The general charged with investigating whether Marines tried to cover up the killing of 24 civilians in Haditha has completed his report, finding that Marine officers failed to ask the right questions, an official close to the investigation said Friday.
Nothing in the report points to a "knowing cover-up" of the facts by the officers supervising the Marines involved in the November incident, the official said. Rather, he said, officers from the company level through the staff of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force in Baghdad failed to demand "a thorough explanation" of what happened in Haditha.
What else in this house of cards is gonna fall? There is just waaayyyy too much evidence pointing towards a bias on the part of those who taped and broke this story. Too much evidence of conspirators upset over not being paid blood money. There may have been some bad tactics used by these Marines, or their ROE was screwed up, but there is no way this whole platoon went crazy and murdered these folks. Hell, a few hours after this incident they had a chance to waste a whole courtyard full of women and children and they didn't…what does this say?
The really sad thing is Murtha, a EX-Marine, is so quick to vilify and destroy his fellow Marines. What a pathetic little fool this man is and always will be
The article then goes on to detail what a anonymous leaker has stated about some pictures of the scene.
In the Haditha case, military officials have said that photographs of the scene contradicted the initial reports of Marines that the civilians were killed in the crossfire of a battle that erupted after a roadside bomb went off.
Bargewell's inquiry was believed to have looked into who knew about the photos, and why those military men did not question the initial report. (emphasis mine)
Interesting how the reporter is guessing what the investigation is hinging on, I suppose based on a this leaker comments.
We shall see.
In other news the lefties should take a look at how the REAL bad guys operate. The Taliban were running from the British recently, take a look how they tried to escape:
"It happened twice where they pushed women and children in front of them. The first time they ran into a compound and pushed them out the front to stop the assault," said Corporal Quintin Poll, 29, from Norfolk.
"The second time they were firing through a building with women and children inside. My guys had to go around the left and right to get them."
Guess who the Sheehan and her partners in crime would have blamed if any of these women and children had been hurt? It sure wouldn't of been her "freedom fighters".

What on earth does the word “coverup” even MEAN to Murtha and his fellow travellers anyway? How is the word even relevant when every salacious detail the pressies can get their paws on, true or not, is being printed in newspapers and repeated on television? What’s been done that isn’t being discussed already? Are Murtha and company implying that there are still WORSE crimes that the USMC has managed to more-or-less keep the lid on, crimes still worse than mass murder? What is this “coverup” of which this anti-Marine speaks?
