Jesse Jackson the Jerk has his Jalopy Jacked [Reader Post]

Feel good story of the day:

The Rev. Jesse Jackson came to Detroit last weekend pushing green jobs for the U.S. economy. On Monday, the Cadillac Escalade carrying him around the city was stolen and stripped. Does building replacement $1000 rims count as “green jobs?”

Jackson came to Detroit as part of UAW President Bob King’s “Jobs, Justice and Peace” march on Sunday, which drew about 5,000 people to a combination protest and Democratic Party spirit parade. A few days before the rally, Jackson wrote a piece for CNN.com laying out its goals:

A key component of stable job growth is our nation’s energy policy. If our country gets serious about energy savings and independence from oil, we could rebuild domestically and power the U.S. economy with American jobs…Ending the subsidies that make dirty fuels artificially cheap can spark a shift in infrastructure development, create more jobs and allow America to become more self-sufficient.

A day after the rally, the 2009 Cadillac Escalade SUV that Jackson used to get around Detroit went missing from a parking lot near his hotel. According to WXYZ-TV, the SUV was later found abandoned, with the window busted and its wheels gone, similar to the jacking of a SUV used by Detroit Mayor Dave Bing’s security.

When the noted scientist Jesse Jackson starts talking about energy policy, it lets the cat out of the bag entirely. When Jackson says “energy policy” he means “redistribution of wealth.”

As with all hypocritical liberal jackasses, when Jackson talks about independence from oil, he means that he would emancipate you from oil, but obviously not himself.

The article wrote for CNN is the usual pablum that liberals spout:

We need an economy that creates employment that can’t be shipped overseas. You certainly can’t retrofit a house in the Midwest from China or India. Home-grown American labor will be installing windmills and solar panels. Of course, none of this will happen unless Congress starts encouraging clean energy that doesn’t, for instance, jeopardize our coastline or our drinking water.

But that’s not how it will ultimately work. The solar panels will be bought from China because the cost will be lower and the illegals who Obama has worked so diligently to protect will supply the labor.

Instead of “limousine liberals”, maybe we should be talking about “Escalade liberals”

It’s really a shame that this fate befell his gas guzzler.

Schadenfreude!

He ought to be pleased: his carbon footprint just took a good step down. Now if he would just take a few more steps down towards retirement.

Jesse Jackson green?? That’s a laugh. Couldn’t happen to a more carbonaceous mountebank.

You gotta google City of Chicago title page. They give you a step by step proceedure to reclaim your stolen vehicle. lol.

Last year, Babs Boxer was coordinating an energy plan with the NAACP. California should be eternally grateful. lol.

My buddy ran a marathon from Buffalo to Niagara Falls, Ontario. I went as an aide(real reason was to see the Falls). You would not park a vehicle anywhere near Buffalo. You could throw in Niagara Falls, NY., also.

Jesse Jackson should be Surgeon General in the Bama Administration.

Actually, green energy tends to redistribute wealth from the poor to the rich. For example, if the government provides a $7,000 rebate for the purchase of a Chevy Volt, what you’ve likely done is taken $7,000 from people of modest means (who can’t afford a $35,000 Volt, much less a $42,000 Volt), and redistributed it to wealthy people who want to look green.

Dr Lynn: hi, Your not serious are you, the poor dont dont have wealth to be taken from, neither to be redistribute to the rich, even if the rich buy big cars. bye

Bees…

What Dr. Lynn is saying is that by giving a $7000 rebate, you’re using tax money that has been collected from poor as well as rich, and you’re giving it to someone who can afford to buy a pretty expensive car, so must be on at the very least, the high side of income. So…the effect is that you have taxed the poor (as well as the rich) in order to give a benefit to the rich (or at least the pretty well off). You’re thinking the government is giving someone $7000 of its own money – but the government doesn’t _have_ any money of its own – it only has what it takes from citizens (that would be _us_!).

Dr LYNN: PLEASE accept my apology, for mistaken your comment,
suek thank you for explaining it so gracefully,

Well…you’re right in one sense…the poor don’t have it to take. They pay in FICA taxes, which is supposed to be for their retirement, but in fact, the Congress has borrowed it all to pay for other stuff. They pay for it in gasoline taxes, which are supposed to be for highway building and maintenance. They probably pay in other ways, but they mostly _don’t_ pay income taxes. Taxes are a game of magic – now you see it, now you don’t.

People complain that “only the rich” get tax breaks…well, yahh. 10% of 10 dollars is one dollars. 10% of 100 is 10 dollars. And 10% of 100,000 is $10,000. So if you give everybody a 10% break on taxes, the guy with $100,000 gets a bigger break. Well duh. And if you go to a grocery store and they have a 25% discount on a $1.00 item, you save a whole .25. But if you go buy a new car with a 25% discount, you save a bundle – if you can afford to! I don’t understand how people can _not_ understand that if you give people the same break on a percentage level, the people with lots of bucks are going to get to save more.
