The mainstream media has become the American Pravda

You knew the press was biased. You knew they’re nearly all liberal democrats. You’ve watched as reporting has been replaced by editorializing. Outside of Fox News, there really are no reporters left. Everyone’s a commentator, a pundit. But the left wing media has transcended bias and evolved into bald political propaganda worthy of Pravda. Pravda was described by one left wing writer:

“Pravda” is the Russian word for “truth,” but as the old Soviet joke goes, there was no truth in Pravda. For decades the newspaper was the mouthpiece of the Soviet Union’s ruling Communist Party, a broadsheet filled with propaganda and false news, the adoring lapdog of Joseph Stalin and his successors. Even when it came to covering the more unsavory details of Soviet life, Pravda could “turn black into white,” to borrow the phrase George Orwell used when he all but personified the publication as Squealer in Animal Farm.

The media has become sovietized. It has become Pravda. You will find more truth in Pravda than you will find in the American press.

We’ll lead off with Jake Tapper.

Jake Tapper, CNN’s struggling afternoon anchor, led his fake news network on a dishonest crusade, all in a partisan effort to spread lies as a means to blast President Trump for not taking media questions during his China visit. In a tweetstorm Thursday morning, Tapper began with, “The Chinese government never wants to take questions from US reporters. In the past American presidents have insisted upon it.” And then, while doing his best Frank Burns imitation, Tapper self-righteously added, “as a demonstration of standing up for the freedoms our nation believes in.”

The rest of the left wingers piled on quickly:

Asked why President Trump didn’t take questions from reporters today, Sarah Sanders said, “It was at the Chinese insistence there were no questions today.”

As Trump might say

And wrong they were. CNN issued this correction:

CORRECTION: This story has been updated to reflect neither Trump nor President Barack Obama took questions alongside his Chinese counterpart during their first visit to the country. A previous version misstated that Obama had.

In their haste to demean Trump, they would up looking like jackasses. And don’t forget that Rhodes is a fiction writer.

Katy Tur and Nicholas Kristof suggested that Trump might have millions killed to boost his poll numbers.

TUR: We should be raising the alarm bells much more, you believe? Covering the story more? Talking about it every day?

KRISTOF: I think we should be ringing the, ringing the alarm bells in the night because I’m afraid — and, I guess I worry a little bit also that, that at the time when there is a lot of political pressure on the President, political crises at home, that that may lead leaders to behave in more aggressive ways, take more risks. And, right now, Korea is kind of on a knife edge and both sides can miscalculate. They are both on a hair trigger. It would be very easy to have an escalation.

“To be extraordinarily skeptical [sic], you can point out that wars tend to raise people’s polling average, their approval ratings, at least in the short term.”

Tur also intimated that Trump might have reporters killed:

Why — what is your sense of why this president is going above and beyond — bending over backwards, if you will — to stay away from criticizing the Russian president and to almost give him an excuse? As we know, there’s, since 2000, been a couple dozen suspicious deaths of journalists in Russia who came out against the government there. Donald Trump has made no secret about going after journalists and his distaste for any news that doesn’t agree with him here. Do you find that this is a dangerous path he is heading down?

As the author points out, it was Obama who had a video maker imprisoned. It was also Obama who spied on James Rosen.

Then this PMSNBC airhead host comes out with this:

“Everyone needs to tone it the F down, just tone it down,” Tur said on an episode of “Recode Decode” published Wednesday. “Bring down the volume. If we’re all loud about everything, nothing penetrates.”

Trump called her a “third rate reporter” and a “liar.” Here I disagree with Trump. She is not a reporter. She is no journalist. She is simply an idiot.

But the following proves just how low, dishonest and smarmy the press has gotten:

Anthony Mason brandishes a completely false headline. It is an outright lie.

“The House committee investigating Russian meddling in the presidential election heard quite a story this week from President Trump’s former bodyguard,” announced temporary Anchor Anthony Mason during CBS Evening News as he led into a report on the leaked testimony, with the on screen headline “Blackmailed by Russia?” enblazoned behind him. “He seems to suggest Russians may have tried to blackmail Mr. Trump.”

And ABC?

Meanwhile, on ABC’s World News Tonight, Anchor David Muir sensationalized the non-story as possibly being important. “And there is another major headline at this hour, involving the President’s long-time bodyguard, and what he told Congress about the President in Moscow, and an alleged offer of several Russian women in 2013,” he declared, before handing the report off to Chief Investigative Correspondent Brian Ross.

The truth?

WASHINGTON — After a business meeting before the Miss Universe Pageant in 2013, a Russian participant offered to “send five women” to Donald Trump’s hotel room in Moscow, his longtime bodyguard told Congress this week, according to three sources who were present for the interview.

Two of the sources said the bodyguard, Keith Schiller, viewed the offer as a joke, and immediately responded, “We don’t do that type of stuff.”

Schiller also added:

Schiller said he and Trump were aware of the risk that hotel rooms in Moscow could be set up to capture hidden video, two sources said.

But CBS wants you to believe Trump was blackmailed no matter how false the story is. That is why they presented the image they did. The intent is to damage Trump.

CNN is such a mess it is almost sad. Check out the results when you search “Jim Acosta attacks Trump”

CNN selectively edited a Trump quote to make Trump look bad and then edited a video to make Trump seem recklessly over feeding fish. It’s gotten so bad that even the Russians are calling CNN “fake news.”

CNN’s Matthew Chance wanted to asked Deripaska about all this at the APEC summit in Vietnam on Friday. Deripaska didn’t feel like talking.

He really didn’t feel like talking.

In the video above, you can see the comical lengths to which Deripaska went to avoid talking to Chance.

As Deripaska kept briskly walking, Chance was unable to get him to stop. Eventually, he did offer a brief retort — as he maintained his fast getaway.

“Fake news,” Deripaska said.

Not liking the way the real world is, the Washington Post has taken a step toward dwelling in its own virtual reality world:

The Washington Post acknowledged the one year anniversary of the 2016 presidential election by offering readers an alternate timeline wherein Hillary Clinton did not end up wandering aimlessly in the woods of Chappaqua, drowning her sorrows in buckets of Chardonnay but, instead, won the election and ascended to her rightful place on her throne in the Oval Office as President of the United States.

The Style section article titled “What if Hillary had won? A jolly trip down memory lane, alternate-timeline edition” is clearly a witty exercise in satire and it is accompanied by a alternate reality newscast imagined by the creative minds at the Post.

The press has gotten so bad that former President Jimmy Carter recognizes the problem:

Jimmy Carter told Maureen Dowd of the New York Times that the media has been harder on Donald Trump than any other president “in recent memory” (and at 93-years-old, the guy has been around for a while).

Chris Wallace had this to say

“I believe some of our colleagues — many of our colleagues — think this President has gone so far over the line bashing the media, it has given them an excuse to cross the line themselves, to push back. As tempting as that may be, I think it’s a big mistake.”

Yes it is a mistake. Trump goads them for a reason- to smoke them out. It really doesn’t matter what Trump says- reporters are supposed to be professionals and stay above the fray and on task but sadly, they are not very professional and they are not reporters. They’re all critics. They infuse opinion into everything and when Trump is the topic it’s all negative.

They have become sovietized.
