Upon hearing about the latest “gate,” I thought “will this be the damning evidence that shows our Government is broken beyond repair?” The inevitable has been reached and the tin-foil hat and black helicopter crew have much more credibility. With this in mind what are my options in what the Democrats used to phrase as “keeping the “government” out of my bedroom?”

1. Accept it.
2. Change it.

If I accept it, I have to expect that my Government in every form, from Health Care to personal phone calls, and yes, credit card purchases and automobile mileage, speed, and destination are being recorded and my entire identity is being placed in a file with a grade upon this file. Am I “URGENT,” or “To be Audited at Later Date?”

If I want to change it, am I prepared to “go dark?” I mean can I cancel my internet, cell phone, land line, all gaming systems, and bank credit/debit card? Can I deal in cash or money orders under $3000 only?

How can I go dark and not be a “low information voter?” Or how can I plug into what’s going on without my favorite blogs? If you’re sitting in your “Man Cave” thinking that you have a case of beans and weenies and that old 22 your grandpa gave you is enough, think again.

If not one person in the 50 or so communication sources such as Google, YouTube, Face book, or Verizon didn’t stop this blatant invasion of privacy then they should suffer the consequences of their actions. Would the Cloward–Piven strategy work for the “Atlas Shrugged” crowd? I think I have the answer. Are you prepared to go against an over-bearing government performing acts against her people that would make King George III look like a “light bringer” and could lower the seas?

Nail, meet hammer. Nailed it.

Don’t forget that Obama wants to spy on Americans also through their dishwashers and microwave ovens!
Yup.

Did you remember to wait until electrical peak hours were over to wash your dishes?
Did you nuke processed food too often in a month?
As of right now all they can tell is that you are home using the things, but give it a few more years and model improvements.

@Nan G:

This is all part of the drive for “smart” meters. If you can control people, you have the ultimate power over them. Smart meters allow the utility companies to determine when you are using power and to be able to regulate your usage. It is also a push to allot power based on how many people live in a home. You are a couple living in 2,500 sq. feet? You get X amount of power per person. A family of 5 living in a 1,000 sq. ft? You get over twice as much power based on personal allotments. If you use more than you are allotted before the month is out, too damn bad. No more power for you until the month rolls over. The smart meter allows for the power company to cut your usage during certain times of the day, or all together.

Big Brother’s not coming; he’s here.

@retire05:
Some folks in our old (Long Beach) condos opted for smart meters when they were optional….now they are not.
One thing that SoCalEdison did was micro-power outages all during the hotter summer days.
Just enough to where your digital alarm clocks were useless.
Just enough to screw with your automatic timer on your dishwasher, oven, etc.
Not enough to defrost your freezer.
They figured most people were at work and wouldn’t notice.
Not so.

There is another side to the smart electric meters. I used to work for a small town utility who generated our own electricity. We obviously had to have the capacity to generate the amount of electricity needed at peak times. The town was small enough that one large engine could supply enough electricity for general use, but not enough for the peak demands. We had two of them, and switched them back and forth. We also had two older and smaller engines. When one engine couldn’t handle the load, another one had to be started.

The same problem exists for any power company. The large power companies have to have generator stations set up around their grid. They are only used for peak demand. This costs the power companies millions of dollars to set these up for just a few short hours of running. You pay for these in your electric rates. The more electricity we use during the peak hours, the more of the generator stations have to be set up, and the more it costs the power companies. If the customers don’t mind paying a higher rate for their electricity, to have it whenever they want it, then so be it. But if the customers want lower rates, or longer times in between rate increases, then the customer has to make some adjustments. Maybe the electric companies should give their customers the information, telling them how much the rates would be if the customers adjust there usage, compared to how much it is costing them now, and let the customer decide.

I thought about “going dark” as you say…and what if…what if everyone got so fed up, everyone who actually understands the ramifications of this “1984 and beyondera” we have now entered… ‘took a stand’ “went dark”…

….well ok everyone except the Progs, liberals and the Low Info Dysfunctionites…

I used to say the Government was, piece by piece eroding and taking away our freedoms….This is one HUGE CHUNK and people (Americans) SHOULD BE SCARED…. none of this is moving in the right direction FOR ANY AMERICAN….

Our Power Company uses a different approach….they want to “Bill You Remotely” – Not have a ‘meter reader’ come out to read the meter… I say ‘nice touch’….

If you don’t mind paying the several meter readers wages, and the cost of the vehicles they use, that is fine. I will take the lower rate, or not having a rate increase as often. My main concern is all of the WiFi signals that are being sent through my body. I would like to see a different way of the info getting to the company.

I don’t want to stray off topic much, but I wanted to make these comments.

Hey Curt. Just wondering, do you think it’s time to maybe take the FaceBook “Like” option off the Flopping Aces pages?

Smorgasbord
you mention some facts that hit my BRAIN WAVES now racing to explain.
okay, WATCH THIS:
that is the WI FI HITTING SIGNALS THAT ARE BEING SENT THROUGH YOUR BODY ,
WOW, yes and who can tell the EFFECT on all earthbound things ,
and HUMAN in all the body from brain to feets to heart including HEART PACERS,
protheses manipulated by remote [WAVES] animals behavior sudden hype,
human behavior sudden hype, which kill also, the food we eat being already IRRADIATED,
while those WIFI penetrate your body, and if you are PREGNANT, the body of the EMBRYO ALL THE WAY TO BORN ,
you touch a subject un-research for effects,
and we notice many unexplaned behaviors on violence a lack of self restraint, a spur of violence here and there, an explosion of crimes toward other human and animals,
would the drug addicted at young ages be more receptive
than other du to the factor depletive of the brain cell by drugs
and to close this, what about THE WEIRDEST IDEAS AND ACTIONS and UN AMERICAN BEHAVIOR OF THE TOP LEADERSHIP AND THEIR TENDENCY TO TURN THE CITIZENS AGAINST EACH OTHER
with HATE AND GREED AND RACE NEGATIVENESS,
one BLACK YOUNG LAWYER QUIT THE OFFICE FOR BEING TOLD NOT TO EMPLOYE THE WHITE LAWYERS, and so many more attacks on the good PEOPLE by the IRS the EPA and other thousands AGENCIES created by this leader in 4YEARS plus
is in it a strange behavior might be connected to the ZILLIONS OF WIFI WAVES being the activator of anormal human behavior on some groups prone to HATE AND ALL THING NEGATIVES against the grain of being good or dangerous,
like favoring the ENEMIES SPECIALY IN TIME WHERE THE MILITARY ARE ON A WARZONE STAGE,
or stepping ON THE CONSTITUTION to snoop on the NATION, with always excuses naming SECURITY,
many more signs we notice that are opposit to normal one should be, especially more visible on the leaders which are being watch and heard, giving so many lies enough to confuse the young minds specialy targetted to hate opposit party to a degree anormal ,
is that the WIFI cause and effect be the CULPRIT?
anybody know? that would partialy explain some,
if nobody can give an answer, we better check it up because the negatives actions are escalating at a speed we can notice now.
Halfcarafe: thank you for the interesting POST

# 8 I totally understand what you are saying…my thoughts go to this being a ruse of some sort…I am suspicious because of “down the road” what will happen with so called smart ‘anything’ and the public subjected to it…Is Ofraud going to help with that ” lower rate?” I think not…since he is the one who said our electric rates “would skyrocket”… Besides, our town ‘asked the residents’ to rinse the recycle items “to save the town money” ….we won’t get a break on taxes by doing this…just a bigger water bill…you see the bull we are fed???? My point being with or without a ‘ meter reader’ we will not save or have a lowered bill or rate…:we will be paying for the technology used for that ‘ remote’ service…and who knows maybe more Government control..

Ever since the cell phone was invented, and the possible harm of its signal, I have thought that there should be long-term testing on rats or mice or whatever animal is most compatible to humans, to put a constant signal on the animals and study the long-term effects. As far as I know, this has never been done.

One thing I learned a long time ago is that there is almost always more to an issue than first thought. I don’t know enough about this one to form an opinion yet. I understand that smart meters would be able to turn off refrigerators and other high amperage machines when the demand is high. As I mentioned earlier, this would mean that the electric companies would be able to build fewer reserve generator stations to be able to supply the peak demand, and only be used for peak generation. How many times have we heard of brownouts, when the power company shuts off power to different section at different times to keep their whole power grid from going down?

This brings up something else to remember and pass on: When the power goes out in your area, turn off all of your switches, and unplug your high amperage devices as you can. Sometimes, when the power is turned back on, it goes out shortly afterward. This is because all electric devices use a lot more power to get started than to run after they are started. When the power comes back on, and all of the devices that were being powered when the power went out, there can be too much of a power surge for the system to handle, and it kicks out again.

I was glad you came in with that,
because I was interested the first time I heard of possible GENETIC alteration
in an EMBRYO, and other WARNING of effects by PEOPLE not scientific,
as I am not either but with a guts feeling which is not enough to be credible ,
but an interest in the subject
which make me remember right now that if I search GOOGLE, they might have answers
and by scientist,
I’ll let you know what I find there ,

hi, I did check with Google they took me to WIKIPEDIA
and WHAT I read is that all the WIFI waves from all
the one we use are under the number of dangerous effects,
so we are not in danger with the electronic componants we regurary use
laptop, printer , bluethoot, television , musical electronicaly connected,
microwave, and small kitchen gadget,
the maker of those are keeping the number below the zone of danger.
I ask at GOOGLE SEARCH for : WIFI danger on human,
and went to many explanations and rest on only one the second on the list.
we are not the only one worrying there are many more.
bye

Google and Wikipedia are owned by admitted liberals, and they edit out content they don’t want. I haven’t used them for years. Keep in mind that the testing done is with ONE device. How far away you are from them, and how many their are sending signals through you can add up.

A problem with the roving brown-out/black-outs is that they can damage electronic equipment when the power kicks back on to full power due to surge spikes. Which is why it is very important to have expensive electronics plugged into surge protectors. The component that does the protection is usually a thermistor. Most quality electronics manufactured since the 1980’s will have their own thermistor installed in the power supply circuitry, (if you open it up, the thermistor can be identified as a medium-blue disc shaped device that looks rather like a very fat flat capacitor.)

The thing about thermistors is that they can only take a certain amount of power (wattage) hits before they fail. It is much better to let the thermistor in an inexpensive power-strip take the hit, rather than the one that (may) reside within your costly electronic equipment, which (the thermistor) you may not be able to find later when it gives up the ghost.

Of course it is best to have a Battery Backup with Power Line Conditioning to plug your computer and monitor into, but it is very rare that home consumers will put out the extra bucks for that level of protection.

Incidentally, when you notice that the light on your surge protector (usually part of the power switch,) is flickering, that usually indicates that it’s thermistor protection is at it’s end.

I have had the battery backup for years. It can also shut down the computer properly when the battery gets to a low enough level. It only cost about $50, because it was made in China. Try to find one that isn’t.

Absolutely Smorg. That’s an added advantage of some UPS battery backup systems.

Try to find one that isn’t.

It’s getting extremely difficult to find products that are not made in China. Which is partly why unemployment is so high.

IT”S the first time I hear the word THERMISTOR

@ilovebeeswarzone:

I’m a trained electronic and computer systems repair technician. There are no doubt quite a few system devices I could name that you have never heard of. 😉

YES I am sure.
I don’t have that NSA but I can spot a person knowledge
of what they are talking about,

Whenever I am looking for something over the Internet, I type in, “made in usa”. Putting the phrase in quotation marks means you want that exact phrase, otherwise you will get millions of hits that have those three words in them. I found American made jeans for $30, American made leather gloves that didn’t cost as much as I thought they would, and other things that are, “Made In USA”. I figure the stuff I don’t buy very often, I can afford to pay a reasonably higher price to buy American made. I also don’t mind buying from countries who we are friendly with.

I just saw a show on tv, those two brothers decide to have their vacation in a place
where they replay the SOUTHERN BATTLE of the REPUBLIC,
they had look forward to go, so they are there in the uniform with musket with some hundreds other
in the field, and he has to go suddenly so he went in the woods behind to make it faster,
and when he pull down his zipper a big tick enter on his hum
it hurt much, and he decide to wait till he get back to camp,
he come back and tell his brother,
I have a tick on my ticker, [I can.t stop laughing]
his brother start to laugh out loud and the other turn their eyes on them and he tell everyone
of his brother tick they all laugh in the middle of their reconstruct battle all with musket shooting on their enemy laughing like nuts.
so he got to his camper and removed it with a twizer and the head must come with it or you have to cut of to get it,
he made sure of the head to be there out.
just to report that funny story it was really
accept or change,
bye

@Smorgasbord:

Agreed. I usually try to buy American first if I can (unless it is total cr@p). I’ll really enjoy acquiring American “antiquities” when I can find bona-fides and not cheap imitations. Unfortunately with computers you’re mostly stuck with buying imported parts.

@ilovebeeswarzone: #24
That is funny.
