Another positive sign may be the increasing percentage of the remaining pool of the uninsured who are planning to get insurance through the exchanges that were created by the law.

Still, both trends represent only modest improvements, and it may get harder to convince the remaining uninsured population to sign up for health insurance in the coming months. Gallup will continue to track the U.S. uninsured rate, and uninsured Americans’ intentions for obtaining insurance, in the months ahead. Both measures will continue to gauge the early outcomes of one of the more significant recent pieces of domestic legislation.

Seems the uninsured are not flocking to the sign up page as you seem to want to claim. Perhaps because the bulk of the uninsured are made up most of the illegal alien faction and the millennials. And millennials don’t want to pay for someone else’s insurance since they are already paying for the Social Security benefits of the senior population now.

Stick to teabagging, RJW. It seems the only thing you are an expert in.

@Ronald J. Ward:

Nor does it invalidate the many arguments I presented.

They weren’t arguments, they were fantasy’s. You’ve been spending too much time with your boyfriend.

Yes, I understand you are parroting all the right things on the script you’ve been given, but do you have any mind of your own?
You’re a troll, and you only serve the cause that you erroneously think you are combating. The fact that you’ve lumped into a group without knowing a thing about me illustrates the utter ignorance in what you say.

Your immature, and just here to talk shit, not converse. Everyone that disagrees with you is “one of them.” That thinking is dangerous, and I will always stand in the way of ignorance, such as yours, and make you understand that you sound like an actual idiot.

You are a troll (funny tactic you used, and very liberal. “What’s a troll, anyway?” You make me laugh).

@Ronald J. Ward: You don’t have any arguments.

You are a troll.

Class dismissed. Go out and read a book. Leave people alone and stop picking fights with people you don’t have to look in the eye.

So, ACA having mandatory funding is a fantasy?
Obama not running in 2016 is a fantasy?
Gov Rick Scott, Tom Corbett, Paul LePage, and Rick Snyder being vulnerable is a fantasy?
You’re saying the GOP presently has the votes to repeal ACA?

I would continue but it’s obvious you’re no more than a kibitzing nuisance with absolutely no interest in reasonable dialog. You don’t want to discuss issues on their merit but go into some silly denial with an intent to incite anger. Your grade school homosexual innuendos and childish retorts not only demonstrates your inability to debate on an intelligent adult level, but by every consistent definition, qualifies you as simply an Internet troll.

And as everyone knows, the only way to deal with a troll is to ignore the troll. Accordingly, I’ll simply skip over your future diatribes without reading.

@Nathan Blue: That’s the best you got?

At least cowardliness and admitted ignorance is consistent with you trolling scockpuppets.

@Ronald J. Ward:

Good advise. Perhaps everyone here will give you the same treatment. But in the event you decide to stay, and continue making a jerk out of yourself, let me give you some help:

Trolling sock puppet!!!

There. Now all you have to do is cut and paste and everything you’ve ever said before, you will be saying again.

You hear leftists bloviate all the time about income inequality, attacking business people for the supposed crime of making too much money compared to the lowest level employee of the same company making minimum wage, yet you never hear of a leftist complaining about how much movie stars and athletes make, nor how rich leftist politicians make compared to their staffers.

You always here leftists snidely remark how if you don’t like abortion, you don’t have to have one, then without a sliver of self awareness demand that taxpayers be required to pay for abortions.

Those are just two examples of the hypocrisy inherent in what passes for leftist “thinking”.

Of course Barry’s ships is sinking it was built on Marxism, a proven failure. http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/60875

The original post noted:

Over and over they promised Obamacare would boost their electoral aspirations, none more so than the feckless Obama sycophant known as Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

“I think actually that Democrats will be able to run on Obamacare as an advantage.”

That is not going to be easy.
Recall those thousands of files sitting in Veterans Hospital file rooms?
One storehouse of these requests for medical care was so over-filled that the integrity of the entire building was at risk due to the weight of all those files.
http://images.sodahead.com/profiles/0/0/3/0/2/1/1/7/9/Veterans-Administration-Oakland-CA-123357316904.jpeg#Veterans%20Administration%20Oakland%2C%20CA
It might take YEARS for veterans to be given the medical care they deserve.

So, how does that compare with ObamaCare?
Same thing is starting to happen……

Tens of thousands of people who discovered that HealthCare.gov made mistakes as they were signing up for a health plan are confronting a new roadblock: The government cannot yet fix the errors.

Americans have filed appeals with the government to try to get mistakes corrected, according to internal government data obtained by The Washington Post. They contend that the computer system for the new federal online marketplace charged them too much for health insurance, steered them into the wrong insurance program or denied them coverage entirely.

For now, the appeals are sitting, untouched, inside a government computer. And an unknown number of consumers who are trying to get help through less formal means — by calling the health-care marketplace directly — are told that HealthCare.gov’s computer system is not yet allowing federal workers to go into enrollment records and change them.

The Obama administration has not made public the fact that the appeals system for the online marketplace is not working. In recent weeks, legal advocates have been pressing administration officials, pointing out that rules for the online marketplace, created by the 2010 Affordable Care Act, guarantee due-process rights to timely hearings for Americans who think they have been improperly denied insurance or subsidies.

But at the moment, “there is no indication that infrastructure . . . necessary for conducting informal reviews and fair hearings has even been created!”

Three knowledgeable individuals, speaking on the condition of anonymity about internal discussions, said it is unclear when the appeals process will become available. So far, it is not among the top priorities for completing parts of the federal insurance exchange’s computer system that still do not work.

The computer system containing the scanned appeals forms cannot yet communicate with HealthCare.gov’s enrollment database, so it is impossible to cross-check the information.

Just because these errors are hidden after the 7 page appeal forms are scanned into a computer does not make them any less serious or few.
In a year or two those electronic piles of forms will be as large as those of the wounded veterans who are also waiting for medical care.

So, the rats are abandoning the SS obama. The obamacare cargo is making his ship list too far to the left, and it is taking on water fast. We will never know how many democrats actually thought that the obamacare bill would be a good thing for the country. I don’t believe all of them knew what it would do to the people, but ALL THE DEMOCRATS voted for it without reading it, so they are just as guilty as any of them who knew what it would do. Anyone who votes for a bill before reading it and understanding it COMPLETELY shouldn’t be in office.

There should be a time for politicians to read bills, and it should depend on how many pages there are. The bills should also be written in plane English, so they can be understood by the general public, and the public should be allowed to read them before the bills are passed, except for security sensitive bills.

@Smorgasbord:

Unfortunately the American public have been locked in steerage so that the Washington elite can board the lifeboats. Meanwhile Captain Obama has changed course into the iceberg field. Once the life boats are clear he will phone the bridge from his blackberry and order “full steam ahead!”

@Ditto: #73

Unfortunately the American public have been locked in steerage so that the Washington elite can board the lifeboats.

I’m guessing you are referring to the cheaper ticked passengers on the Titanic actually being locked out of the upper decks of the ship. One reason so many couldn’t make it off the ship. A perfect example of what obama wants to do to ALL of us.

Can you imagine if obama were an actual captain of a ship, and his knowledge of his ship and the sea were equivalent to his knowledge of running a county? It would be like Gilligan being promoted to captain of a large ship.

@drjohn:

Ron, I quoted a democrat agreeing with me and I linked it for you. Feel free to support your assertions.

Once again, I didn’t find it. I did however find where Retire05 quoted Democrat Jim Moran and gave a link in comment 41.

You see, this is one of the problems hack sites get into when they try to take on too many sockpuppets to inflate the comment sections while giving strawman support for their bigoted argument that fail the scrutiny test. You just get confused and it blows up in your face.

It seriously makes you and your clones look like dumbasses. Not that you needed a great deal of help.

You may want to go back and change that or, simply do as you usually do and defy what’s in black and write, or send in your clowns, or call me a pedophile, or, or, or something of usual spectacular stupidity.

LIKE I SAID AT THE START, IT’S THE BIGGEST HEIST ,
NEVER BEING SEEN IN AMERICA,
I’M STICKING TO IT.

@Ronald J. Ward:

Why don’t you tell us, RJW; what purpose do you serve? Do you think your pejorative laden diatribes are pulling anyone here over to your progressive side of the aisle.

I did however find where Retire05 quoted Democrat Jim Moran and gave a link in comment 41.

Yet, when I asked you if you think Jim Moran was lying about the prospect that the lack of millennial sign-ups could cause the entire system to fail, you simply ignored the question, just as you ignore any questions put to you.

You are not here for debate of any issue. You are here to simply spew the talking points that you have gleaned from left wing sites like OFA. You wander off on tangents that have no bearing to the questions posed to you. Yet, you seem to think you are the sharpest tack in the box. You’re not. You’re simply a tool of the left, regurgitating their talking points and vomiting up falsehoods you have been told.

There are rules of debate, RJW. Rules you refuse to adhere to. They go like this: you make a opening statement. Your opponent makes an opening statement and counters your statement. You counter. Then there is the Q & A section where you are asked questions, and you provide answers to those questions. But like all Alinskyites, you think you get to make the rules (ignore all questions and refuse to answer them) and others have to abide by your rules.

Since you have refused to tell us what your actual political philosophy is, one can only assume that you are being paid to make the dumb, specious comments you do. No one in their right mind would think that you are here to debate, and be debated, to try to move people to your side of the aisle.

Basically, and truthfully, you are a waste of time for any rational thinking person since you only know how to insult and dodge. And I think you remain because you lack confidence and think that the comment you make are laden with intellect. You’re wrong.

If it were not for the fact that the owner of this blog respects, and practices, the First Amendment, you would be long gone and we would not be bothered by you any longer. So I suggest that you be shunned and treated like the troll you are (look up what an internet troll actually is; you fit the description to a T) because you certainly don’t deserve the bandwidth that you have been given.

And while you have lobbed pejoratives at anyone that disagrees with you, here are a few that apply to you:

troll
Marxist
leftist
liar
coward
tea bagger

Those five words are the only thing required in anyone’s future response to you.

This sites consist of nothing but politically illiterate trolls engulfed in their Obama Derangement Syndrome sessions, repeating the same debunked nonsense and unitedly and vulgarly changing any reasonable dialog to diatribe.

I’m actually quite bored of the bigoted pawns as exposing the gross hypocrisy, profound ignorance, and obvious sockpuppet duplications is like shooting fish in a barrel. What’s the point? And as to getting banned, what’s the loss? There is non to either of those two questions.

@ilovebeeswarzone:

PLEASE SEND SOME WATER, NOW

I wish we could Bees, but there currently is no reasonable way to do this. I’ve thought for a long time that it might be worthwhile to build a water pipeline from the most common Midwest flood plains to major Western state drought regions. After all, if you can have oil pipelines, why not water? The logical place to “dump” the water would be major tributaries.

Part of the problem is that urban sprawl has been unchecked in many of the region’s major cities (such as The Las Vegas Valley and Los Angeles) far in excess of what aquifers and rivers can supply. State and l local governments allow these cities to grow and take more of their share, while locking away water resources from rural areas.

@Smorgasbord: I find it remarkable that each regular contributor here shares the same personality, the same distracting tactics, the same evasiveness, even make the same grammar mistakes, regurgitate the exact debunked talking points, genuflect in harmony to the same nonsensical gibberish, support each others lunacy as if your arguments had merit on any adult level, and actually pretend that your sophomoric and grade school non sequiturs stand up to scrutiny.

I mean, it’s like you don’t even try to hide your dishonesty and actually believe someone out there might take you serious. Perhaps if you close your eyes, no one sees you? I don’t know.

But it’s indeed funny.

@Ditto: #87
I have a different philosophy on the water situation: Don’t move where there ain’t water. If a person moves to the desert, don’t put sod down that needs constant watering. Don’t put fountains in that evaporate the water faster. Regulate how much water households can use per month, and per time of year.

If water can be taken from one area without shorting anyone in the area it is being taken, that is fine. Too many times it leads to shortages from the area being taken.

We need our wetlands so the water can settle in. I have seen wetlands turned into golf courses, housing developments, parking lots, etc., made to drain water off quickly. Water that would normally have settled into the ground and helped raise the water table. Think of the buildings, roads, parking lots, stadiums, airports, etc., that are designed to drain water AWAY from them, and all of the ones that will come. This also adds to any flooding problems.

We are off topic on this, but I had to have my say on it.

Ronald J. Ward
YOU ARE DESCRIBING WHAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE,
YOU SURE DID A GOOD JOB AT IT,

@ilovebeeswarzone:

It hasn’t been done before for quite a few reasons, the main being the enormous cost. It would require land purchases by the government comparable to the building of our rail and interstate system. Perhaps if we weren’t paying for cell phones, greatly expanded entitlement programs and all the government waste, we might be able to afford such a major irrigation project.

@Ronald J. Ward:

It is made quite clear that Flopping Aces is a Conservative forum to advance the Conservative cause. Yes, we have had “sock puppets” on FA (As Curt and the other FA administrator crew knows,) but they have virtually all been lefties and called out by the admins. (I can’t say “all”, because not being an admin I wouldn’t know.) There have been many Democrat regulars who can hold an intelligent debate. (Greg and ThisOne generally are lacking this capability, but Greg has his rare good days.)

You RJW certainly have not been an intelligent debater. We can spot a DailyKOS, HuffingtonPost or OFA troll fairly quickly because they always use the same talking points and even plagiarized “cut and post” from the Leftist digital rags. We are not impressed with your pathetic insults, nor your lame attempts to change the subject and evade the issue under discussion. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating, all you are doing is wasting everyone’s time with your endless posturing and whining when we wont follow you down the rabbit hole into your Progressive Wonderland. You are little more than just another pathetic, far-left troll that serves no useful purpose, and you will not be missed. Don’t let the door hit your Democrat on the way out.

Smorgasbord
yes so true,
AND there should be priority sturdy for the farmers of the southern USA,
they are feeding us all and beyong, we depend on them for all our fruits and veggies,
they have the 4 seasons that”s why they are there,
WE ALL MUST HELP THEM IN TIME OF NEED, THEY NEVER ASK ANYTHING,
BUT WHEN THEY COME AND SHOW THE DISASTER IT MEAN FOR US TO GET OFF OUR BUTT AND BRING WATER, WHICH ALL OF US USE WITHOUT LIMIT, BUT THEY USE WITH PARCIMONY BECAUSE THEY KNOW HOW PRECIOUS THE WATER IS, AND THEY DON’T WASTE IT LIKE US,
WE ALL ARE ENTITLEL TO ANSWER THEIR CALL FOR WATER, NOW,
IT’S IN OUR INTEREST ALSO,

@Ronald J. Ward: Hey Dipsy.

even make the same grammar mistakes

as in” scockspuppet”? You’re not exactly the package of literacy.

Care to point out any ‘grammar’ mistakes I’ve made?

regurgitate the exact debunked talking points,

debunked again? Next you’re gonna be bringing Walt’s dog back into the discussion and that’ll be before you point out which country is not run by the rich. Nope, trolls don’t answer questions, that’s the ‘tell’ on them. They don’t know the answers.

non sequiturs

You know that’s not correct usage, right?

I mean, it’s like you don’t even try to hide your dishonesty and actually believe someone out there might take you serious.

I mean, it’s like, you are looking into a mirror, right?
And finally you said:

I don’t know.

You got that right.
Why are you still here? I thought you bid us goodbye. Adios, MF

@Ditto:

Don’t let the door hit your Democrat on the way out.

I like that.

@Ronald J. Ward:

Perhaps you’ve not picked up on it but I could not care less of getting banned

Rational people do not fear that which they know will never happen to them. Not to state that I think you are, in any way, rational.

I’m actually quite bored of the bigoted pawns

Then leave this site. I promise you, you will not be missed, even by the other liberal useful idiots that never come to your aid.

But as Redteam says, you would only show up under a new moniker. Hopefully the owner of this blog would prevent you from doing that. But I for one, love your rants and raves. You continually prove that liberalism is a mental disorder.
