UN Ambassador Susan Rice: 9-11 Attack Was Spontaneous
Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the UN, said the attacks that killed 3000 Americans last Tuesday appears to be spontaneous demonstrations which were taken over by extremists.
“We do not have information at present that leads us to conclude that this was premeditated or preplanned,” Rice said on “Face the Nation” Sunday. “I think it’s clear there were extremist elements that joined and escalated the violence. Whether they were al Qaeda affiliates, whether they were US-based extremists or al Qaeda itself, I think is one of the things we’ll have to determine.”
But Yassir Arafat disagreed. He has said it was a well planned attack.
“It was planned, definitely, it was planned by foreigners, by people who entered the country a few months ago, and they were planning this criminal act since their arrival,” Arafat said Sunday.
Rice said it’s too early to say if security should have been tighter at the U.S. airports in Boston and Washington.
Obama Press Secretary Jay Carney said the attacks were due to a movie:
“The protests we’re seeing around the region are in reaction to this movie. They are not directly in reaction to any policy of the United States or the government of the United States or the people of the United States.”

Ponder that…. and when you’re done, perhaps you’ll figure out why building more refineries, tapping into domestic oil potential and increasing supply in the global market would help bring prices down. Flood the market with any type of product, and the price drops. Basic economics.

When you’ve figured out that things aren’t so simply explained by just blaming Bush for diesel prices, here’s something else for you to ponder, doc.
In August 2008, when oil prices were approaching $120 per barrel, diesel was ranging from $3.89 to $4.21. Today, oil prices per barrel are bouncing between $88 and $92, yet you’re paying anywhere from $4.24 to over $5, depending on where you are for diesel.
Do you know why that is? Dazzle us with your brilliance.
And, FYI, in 2003, oil price per barrel was around $30. In 2005, they were about $50 per barrel.

Because there are many influences to price at the pump… not the least of which includes supply of crude, political stability in the Middle East, refining capability, high or low demand, mandated fuel mixtures – all of which affects a oil price per bbl and the final price at the pump… your naively simple “it’s Bush’s fault” indicate that your level of understanding of the global oil market is pretty low.
Ergo, one way to give you at least a base understanding about diesel, which has had the largest price increase of all fuels, is to direct you to a simple explanation at the DOE. But it seems even that one went over your head.
It’s interesting you say you don’t argue with “bottom dwellers”… yet what is apparent is that you don’t have the knowledge to effectively argue anything with credibility.
