Name one? Are you living in Iran? There’s no main stream party in America that opposes giving gays the same rights hetros get. Now if you believe a civil right is redefining what was for five plus milleniums known as marriage, that’s a bastardization of ‘civil rights’ that would make Webster cringe. IIRC all Obama and the democrat controlled congress had to do was recognize domestic partnerships at the federal level to receive the same results.

The “institution” you revere so much was NEVER free from its tendency to evolve over time. There has never been a single, constant standard of marriage that lasted unchanged for 5000 years. The “bastardization” of marriage that you whine so pathetically over is nothing more than the same change that has occurred repeatedly throughout history as the concept of marriage has evolved. You cannot refuse to rent an apartment to a black man, a single woman or an elderly atheist, but you CAN refuse to rent an apartment to a gay person.

Let me make this as clear as possible: The laws that prohibit just about every stripe of discrimination imaginable don’t apply to gays.
The GOP (“Republicans”) has consistently fought efforts to allow gay people to receive the same rights that everyone else receives.
The GOP refuses to extend anti-discrimination protections that the rest of the population have – rights that “heteros” have – to gays.
