Obama’s indifference to our troops in the field who actually put their lives on the line is typical of nearly all imperial leaders of history. However we cannot excuse this blatant callousness on the personalities of history; we have those who train beyond the limits of ordinary troops and who risk unspeakable savagery by maniacal enemy for whom our president and our Secretary of State have undeniable sympathies. For their commitment, they only ask for anonymity. They don’t wish to make speeches and show up on late-night talk shows with adoring celebrities fawning and slobbering over them. They only ask to be able to do their dark and often times bloody work in secret. The integrity of the mission is foremost, the survival of their comrades is important, but they also need to protect their families from reprisals from the same group Obama reaches out for; it is unusual for them to speak out, but our president’s behavior has compelled them to take a stand and expose Obama’s duplicity. In the final analysis, these anonymous heroes are concerned that our national security is being compromised by the president to score political points.

Well, news flash, Greg, our soldiers are still dying in those foreign theaters, but you are mute now on all of Obama’s golf playing. Since Obama took office, U.S. military deaths have more than doubled in the 3 1/2 years Obama’s been in office. Where is the outrage from the left? Where is the demand to show the 1,728 flag drapped coffins returning to Dover since Obama took office that existed when George Bush was president? Why do the U.S. military dead not count with the liberal media now that a socialist is in the Oval Office?

My vote is foolish, retire05. For every “fact” Greg slams conservatives, GOPers, and Bush for, he excuses the same actions or words that liberal/progressives engage in, particularly Obama.
For example; Did Bush engage in “crony capitalism”? It can be argued that he did, and Greg lambasts the GOP for doing so during Bush’s eight years. However, three and a half years into Obama’s term and Greg has yet to denounce any similar activity, and indeed, defends Obama nearly every chance he gets, regardless of the actual facts. I’m sure the demolition of the pipeline from Canada was not an engagement in “crony capitalism” on behalf of his friend Warren Buffet. For this, Greg is hypocritical, and as such, cannot be regarded as an objective participant in discussions, no matter what they entail.

It is obvious that Obama simply gives lip service to those issues he claims to care so much about. He wants to dump billions of dollars into failed “green” energy projects, like Solyndra and a whole host of other companies that have either already gone belly up or are in the process of filing bankruptcy, but killed the pipe line.

Democrats have a right to be worried about November. Unemployment rates have no way of getting any better in the next few months, and prices continue to increase. Gas just went up 10 cents overnight in my area. Hamburger, that was $2.89/lb at HEB (Texas grocery chain) in January, 2009 is not $4.89/lb. Cereal prices are skyrocketing (the price we pay when we grow ethanol corn while cutting back on food corn) and the left continues to say “No, no, don’t look over here. Look over there. We are going to take care of you. We are going to give you food stamps, and cut your FICA taxes (depleting that program even faster) and we are going to dump 1.7 million illegals into an already depressed employment market. But have no fear. We have it under control. Remember, the only reason that Socialism has never worked before is because WE were not in charge of it.”

I’d say she’s still pretty brave.
