Obama’s Illegal Alien Aunt Makes Demands [Reader Post]

If I come as an immigrant, you have an obligation to make me a citizen”

So says Obama Aunt Zeituni Onyango.

Onyango got permission to visit here in 2000 and overstayed her welcome. She sought asylum in 2003 and was turned down. She stayed anyway.

Although on the public dole, she managed to donate $260 to Barack OBama’s Presdential campaign. That’s illegal, of course. Michael Graham notes with irony:

Aunt Zeituni donated $260 to her nephew’s campaign for president – which is also against the law because she’s not a U.S. citizen. How against the law is it? Remember when the president launched his unprecedented attack against the Supreme Court during his State of the Union? His complaint was that foreigners might donate money to influence U.S. elections.

She brazenly flaunts her illegal status:

Aunt Zeituni’s case puts the lie to the old canard that all criminal immigrants are here to work. She gets a stipend from a city program, along with her housing. In fact, as the Center for Immigration Studies points out, illegal immigrant households are far more likely to be on the dole than the average American. She also highlights the obvious truth of the Heritage Foundation study that our 12 million illegal immigrants are a $2.2 trillion net drain on the taxpayers over the course of their lifetimes.

And the city of Boston is just too happy to oblige.

Grahama also notes that Onyango has a millionaire relative living in Washington DC who has yet to offer to aid to her.

“To me America’s dream became America’s worst nightmare,” said Onyango who was granted asylum in May 2010. “I have been treated like public enemy number one.”

Onyango conveniently ignores the fact that she is an illegal alien. The American Dream is not meant for those who are inclined to ignore and disrespect the laws of this country.

She says she did not take advantage of the system, but rather the system took advantage of her.

When asked how she pays for her reportedly expensive immigration attorney, she said

“When you believe in Jesus Christ and you >unintelligible< almighty God, my help comes from Heaven."

Pretty cool. I’d love to dial into some of that.

The whole nauseating interview is here:

Nope. I am not obligated to offer her anything. 😛

This only adds fuel to the fire over illegal aliens. Remember in November!

Wow, where can I get her attorney’s business card?
I’m an immigrant myself. I came to work as a teacher in a High School. In order to keep my visa status I had to get positive evaluations from my supervisors. I had to go back to my country (Spain) every three years to renew my visa. I got an attorney to process my Green Card application, and after 8 years in USA, it is likely that I will get it in another 3 or 4 years.
In all these years I’ve not even gone to the doctor (luckily).

… and now I just found out that you guys have the obligation to make me a citizen!

So far I have always felt in debt with this country, but this lady thinks this country is in debt with her. What great accomplishment has she done for this country?

The welfare state organizes society in such a way that the student that works, makes all efforts at school, and tries to get good grades, in ten or fifteen years will be paying the unemployment and medical expenses to the student that doesn’t study, doesn’t care, and disrupts. And yet, this one will say that the society owes him.

That silence you hear os MSM and the democrat party not giving a damn that laws were broken. neeener neener poo-poo

scriptamanent: Welcome, I am sorry it is so obviously corrupt. Please remember it is our President and his Progressive Socialists who are perpetuating this ongoing crime. I commend you for your persistence and wish you the best of luck.

Please remember if anyone on these pages makes the same mistakes on their taxes that Tim Geitner, the tax cheat and the only man in the country capable of heading up the treasury, made on his taxes, we would be facing prison time. That is the corruption that is leading this country.

Charley Rangel, let me tell you about the Korean War, is another example. He can’t be trusted to do his own taxes and run his own affairs, yet he is charge of running everything for the rest of the country. Again, if he were one of us he would be headed for prison.

This government is a disgrace and an embarrassment; if we can’t turn it around, I am afraid you may have gone through all that effort for nothing. For it is fairly easy to emigrate to Socialist countries, because everyone else is leaving. The one condition is having the funds: if Obama is allowed to continue with his programs for two more years the people with money will be gone and the rest of us will have fallen down the outhouse hole.

Let’s put an end to her nightmare (and ours) by giving her a one-way ticket back to Kenya.

Looks like arrogance and Narcissism is a family trait.

There’s some guys that hang out at the store where I buy coffee on my way to work that would like a nice home with an income and an expensive attorney; maybe I should write Obama and ask him if he wants to help them out. They need some serious help.

Skookum, there is nothing to commend me for (I was just being sarcastic in my comment). This country gave me a VISA with certain conditions and I was OK with them, I accepted them. I brought my work and USA offered me a lot of opportunities. I knew the steps that I had to go through if I wanted to stay, so I have nothing to complain about. I found here what I was looking for and much more.

But I can’t understand that people start in a foreign country breaking the law (entering or remaining illegally) and then they say the country is in debt with them.

Believe me, I know what Socialism is. In Spain the Socialist party in power has ruined the country in less than 8 years. In some Spanish conservative radio stations and media, Obama is called “the American Zapatero”.

Toothfairy, the thing is that you and me would be paying the ticket with our taxes.

we have the obligation to kick her butt out of the country. I am sick and tired of illegals draining the resources of the country. Now that our economy is in the tank, illegals ARE taking away jobs that US citizens need and want. It is pure hog wash they work for less. The issue is that employers pay either under the table or through 1099 avoiding taxes and THEY should be penalized too. Even if the illegal works for less money than a legal citizen, their discretionary income is MORE because they do not pay taxes. Figure it out.

California is the poster child for states going under because of illegals. Does it take a rocket scientist to figure out that you can only give out so much money without any coming in before you go bankrupt? Evidently for some.

Plus as an aside I am sick and tired of everything being written in Spanish. I am of German decent. I see nothing to accommodate my language. What makes hispanics believe, legal and illegal they deserve more. This is the United States of America and the language is ENGLISH. If you don’t want to learn, don’t let the borders hit you on the butt when you are leaving.

Am I angry? You betcha.

Sarcasm is great, if you pass it out, you must be able to take when it is handed to you.

scriptamanent: Ah! You have sarcasm, you should do well here. We pass it around on a regular basis, no quarter asked, none given. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Now please, the American Zapatero, that was funny. Except for the fact that he is El Presdente.

En Washington la cadena del servicio no funciona. El desague esta embozado. Lo siento.

Mi Spanish is barn Spanish, but you get the idea, I’m sure.

My wife is a legal immigrant. She was brought here when she was 12. She is now a US Citizen. On 4 July she arrived back in the states following a tour in Iraq. She has over 20 years of service active and reserve time in the US Army. She was in Saudi Arabia and Iraq during the First Gulf War in the 1 Armor Division.
Asked why she is in the Army she will tell you one of the reasons is she remembers the US Soldiers as a little girl in Vietnam and how they fought for her and her country to give them freedom and she want to give back to this nation.
She works and pays taxes.
Obama wife was an adult before she was ever proud of this nation. My wife has been proud of this nation for decades.
Does Obama’s ungrateful aunt and here entitlement attitude make me and my wife mad. Dammed Right.

JR1984: Thanks for sharing that wonderful story.

I don’t know what’s more depressing, the boldfaced arrogance of Zeituni or the fact that it really doesn’t surprise me. She’s the perfect postergirl for the Obama administration, and all that it represents in American government.

Apples don’t fall far from trees.

Meanwhile, for at least 5 years this “immigrant” has illegally occupied housing built & maintained with tax payer money intended to provide housing for less well-off citizens of the United States. Since when are we obligated to provide anything to robbers who invade our home?

Welcome scriptament and JR1984! your personal stories turned a thread I expected would cause anger and frustration into pleasant reading. Wish you both all the best! and thanks for sharing.

We owe this woman nothing, but, in this situation I say we cut our losses, “give” her a Hillary stove and a one-way ticket to Kenya. 😉

Someone seriously needs to look into Aunt Tooty and see who is actually paying the bills. Where is Andrew Breitbart? lol

Aleric, 9 will get you 10 that the person paying Aunties bills are the Taxpayers of the Socialist People’s Republic of Taxachusetts. For many decades they have maintained a “welfare” program other than the one commonly referred to as Welfare that provides for ex-cons, households with two adult members, ex-drug addicts, illegal immigrants and the like. Remember, if she were a LEGAL immigrant she would have had to have demonstrated a capacity to support herself in order to immigrate AND somebody would have had to have sponsored her, guaranteeing that she would not become a public charge.

It would be an easy fix if we billed the nearest relatives for those illegal aliens (they are not immigrants, they are illegal aliens) since they probably induced them to come and live off the public dole in the first place. This is rotten to the core, we do not need the indigent relatives of millionaires given preferential treatment for welfare funds.

This Post and the comments are ample evidence of the confusion and frustration that exists in perspectives on immigration, . . . . Many ILLEGAL immigrants are hard working individuals whose sweat strengthens the country and are exactly what a free and thriving society needs, while Many LEGAL immigrants are leaches on the taxpayer who deliver no positive contribution.

There is NOTHING LEGAL about Obama’s aunt. She was ordered to go home and she failed follow our laws. She is a criminal and leech living off of the American taxpayers and Obamas name. Neither of which is something to have pride in.

James, you could not possibly be more incorrect about LEGAL immigrants. In order to legally immigrate to this country you need to fill out an application, pay a fee of about $500, go through a lengthy approval process that includes criminal background checks and complete physicals. You have to prove that you have a job or the means to support yourself. You must have a sponsor who guarantees that you will not become a public charge.

ILLEGAL immigrants are essentially squatters. They break into your house, sleep in your bed & eat up your groceries without a by your leave or may I. It really does not matter how hard they work or how nicely they keep your house because they do not have the right to be there in the first place, having broken and entered.

And one other thing to keep in mind about those hard working ILLEGAL immigrants who skipped the entire immigration process: most of the “hard workers” work in conditions that are tantamount to slavery. Sure, they cook your food at the Chinese joint and wait on tables and provide services down at the massage parlor, but they do so under duress. Most of the money they earn goes to pay the traffickers who brought them here in the first place.

@ Granny,

While I would agree that probably most Legals pull their share of the load, and most illegals don’t, my point is that there are plenty of both who also don’t fit that mold.

It is a sad fact that there are millions of those hard workers who enable us to afford vegetables and fruit we might not otherwise be able to eat. Most homes built in California over the past 20 years, for example, were built just a little more cheaply because some of the labour was provided by illegal labourers. Should the owners of the businesses be fined? What of those who purchase those cheaper veggies? The problem isn’t pretty. No one else seems to want to work in those fields in Castro Valley (again, for example).

@ Granny. Since the Feds are not minding the gate, Why wait in line????

There’s your Hope and Change in a hand basket!

James Raider;

You speak of illegals giving us cheap food. The below link is a article called cheap tomatos. Bottom line is there is no such thing.

http://www.hyscience.com/archives/2008/05/cheap_tomatoes.php

There is no such thing as a free lunch. Someone always pays.

@ JR1984,

I agree that there’s no free lunch. Society pays somehow. But, That’s not my point.

When you purchase those cheaper tomatoes, you don’t see the overhang on the price. You just see that you’re paying less for tomatoes or artichokes in that moment. That price you see is what you make the “purchase” decision on, . . . period. We all do.

. . . Just like every WallMart in North America is filled with made in China products from towels to furniture, . . . we make the decision based on the price tag, not the fact that millions of jobs have been exported.

James. I agree and people do not wish to see that cost. I teach economics and as I told one of my students argueing about illegals “doing work that Americans won’t” I told her that maybe we should end welfare. 😯 😉 An empty belly is a heck of a motivator.

@scriptament #9: Yes, but we’re been footing her bill for five years. The ticket would be a one-time expense and put an end to the gravy train. Of course, as Skookum suggested, we could always bill her nearest relative. I’m sure her nephew can afford it.

James, that whole “illegals let us buy cheaper tomatoes” is a huge fallacy. I live smack dab in the middle of the largest farm production area in the Northeast. We grow plenty of tomatoes and corn and cukes and so on. We also used to be known for our shade tobacco, used for cigar wrappers. When I was a teen long ago and far away (not THAT far) every single teen in the county worked in agriculture during the summer and we made a bundle of money – plenty for clothes and cars and spending money that our parents did not provide. It was almost shameful to not work. By the time my kids were teens, all those agricultural jobs were being done by immigrants here on HB visas – no jobs for the kids. If they were lucky enough to be college age, there was a ton of work available in the tourist industry, both private and great jobs in all of our national parks. Now THOSE jobs are all either farmed out to folks from overseas here on temporary HB visas or the entire operation – like the concessions in the national parks – have been farmed out to overseas companies. If you visit the Grand Canyon the only Americans you will come across are the park rangers. All of the other jobs are done by foreigners.

These jobs are NOT being done by illegals. Foreigners, yes, but not illegals. All of these people working on the farms of New England, making beds at fancy hotels in the Hamptons & Disney World or selling you a postcard at Yellowstone are here legally as temporary help.

Tomatoes? The very cheapest tomatoes that I can buy are not the ones flown in from Central America or picked by “illegals” in Florida or California. They are the ones that are raised in a greenhouse operation right here in Vermont. And you know what? I would pay $1 more a pound for tomatoes if I knew that the money was going to help my neighbor’s kid raise money for college or the woman down the street afford books so she could go to nursing school.

We buy cheap stuff at Walmart not because it is cheap but because Walmart literally put American manufacturers of small appliances out of business. They went to China, ordered up TVs (made mostly by forced labor at that time0 that not a single American company could meet the price of if they sold them at cost and then told US manufacturers that if they couldn’t meet the price they couldn’t sell at Walmart. They don’t. Matter of fact, they don’t sell anywhere.

@ Granny,

When I was about 13/14 I spent a summer working for a farmer picking strawberries, so I’m familiar with that past scenario, however, if teens today really want that work, it’s available. I think expectations have changed, and in too many individuals, the work ethic has vacated the premises when it comes to laborious physical work – not in all, but in too many.

Re: “I would pay $1 more a pound for tomatoes if I knew that the money was going to help my neighbor’s kid raise money for college or the woman down the street afford books so she could go to nursing school.”

That’s probably the case for almost everyone else. I think the big question is: Where is that tipping point when the cost becomes too much for the product or produce, and you no longer purchase local? Doesn’t matter whether it’s the tomato or the TV. We all have the power to refuse to consume foreign made goods. The only thing we absolutely need is food, but we don’t absolutely need that China-made TV. There also has not been any overt “demand” for products made locally. I don’t think I’ve seen any signs of demonstrations outside a WalMart clamouring about the source of their products.

@ JR1984,

What kind of response do you get to “we should end welfare?” . . . An empty belly sure is a motivator. In fact, it is the single biggest energizer of revolutions. People can take a great deal of abuse, but evidence says that when an individual cannot feed his family, he takes to the streets with a pitch fork.

@scriptamanent: #3 What the unemployed need to do is go down to Mexico, become a Mexican citizen, sneak into the USA, then they will have it made. They will be getting more than I am getting from Social Security, and I paid into it all of my working life.

Well, Axelrod is stepping down from his WH advisor position so maybe a little bit of nepotism is in order. That way she could at least be getting a paycheck.

James.
I am talking about putting our own people to work. We have been so generous with welfare that a lot are to sorry to work as the government gives them everything. No welfare and a lot would go to work to fill thier bellys.
Just think if we were to cut Obama’s aunt off. Either Obama or some church would offer her assistance but not our taxes.

JR, it is not that we’ve been too generous. In point of fact, we are not very generous with welfare benefits. Here in my home state a mother and one child does not get enough in total cash benefits to afford to rent even a single room, to say nothing of a small apartment.

And then we put all these roadblocks in the way. Can’t have any assets. Can’t have a car worth more than $1500. Can’t have any cash on hand. If granny gives the kid a $5 bill in the birthday card it is welfare fraud if you don’t report it. As the kids get to be teens it gets worse: if they babysit or are lucky enough to get a job at McDonald’s every single dime they make comes off the family Welfare allotment dollar for dollar – even after they turn 18 and are no longer on the family welfare check.

It isn’t that we are so generous people love to lay around on Welfare. What 15 year old kid is going to go get a job he would otherwise love to have if every penny he makes – EVERY PENNY – has to be turned over to Welfare? Who can reliably get back and forth to work in a $1500 car when you can’t have any cash on hand?

Welfare is not the problem. Neither is Section 8 – those housing subsidies make it possible for a lot of people to actually get out of the system. The problem is allowing illegal aliens who have broken the law to get or stay here to access benefits that American citizens wait years to get – and often never do. You might recall a story from somewhere down south a few weeks back – Georgia maybe – where they opened the housing list for the first time in a decade. A DECADE. They expected 10,000 people. 30,000 people showed up. American citizens have waited a full 10 years to even put their name on a list to get a small housing subsidy (which does not mean they will actually get one!) while people like Obama’s aunt get skipped to the top.

Yes antics, you have an excellent point there, Obama’s Kenyan aunt is an excellent spin meister, sort of like the Won, must be a family trait.

@Granny: #35 I don’t mind helping people who NEED it. Most welfare recipients don’t NEED the help. Many years ago one community started a policy that for someone to get welfare they had to take one of the jobs that was available. The recipients figured that if they HAD to work for the money, they would get a better job than what they had, and they got a better job and off welfare.

The welfare workers saw that they would be loosing their jobs and sued, saying you can’t force people to work for their welfare money, and they won.

Granny;
If we STOPPED giving welfare and and all the other programs out there to illegals and started to enfoce our laws; both on on illegal aliens and their employers that would force a lot of them back home. That would put pressure on employers to raise wages and get some of our citizens on welfare off the programs.
As far as housing goes I saw the story you spoke of. My question is where are they living now without assistace? They are obviously living somewhere. I know when I drive down the interstate I do not see them under the overpasses. Could it be they are living with friends and family. Should it not be the role of the family and not government to provide some of these things?

I love the following quote from on of our brilliant Founding Fathers, Ben Franklin. “I am for doing good to the poor, but…I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed…that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer. “
