If it wasn’t 21 degrees with ice in my swimming pool, I would find this amusing. Even to cold to go out and get in the hot tub. But, I do not expect the politicians shoving global warming down our throats to pay any attention to facts. They never have….

It’s worse then they let on, or even know. They are only looking at the ocean-temp-cycle. When one overlays this data-trend with the solar-trend, one finds dramatic and long-lasting cooling. I’ve watched this for over 20 years, and I predicted it in 2006, after the flux-levels dropped from the sun in 2005. I saw that the Pacific oscillation poop out in 2007, but didn’t expect the Atlantic oscillation to move south this quickly, which makes everything more dramatic. The Southern Hemisphere is cooling fast as well, but you will see screaming headlines about Australia’s hot summer soon….But it won’t be anything out of the ordinary, and the more important area to watch is S. America, and Antarctica. Antarctica last year “lost” the warmer water which was flowing near the Ross shelf, and that area is now below normal for this time of year. Antarctica overall, has been cooling since 2003, and accelerated that cooling in 2005, when flux-levels dropped. That flux level has never been this low for so long in recorded history.

The 3 major warm-water flows have all stopped at the same time, and is accompanied with record low magnetic-output from the sun. We are in for at LEAST 20 years of cold, and if the sun doesn’t perk up within a year or two, we are in for a 100 years cold spell, or more.

Because the vast majority of our “leaders” have bet the farm on warming, they will not respond in a manner that real leaders must. Many will die, many will starve, then die.

And NONE OF THOSE DEATHS SHOULD HAPPEN.

I wanna freakin scream…

Wordsmith had some good global warming cartoons in the Sunday Funnies:

This is now the 5th day of ice all around the house here in South Louisiana — utterly bitter cold, lows of 18, 19, every night of unrelenting freezing temperatures, highs in the low 30s, low 40s, day in and day out. Even our “cold hardy” plants have bit the … ice. It’s like Minnesota as near as I can figure.
Still, I heartened that my liberal friends do inform me that the “yes, but the average is going up.” And they do inform me that the ice caps and glaciers are melting.
“Yeah,” I said — “the glaciers are reforming in the swamps of Louisiana – charming.”
Still, I’m the “idiot” and they are unrelenting in their belief that even the coldest weather is warm. It’s bizarre. Their brains have shrunk or something. Or perhaps Cold is the new Warm. Hard to say.
But I do like the popsicle picture of the British Isle — what a great thing to send to people!

@Jim Hlavac: “They are unrelenting in their belief that even the coldest weather is warm” because they are victims of mass hypnosis. They are mesmerized by the latest AGW mantra “weather is not climate,” and they expect us to fall under its spell, too. We’re not supposed to believe our lying eyes or our chattering teeth, and we’re certainly not supposed to think independently for ourselves.

God has a great sense of humor, the global warming deciples look quite like idiots they are.

@Mike’s America:

They did a segment the other day on Fox and Friends about the elderly in Great Britain scouring the thrift stores for big books to burn for heat because they can’t afford coal. Bet Gore’s books were the first to go.

Hubby stayed home from Missouri this week end because the Des Moines Register was telling us that with the chill temp, it would be 50 below across Iowa, which would be what he would be facing at the farm. It warmed up to 12 below yesterday and today it is a balmy -3.

Back in 82 I remember having a winter like this. I was pregnant with my last child and my mother-in-law would call every morning and beg me to stay home from work, now we are going back into that cycle.

For the last two years, my tomatoes haven’t been ripening, we’re not getting the heat to bring them on. Been having to pick the green tomatoes and ripen them in my house, finally gave the last of them to my son in November. This has hampered my canning so this year, I froze most of them in quart freezer bags. Can do a few at a time that way and have found that the frozen tomatoes when you cook them into your sauces is like eating a vine ripened tomato, much better tasting than canning them in jars, doesn’t take up as much room and not as messy.

I also fell for the Great Global Warming Hoax, but it was easy. This was at a time, when I still believed the MSM was reporting in an unbiased manner. No more!

When I started investigating on my own, I found the global warming story is bunk. For the last 114 years scientists and the media have been reporting the climate was changing and it was getting warmer, no make that colder, no make that warmer, no make that colder! Get the picture?

Here’s a timeline and quotes of the climate changes tracked since 1895.

@Toothfairy: “weather is not climate” but they were the ones predicting cold winters and snow were a thing of the past. They can’t get their stories straight.

Besides, the glaciers and both polar ice caps are recovering their ice as one would expect as a warming cycle comes to an end. The seas are not rising anything faster than they normally would either.

All of the big markers of “climate change” that the alarmist global warming fascists screamed about for the last 20 years are showing just the opposite from the scary predictions Gore and friends used to scam billions already and were counting on to scam trillions more.

@Missy: Thanks for that survival tip. If the cold weather keeps up we are going to need more self help tips to survive. I doubt Obama is going to come and help us save our tomatoes.

@sandstone: Thanks for the link. I had not seen that. Notice the warnings about warming and cooling tend to go in cycles? DUH! Don’t these oh-so smart people know by now that the earth’s climate is cyclical and there is not a damn thing they can do about it?

Note the prediction here:

1969 – “If I were a gambler, I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000″ — Paul Ehrlich

Ehrlich is a colleague and co-author with John Holdren, Obama’s White House Science Advisor.

You know the old saying: garbage in, garbage out!

The US Navy believes that the planet is getting warmer. http://www.navy.mil/search/display.asp?story_id=50245
http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/?report=global&year=2009&month=13&submitted=Get+Report
The US NOAA says that 2009 will probably be 4th5th or 5th warmest year.
The main countries denying global climate change are Saudi Arabia Iran and Venezuela.
Israel has been signing global climate change treaties for years. http://blogs.nationalgeographic.com/blogs/news/chiefeditor/2009/12/the-weird-incident-of-climateg.html
Oh and as far as “record lows” go the record low temp for Louisiana is -16 F about 30 degrees lower than what Jim is reporting

Leaping to conclusions I see, drive-by-John-ryan.

INRE the Navy’s Task Force on Climate Change, and your assumption they are confident in “warming”…. From Titley’s October 2009 address to the “Arctic Security Policy and Law in an Age of Climate Change” conference.

Titley mentioned that human access to the Arctic is increasing due to the reduction of the sea ice, and that access will likely increase in the future driven by the possibility of natural resource extraction, including oil, natural gas, and minerals; significant time and fuel savings from transoceanic shipping opportunities; and increased commercial fishing potential due to the northward migration of some ecosystems.

Titley emphasized that the key to successfully developing a Navy plan for future Arctic operations and investments is to determine a reliable timeline of climate change based on the best available science. This will help answer what Titley referred to as the “when?” question.

“What I mean by the ‘when’ question is ‘when do you need to spend money?'” he explained. “When do you need to invest in communications? In infrastructure? When do the policy experts come up with specific missions? And when are we going to have a lot of water to work with?”

According to Titley, the complexities of the Arctic environment make it difficult to determine that timeline. “There’s a lot of variability, it is very complex, and that is why the predictions you see have pretty wide confidence intervals,” Titley noted.

ummmm… lots of “variability”, and “pretty wide confidence intervals”. Sounds to me like he’s prepared to see less ice, or more, as time goes on. Not his job to predict, but to adjust to what is around our Navy.

Also note you prefer to quote Titley’s comments addressing the Arctic only. That would be because NOAA satellite readings (only in existence since 1979) may record some footprint diminishing for the Arctic, but shows the Southern Hemisphere sea ice extent with it’s second largest footprint.

Gosh darn… some melts, and some doesn’t. My, how unusual. Then, of course, there’s that pesky fact that the earth has been “warming” and receding ice since the Ice Age. Revelation, Chicken Little!

Speaking of NOAA, guess you missed NOAA’s Tom Karl’s inclusion in the CRU Climategate emails scandal…. This is supposed to be some credible documentation??

Your third link does nothing to substantiate whatever your point is supposed to be about Israel and climate treaties. Clinton signed Kyoto on behalf of the US, but it has not been ratified. Israel has not, to my knowledge, ever ratified Kyoto either. Proving you again show yourself to be… well… pointless.

WEATHER REPORT……………….
The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in
some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a
report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consul Ifft, at
Bergen , Norway . Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers
all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto
unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions
report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees
29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf
stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by
moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many
points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals
and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals
of herring and smelts, which have never before ventured so far north,
are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few
years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and
make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

OOPS, this report was from November 2, 1922 as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post.
I found this on another blog then Googled it, and lo and behold the entire AP report is there.

John..

Could you print us out the sentence with-in the article which the “Navy thinks the planet is getting warmer”? (Hint: It isn’t there. They plan for all contingencies, including meteor strikes.)

As to the NOAA, they are using the same “corrected” (read: corrupted) land-temps that will inevitable be corrected again within the next month or so, like they do every year. They gat a lot of their data from the same CRU that has been caught fudging and correcting the data. The NASA data is better, and shows dramatic cooling. BTW: The 30’s were the warmest so far.

And I for one, believe that the climate is indeed “changing”. Like it does every day, and every year. In fact, the trend is toward warmth, because we are still coming out of an Ice-age, and will be for the next several hundred (if not thousands) of years. This fact is not the question posed by skeptics.

The skeptics all know that the planet is supposed to get warmer as is alwaysdoes in-between ice ages. That trend is always interrupted by periods of cooling. The present short-term date-trend is for dramatic cooling, then it will continue getting warm again, just as it cooled in 1000ad, and 1800ad, and 1960ad, then resumed getting warmer at a rate of .5degC/century.

The question at hand is the following:

“Is the extra CO2 humans add to the atmosphere, adding to the rate of NORMAL warming?”

The answer to that is no.
The proof is how wrong their models are, even at this relatively short time-frame of 10-20 years. The proof is also in the laws of thermodynamics, and chemistry.
And finally the proof is in the “cures” the UN comes up with, which do NOTHING to lower CO2 levels, only “redistribute” them, or pay for them.

The ‘new ice age’ was the scream in 1975. I simply look at the failed school systems that produced the scientist clowns to understand they lie about everything because they don’t know anything. Harvard and Yale are now two of the biggest failures in the ‘education’ system. Two disbared lawyers in the white house proves this.

I hear the Brits and Euroweenies scream about the cold weather until I am sick of it. I have news for them. Back in the early 1800s to the mid 1900s, it was not uncommon for snow and ice to be on the streets of London for long periods of time during the winter months. The same with the countries in Northern Europe. Even Charles Dickens wrote about the cold winters in his book A Christmas Carol.

The French forces under the command of Napoleon Bonaparte were decimated by the winter of 1812 on their retreat from Moscow. It was not battle deaths or disease that did in the French army, it was the bone chilling cold. Napoleon had better than 50,000 troops when he decided he had enough and began the long retreat back to France, leaving frozen bodies of once proud army, to the ravages of old man winter.

I was thinking about history for a little bit especialy with the boom that was the Industrial Revolution and how the winters before, during and after that era.

Given that America faced some of the worst winters in its short history as a Nation during the Industrial Revolution’s full swing of action should alone beg to question the, “sound” science that is the foundation of Man Made Global Warming especialy when Niagara Falls was frozen over during the peak of the Factory boon in 1911 and again during the offset of the Great Depression in 1932.

What really gets me is people try to write extreme cold as some sort of proof of Warming. The logic is flawed, as you can not use an opposite of your argument to prove your point. It is like claiming that by deep freezing a hamburger that it really was suddenly flamebroiled to a charred lump of coal by the icey freeze…
