No he hasn’t. That was a baldfaced LIE. He would NEVER give such an order, because it would immediately put all of the evidence demonstrating the truth of his campaign’s collusion with Russia and the lies they told about Clinton out into the plain light of day.
Because the evidence in question had bearing on a matter pending in federal court, the presiding judge advised the DoJ’s attorneys to produce the pertinent documents. They pretty much countered with wink wink, nudge nudge, Everybody KNOWS he doesn’t really mean it. At which point the judge said Fine, put that in writing and submit it to the court so we can stop waiting for something that isn’t going to happen and get on with our business. That, by the way, is an order.
So, today we have a sworn statement filed in federal court by Mark R Meadows, the White House Chief of Staff, essentially stating that what Trump said about ordering total declassification of all of the Russia investigation and Clinton email investigation documents was total bullshit. We now have in writing as a sworn statement: Nothing that the President says on twitter should ever be taken seriously.
Google will still be here when Trump is gone. He can’t force a private company to be complicit with his scam. He can’t make them give equal time to truth and lies. The entire proposition is utter nonsense.
@Greg: Well, he did and they are being released. As we now know, Trump didn’t collude with Russia, Hillary and the DNC did. We also know that Biden is corrupt, extorted Ukraine to fire a prosecutor that was going to cut off his supply of stolen and laundered US aid money and he and his son sold the influence of the office of Vice President.

No, Trump DID NOT order any such release of documents. The Twitter post was a lie. To determine whether or not the documents were actually going to be released was the entire point of the federal judge’s order that the situation be clarified. Mark Meadows, the White House Chief of Staff, responded with a sworn statement that Trump’s assertion on Twitter carries no official weight. It doesn’t constitute an order to declassify, unredact, or release anything, including the specific documents referred to. Meadows then does a little verbal dance around the fact that no such order was given in any other context.
Trump also said he was going to release his tax returns as soon as the audit was done. That was also bullshit. He never intended to do so, and never will do so unless compelled. Trump will say anything that he believes will serve him best at the moment, without any regard whatsoever for the truth of it. Lying is an integral part of his nature. He makes no distinction between truth and lies, and probably assumes that everyone with any sense behaves in the same way. Rules are for suckers.

Joe Biden doesn’t need to defend himself from this sort of gutter politics b.s. So far he hasn’t fallen into the trap of playing Trump’s game.
It will be interesting to see how Trump attempts to wreck an orderly, issue-focused debate tomorrow evening, assuming he doesn’t find some reason not to show up.

No it isn’t because he is still under audit. And, now that they have been illegally leaked (and not blocked because they were hacked), we can see he wasn’t hiding anything. We can also see how pathetically desperate you liberals are.

The Ukraine quid pro quo is as bad as it originally looked, along with Joe toting Hunter around on AF2 (the Money Plane) to allow him to shop Joe’s influence. Joe better come up with some really good evidence proving his innocence quickly. This won’t disappear and, if his dodging and cowering is any indication, it will only get much, much worse.
