Weekly Open Thread: Harry Reid Is A Pederast Edition

By 35 Comments 1,923 views

Been awhile since we had an open thread up but I figured the news that Reid is a pedophile is a good opportunity to put one up.

Of course we have no evidence he is one but the burden of proof is still on Harry Reid to disprove this claim.

As you know by now, when baseless but serious charges are laid against a powerful political figure, it is the responsibility of the maligned individual to prove their innocence.

With that understanding, I requested comment from Harry Reid’s office on the swirling charges that someone said they heard from someone that Harry Reid is pederast.

The email response from Reid Spokesman Adam Jentleson can only be characterized as chilling:

Its an open thread so discuss any issue you like.

    While we’re at it, we might as well let everyone know that Nancy Pelosi has been raising millions giving hummers to the guys down at the homeless shelters. I know they can’t pay much, but she makes it up in volume. Her name down there is cum dumpster.

    I’ve also heard that Barney Frank is jealous.

    I like Aces take on it, asks some very good questions….Reid needs to come clean on this…

    Invisible Tears

    An account in memory of Harry Reid’s victims, both unknown and known.

    The American public is entitled to know whether its Majority Leader is, or is not, or likely is, a pederast.

    If Harry Reid isn’t a pederast, why is everyone saying he is? People don’t just make up vicious smears for political advantage.

    Even if there’s only a one in three chance Harry Reid is a pederast, are we really going to let that one child suffer?

    If Harry Reid isn’t a pederast, how come no DC liberals ever ask him to babysit?

    The issue here isn’t whether Harry Reid is, or isn’t, or is a pederast. The question is only “What are we going to do about it?”

    I’m not saying Harry Reid is a pederast. That’s for the courts to say.

    I’m saying there are children located in what I call “The Danger Zone” around Harry Reid. Do we gamble their innocence so lightly?

    I have no proof that Harry Reid is guilty of pederasty, but can we at least keep kids out of the Harry Reid Molestation Perimeter?

    You can’t convict him in the press; obviously, this is America. But can we at least require him to wear a big hat that says LIKELY PEDERAST?

    Harry Reid’s defenders say, “You can’t convict a man of pederasty based only on him being a pederast.” I find their position untenable.

    I think the important question is not, as some ask, “Is Harry Reid a pedophile?” The important question is “Why do DC Democrats enable him?”

    hey media, can we at least make sure Harry Reid’s victims are alive before ignoring them?

    Harry Reid owes a full accounting on behalf of all he’s killed.

    We need to begin petitioning a statue commemorating the victims of Harry Reid, including all the unknown ones.

    We need a Tomb of the Unknown Harry Reid Sex-Murder Victim. Can we do any less?

    Why does Harry Reid not support the Victims of Harry Reid Memorial?

    If Harry Reid has nothing to hide, why hasn’t he contacted authorities? Why hasn’t he pointed out where he buried his victims bodies?

    If Harry Reid didn’t kill those boys he victimized, then how come they’re not around to testify against him? Think about it.

    I can’t say if these charges are true. Only the evidence and his countless victims can say that.

    Let me just ask one legitimate question, containing no unfair implications whatsoever: Why does Harry Reid own gardening tools?

    Why does he own trashbags? Why does he have a car with a trunk? These are reasonable questions that he must answer.

    Does Harry Reid, or does he not, own any rope, twine, or extension cords easily used as ligatures and bonds?

    Harry Reid says he’s a big fan of baseball and car racing. Like a lot of young boys are. I guess that’s just “another coincidence,” huh?

    Why does Harry Reid, the Searchlight Maniac, own duct tape?

    Because we believe in due process and the presumption of innocence, for now please refer to him simply as “alleged pedophile Harry Reid.”

    It’s impossible to imagine that this could be proven without evidence.
    On the other hand, it’s conceivable that if evidence existed to support the proposition, it could be true.
    Without evidence proving its truth, therefore, we are left merely with evidence that the proposition exists and is awaiting evidence of its truth.
    Why won’t he deny this obvious evidence? For shame.

  5. 7

    Whaddaya mean “no evidence” evidence Reid is a pederast? He certainly looks like one – which according to Reid’s Law of Accusations means he must buy national TV time and conclusively demonstrate that he is not a chickenhawk. Certainly he doesn’t object to being held to the same standard he has repeatedly imposed on others.

  6. 8

    I have waited and waited, and still no sign that the aforementioned evidence has been refuted.

    I am now inclined to think that the preponderance of evidence points to a preponderance of evidence in this regard. Absolutely disgraceful.

  7. 9

    And let me be clear: the evidence is clear that there is evidence that if the evidence were available, it would conclusively prove Reid’s disgusting behavior. Horrific. And loathsome. Senator, resign now.

    Human Person Junior, Jr.

    I don’t know if Harry Reid is a pederast. However, there are two simple ways he can establish his innocence. The police can use a polygraph machine, as well as a penile plethysmograph, to establish his innocence. I can’t reveal the source of the allegation of Senator Reid’s pederasty, but he himself can lay this matter to rest. He needs to report to the local police station and have them begin testing. If he refuses to clear his name, the nation can draw their own conclusions as to his guilt or innocence. Just like Governor Romney and the tax returns.

    Sua Sponte’s exposition above was masterful and brilliant!

    Dennis in PA

    If Senator Harry Man Love Reid uses the code word “juvenile” to deny the allegations against him, we’ll all know what that means, won’t we?

  10. 13

    This reminds me of the blowback against the ESPN college football analyst, Craig James, when his tv commentary, regarding an incident with his son at Texas Tech, got the head football coach fired, with virtually no evidence against him.

    Football fans across the nation reacted with a campaign to smear Craig James’ name by linking him with killing 5 hookers while he played at SMU. Unfair? So was what happened to Texas Tech’s coach.

    As for Reid, I’ll wait patiently until he proves to us, once and for all, that he didn’t pull a Sandusky with all of those poor children.

    Richard Wheeler

    Yahrite, Sua Sponte and J.G. You all simply DEMEAN yourselves and look exceedingly foolish and vindictive with such stupid comments.

  12. 15

    Mike O’Malley

    @Richard Wheeler:

    Of course Senator Reid wouldn’t be the one looking foolish now, would he?

    While you are thinking that over Richard you might want to consider what’s best for the children. You can do the right thing. Insist that Harry Reid to disprove this claim. The burden of proof is on him you know.

  13. 17

    @Richard Wheeler:

    It’s called “making a point”, Rich. Reid’s accusations were so over the top that they deserve the scorn they are getting.

    None of us really believe what we have accused Reid of. We could have just as easily accused him of sleeping with his undocumented maid, or being a silent partner of the Bunny Ranch, or being a drug kingpin, etc. The point is, it’s ridiculous of Reid to make an accusation about someone and then demand that they prove themselves innocent. That runs completely counter to our Constitution, and being that Reid is a sitting US Senator makes that an even more egregious offense towards another US citizen.

    And of course our comments are “stupid”, Rich. That’s kind of the whole point here, about Reid.

  14. 18

    Mike O’Malley

    @Richard Wheeler:

    Naugh, it means they are helping Senator Reid look duly and truly foolish. 😉 This is a good thing. Senator Reid chose to employ a tactic akin to accusatory tactic of Comité de salut public (the Committee of Public Safety) There is no place for Senator Reid’s tactic in American democracy … one would hope. Doesn’t Senator Reid’s tactic make you feel uncomfortable Richard?

  15. 19

    Liberal1 (objectivity)

    All Romney has to do is release more of his tax returns—to show that Reid is a fool. But he probably needs the time to ‘retroactively’ clean up his tax records—like he did in the Massachusetts’ gubernatorial race (and Bain Capital).

  16. 20

    Human Person Junior, Jr.

    @Liberal1 (objective) — Objective my WFA!

    We’re not claiming Reid to be a fool. We’re naming him a “dirty liar,” and a deceiver. We’re calling him one of the worst Senators in history, for taking to the floor of the Senate to make his sleazy remarks.

    No, Harry Reid is no fool. For him, the status of fool would be a promotion.

  17. 21

    Richard Wheeler

    J.G. From others I expect it. Not from you.
    Mike See my #16. I’d add that like J.G. I believe in a fair tax. Would abolish the I.R.S. asap

    Human Person Reid was absolutely beatable and Repubs. ran Sharron Angle a Tea Party candidate that was truly awful, You stole defeat from the jaws of victory.

  18. 22

    @Richard Wheeler:
    This was started by Ace over at Ace of Spades HQ. Rich, there are many on the right that are tired of turning the other cheek. Over the last 40 years, the only thing it has gotten us is slapped even harder. Breitbart lit a fire that turned into an inferno for many.
    While I’m not willing to jump in with Dr J. on the Harry and his father post, I’m quite ok with this one. If Reid wants to make unfounded accusations, then he opens himself up to tactics such as this. You jumped all over JG for being McCarthy-like for supporting the letter sent by Bachmann, et al that has caused the Huma Abedin story. You base this on unfounded accusations, yet Bachmann at least has a report cited in the letter and lists her sources. Reid says he “heard from someone,” and the left is saying all Romney has to do is show the taxes and this will die. Which is more McCarthy-like. You jump on JG and others, but you give Lib1 a free ride.

  19. 23

    Richard Wheeler

    Aqua In #16 I said Reid looks foolish. Stupid if you prefer. In #19 I suggested Repubs. can blame themselves for the fact he is still around. Sharron Angle was unelectable.
    Agree with Mata that Bachmann has over stepped. McCarthy was worse.

    @Richard Wheeler:
    Yeah, it was Republicans’ fault that NV union employees were forcibly rounded up election day by their union bosses and taken, en masse, to their polling places on buses and ordered to vote, get and display the ”I’ve Voted” sticker or be fired.

  21. 26

    @Richard Wheeler:

    In #19 I suggested Repubs. can blame themselves for the fact he is still around. Sharron Angle was unelectable.

    I don’t live in Nevada, but if I did I wouldn’t have voted for Angle in the primary.

    Aqua In #16 I said Reid looks foolish. Stupid if you prefer.

    There are many stupid and foolish members in congress, on both sides. But taking the floor of the Senate and laying accusations against a presidential nominee based on hearsay is borderline criminal. If Mitch McConnell took the floor of the Senate tomorrow and stated that someone from the NBA Commissioner’s office called him and told him he knows President Obama was having an affair with an NBA player, it would be no different than what Harry Reid just did.
    And according to Nancy Pelosi, if he had that conversation, that makes it true.

  22. 27

    Mike O’Malley

    @Richard Wheeler:

    Human Person Reid was absolutely beatable and Repubs. ran Sharron Angle a Tea Party

    Harry Reid and crew maneuvered Sharron Angle to victory in the Republican primary because the Reid Campaign had sized Angle up and determined that she was the weakest Republican Candidate in the race.

  23. 28

    @Richard Wheeler:

    Do you understand what satire is, Rich? That is what I, and others, have engaged in, in order to show how ridiculous Reid’s accusations are.

    You can climb off of your morally ambiguous horse anytime, Rich.

    Ilyan Kei Lavanway

    Harry Reid is as bad as Obama. They both must go! And Harry Reid is a Mormon. He has no excuse . I am a Mormon, too, and I know how strict the honor code is. I know how well the Mormons are expected to uphold the Constitution and preserve America’s liberty. The Book of Mormon shows ancient prophets predicted that our founding fathers would be inspired by God.

    How Harry Reid can remain a Mormon and take the stances he takes in politics is appalling. I cannot understand it. Furthermore, why do so many people criticize Mitt Romney for being Mormon, and then turn around and embrace Harry Reid without making an issue of Reid’s membership in the LDS Church?

  25. 30

    Richard Wheeler

    J. G. Have you seen me condone or support Reid’s actions on the Senate floor? Accusing him of being a pedophile like Sandusky isn’t satire John.
    ” None of us here really believe what we have accused Reid of ” How can you speak to the mindset of those like Sua Sponte or Dr. John? You can’t.
    Suggest folks like Aye Chi, Mata and Word display a much higher standard of Conservatism than you. They are why I keep coming back.

    @Richard Wheeler: You’re wrapped tighter than an ants a** stretched over a 55 gallon drum high speed…Take a break a maybe read a book on sarcasm and satire and if unable to do that I suggest staying away from pointy objects….

    @Richard Wheeler:

    Accusing him of being a pedophile like Sandusky isn’t satire John.

    Yes, Rich, it is.

    How can you speak to the mindset of those like Sua Sponte or Dr. John? You can’t.

    Your point is only valid if you believe that we, everyone here who has uttered the same, actually do believe what we’ve written about Reid. And if you do believe that, then you most certainly are engaging in the ‘blind prejudice’ I spoke of in the other topic.

    Suggest folks like Aye Chi, Mata and Word display a much higher standard of Conservatism than you.

    Whatever makes you sleep better at night, Rich. I don’t need your approval in order to feel decent about myself.

    Again, you can climb off of your morally ambiguous horse anytime.

    @Ilyan Kei Lavanway:

    Furthermore, why do so many people criticize Mitt Romney for being Mormon, and then turn around and embrace Harry Reid without making an issue of Reid’s membership in the LDS Church?

    For the same reasons the same people criticize Evangelical Christians for being Christian and then turn around and embrace Barrack Obama when Barrack professes to be some sort of Christian. I’d guess that in their hearts they don’t really believe Reid and Obama are faithful to their professed faiths. I expect that they are confident that both men will betray their professed faiths in the interest of progressive political ideology as a matter of course. It is similar with Nancy Pelosii who regularly takes it upon herself to contradict the bishops on the particulars of the Catholic doctrine despise the appearance that Pelosi in effect ex-communicated herself decades ago.

    Archbishop’s Journal – Free Will, Conscience and Moral Choice: What Catholics believe

    By Archbishop George H. Niederauer

    Pelosi had a 15-minute audience with the pope. The meeting was closed to the media, but the Vatican released excerpts of Benedict’s comments. Among them: Benedict reminded Pelosi of the Catholic Church’s teaching “on the dignity of human life from conception to natural death.”

    The Vatican statement further said: “His Holiness took the opportunity to speak of the requirements of the natural and moral law and the Church’s consistent teaching on the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. It said such teaching “enjoins all Catholics, and especially legislators, jurists and those responsible for the common good of society, to work in cooperation with all men of goodwill in creating a just system of laws capable of protecting human life at all stages of its development.”

    The House Speaker also released a statement after the meeting, but Pelosi’s statement didn’t mention the abortion disagreement.

    CNSNews.com asked Pelosi at her press briefing on Thursday: “In August, HHS issued a proposed regulation under the new health care law that would require that all health care plans cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives. The U.S. Catholic bishops have called the regulation an unprecedented attack on religious freedom and have asked HHS to drop it. Do you agree with the bishops?”

    Noting that she is “a devout Catholic,” Pelosi said she sometimes disagrees with the Catholic bishops when they act as “lobbyists.”

    “I don’t know if I agree with your characterization of what the HHS put forth,” Pelosi said, “but as a mother of five children in six years, as a devout Catholic, I have great respect for our bishops when they are my pastor. As lobbyists in Washington D.C., we have some areas of disagreement.

    Over at Hot Air’s Green Room, http://hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2012/08/08/obama-campaigns-phony-jobs-numbers/ there is an incredible expose on the utter dishonesty of Obama’s interactive graph at http://www.barackobama.com/jobsrecord.

    If you place your cursor of any of the red or blue bars to see the number of jobs that were lost by or added to the economy for any given month.
    But the Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs reports for each month tells totally different numbers!

    Like, Jan 2012:
    Obama says 277,000 jobs were added.
    But the Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report for January indicates that only 243,000 jobs were added.

    Or June 2010.
    Obama’s graph would have you believe that the economy grew by 92,000 jobs, while
    the BLS jobs report for the same period shows a decline of 125,000 jobs!

    And before Obama took office all the errors run in the opposite direction.
    According to Obama’s graph, the economy bled 294,000 jobs in August of 2008.
    The BLS report for the same period, which shows a loss of only 84,000 jobs.

    Ya gotta see it to believe it.
