I am thankful to be included as a member of the FA Posse. The knowledge base and sheer talent of my fellow posse members is always a source of inspiration for me.

As I progress through the political ranks, I will always look back fondly on my days as a member of the Flopping Aces posse:

Victory in Iraq Day

Posted by: Skye @ 4:51 pm in The Iraqi War, War On Terror

Michael Yon via Wizbang

“THE WAR IS OVER AND WE WON:” Michael Yon just phoned from Baghdad, and reports that things are much better than he had expected, and he had expected things to be good. “There’s nothing going on. I’m with the 10th Mountain Division, and about half of the guys I’m with haven’t fired their weapons on this tour and they’ve been here eight months. And the place we’re at, South Baghdad, used to be one of the worst places in Iraq. And now there’s nothing going on. I’ve been walking my feet off and haven’t seen anything. I’ve been asking Iraqis, ‘do you think the violence will kick up again,’ but even the Iraqi journalists are sounding optimistic now and they’re usually dour.”

This is what victory looks like. A hard fought win that seemed unreachable in January 2007. A win that proves miracles do happen! Thanks to the unwavering strength and leadership of General Petraeus and the talented men and women in uniform who snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. No credit can be given to the CCPM, VFP or IVAW - this victory did not happen in their name, along with al-queda they also lost the battle of Iraq.

The Sheepdogs have never looked better! We welcomed into our midst two active duty soldiers who strolled by TWICE during our rally. The VFP protesters witnessing our hearty welcome of these soldiers signaled no acknowledgment of their ‘fellow’ brothers in arms. Typical ghouls.

Did anyone else notice the the woman who joined in our chorus of ‘God Bless America’ as she walked by the Courthouse?

Yeah, and the beat goes on…

Join us every Saturday at the corner of High and Market Street, West Chester, PA 10:45 till Noon.

Peace Movement’s True Colors

Posted by: Skye @ 6:59 pm in Rallies

Skye emails from the road that this is what she encountered today in West Chester, PA after years of a weekly confrontation over the war;

Nothing has changed in our military posture towards Iraq or Afghanistan, in fact, Obama even admits now that he’ll have to continue the current administration’s policies. The only thing that has changed from last week is that a Democrat is the president-elect. But the Chester County hippies made it clear that only thing they had against the war was that a Republicans was in office by not even bothering to show up for their weekly protest this Saturday.

Not that it’s a surprise or anything that it’s been about politics all along, just that we now have the evidence of the intellectually shallow Left - how they were willing to prolong the war, tear the country apart and waste more American lives so they could occupy a few more offices in Washington.

It is with great joy to announce that the American Sheepdogs will be in attendance at the corner of High and Market for the foreseeable future. Now more than ever, we need to stand in support of our troops and our Nation. Obama won an election, but America lost her soul. As always, we will form a respectful wall of red, white, and blue on the corner. The Flag, of course, will be held proudly and with due respect, unlike our nemesis on the other corner.

Sunday With Ferris

Back Channels: A Soldier Makes The Case For McCain:

The most elegant case in favor of voting for McCain I’ve read to date. Iraq vet, Bill Wade, deployed NINE times to protect our nation, speaks of his reasons for supporting McCain in this election:

Wade refers to himself as an “Irish-Catholic Democrat and McCain supporter.” The leadership and courage the former POW has shown, both in the military and while serving in Congress, make him an easy sell for Wade, who is now a reservist and small-business owner. But Democratic leaders helped push Wade away, too.

“The Democratic Party I grew up in is not the same party of Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi,” Wade said. “When Harry Reid said the war was lost, that was a kick in the stomach to me.” Reid made those remarks while Wade was working in the Capitol.

“What I learned from that experience down in D.C. was that we don’t have leaders in Washington. We have politicians,” Wade said. “A politician will say whatever he has to say to get reelected, and McCain has proven time and time again that he is a profile in courage.

“McCain stood up to the Bush White House on detainee torture, on Guantanamo Bay. He stood up against his own party and was berated, and imploded his presidential campaign over immigration reform. Whether you agree with him or not, he took a stand.

“Where has Barack Obama ever stood up for anything? Where has he stood against his party?”

Wade is as ready for change as anyone, but not in just any direction.

“Change is a beautiful thing, but what’s behind the word change? What are we getting from Obama? It seems to be unknown. At least with John McCain, his life has been an open book. You know where he comes from, you know where he stands, you know where he’s going.”

Big Brobama

Video by Caleb Howe.

It seems the like the future barak is trying to ingrain upon the masses is not working to plan.

There are signs of rebellion:

Aerosmith has generally left the politics to bands like U2 and the Dixie Chicks, but axeman Joe Perry says national security and economic woes have prompted him to split from the rest of the entertainment world and throw his support behind John McCain.

“We pretty much stay out of it, but seeing so many people come out for Obama, I just felt like ‘What the hell, I might as well raise my hand for this side,” Perry said from his Duxbury home.

The Bay State rockers have done a few fund-raisers for the Kennedy family over the years, but Perry’s endorsement of McCain marks a first for the platinum-selling guitarist/songwriter.

~~~
“I’ve been a hardcore Republican my whole life,” he told the Herald. “My mother and father drilled into me from the very start that if you work hard and be positive, you’ll get what you’re working for. I guess I’m living proof of that.”
~~~

“I’m an optimist. It ain’t over till its over,” he said. “I think that he’s got a chance.”

Obama speech writer, Wendy Button, now supports McCain:

I can no longer justify what this party has done and can’t dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics. It’s wrong and someone has to say that. And also say that the Democratic Party’s talking points—that Senator John McCain is just four more years of the same and that he’s President Bush—are now just hooker lines that fit a very effective and perhaps wave-winning political argument…doesn’t mean they’re true. After all, he is the only one who’s worked in a bipartisan way on big challenges.

C’mon, join the rebellion - vote McCain/Palin

Joe the Plumber, and Tito the Builder are inspiring other American’s to wake up and smell the socialist coffee:

Below is an excerpt of an open letter to Obama written by Cory Miller, an east Texas native, who disagrees with the junior senator’s political philosophies and economic ignorance

You can read the full text of the letter HERE

In short, Mr. Obama, your political philosophies represent everything that is wrong with our country. You represent the culture of government dependence instead of self-reliance; Entitlement mentality instead of personal achievement; Penalization of the successful to reward the unmotivated; Political correctness instead of open mindedness and open debate. If you are successful, you may preside over the final transformation of America from being the greatest and most self-reliant culture on earth, to just another country of whiners and wimps, who sit around looking to the government to solve their problems. Like all of western Europe. All countries on the decline. All countries that, because of liberal socialistic mentalities, have a little less to offer mankind every yea

This paragraph is substantiated by the words of Peggy Joseph, Obama voter:

“I never thought this day would happen. I won’t have to work on puttin’ gas in my car. I won’t have to work at payin’ my mortgage. You know. If I help him [Obama], he’s gonna help me.”

People like Cory the driller and hard working Americans nationwide are going to have their wealth redistributed in support of this woman’s mortgage and gas bills. Obama can keep his change, I’m voting McCain/Palin!

This afternoon I had the distinct pleasure to talk with Lynn Forrester de Rothschild. A self made media mogul whom the New Yorker described endearingly as “practically, like a philosopher”.

It was a small, personal setting with Lynn speaking to 15 remarkable women in the elegant sitting room of Kathy Summerall.

Lynn described herself as a centrist democrat, one who stays away from the corrupting influence of partisan politics and puts the welfare of the nation ahead of politics. I quite agree with this stance.

She expressed her great admiration of Sarah Palin, describing her as an incredibly intelligent woman and accomplished politician. Everyone who has spent any time with Sarah admits the same. I suspect even Couric has the same opinion, although she would NEVER admit it!

To recap the coffee talk with Lady Lynne:

Her first choice for president was Hilary, McCain and then….

Obama is left, of well, the left.

His economic disaster plan is really a massive transfer in wealth, not a sound economic plan. Using clever wordsmithing, Obama has fooled people into believing a tax rebate program is a tax cut.

What is not known about Obama is scary; his connection to Ayers, ACORN, and Rev. Wright have never been thas closely scrutinzed by the media as Sarah Palin’s wardrobe. Would you marry someone without an idea of their character or history? Why vote for someone without exploring their past to elucidate who they are today?

The evidence does not support her belief in the US being the largest greenhouse gas offender. As much as I admire Lynn, we part ways on this issue.

Lynn sent a thank you note to Campbell Brown after the interview posted below, and included a t-shirt emblazoned with the word ‘bitter’. She yet to recieve word if Cambell has worn the shirt.

For details on last Saturday’s rally, surf on over to American Sheepdogs.

I was unable to attend due to a charity dog walk that I could not miss.

However, I do want to share some beautiful photos of the Sheepdog’s Blue Star Moms lunch with Rudy Giuliani and Cindy McCain. Maria Hyland graciously shared the following photos from the event:

How to Stop a Socialist Nightmare

Posted by: Skye @ 6:25 pm in Socialism

Drop the free market and go all out for free handouts. The citizens of Hawaii taught a lesson to state legislators on economics 101. Hawaii ends it’s universal healthcare plan for children after 7 months:

Gov. Linda Lingle’s administration cited budget shortfalls and other available health care options for eliminating funding for the program. A state official said families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan.

“People who were already able to afford health care began to stop paying for it so they could get it for free,” said Dr. Kenny Fink, the administrator for Med-QUEST at the Department of Human Services. “I don’t believe that was the intent of the program.”

Wow, parents taking advantage of a handout by the Hawaiian government have closed down the dawning of universal healthcare!

Say it ain’t so Joe!

Free is a loose term, as taxpayers were footing the bill for this socialist engineered program which had no restrictions on who could use enroll in this program. Why would you pay twice for healthcare coverage? Another instance of wealth redistributed - just not for you to use - or the system will come crashing down.

Obama Reviews Ayer’s Book

Posted by: Skye @ 6:05 pm in Barack Obama, Politics

H/T: ZomBlog

Prior to this glowing book review Obama and Ayers sat on a panel discussion of this book which was organized by Obama’s perpetually miserable wife, Michelle,

Ayers, who spent a year observing the Cook County Temporary Juvenile Detention Center in Chicago, is one of four panelists who will speak on juvenile justice at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in the C-Shop. The panel, which marks the 100th anniversary of the juvenile justice system in the United States, is part of the Community Service Center’s monthly discussion series on issues affecting the city of Chicago. The event is free and open to the public.

Ayers will be joined by Sen. Barack Obama, Senior Lecturer in the Law School, who is working to combat legislation that would put more juvenile offenders into the adult system;

The above photo of Obama may make him appear juvenile, but he certainly was far older than 8 years old when he wrote his review of Ayer’s book and participated in a panel discussion.

Via Michelle Malkin - page 82 of Ayer’s book mentions Obama. No mention in his description of Obama as being 8 years old!
