Obama: America’s Gift To Terrorists [Reader Post]

For al Qaeda and other terrorists across the globe, Obama is the gift that just keeps on giving. The fanatical Muslim terrorists who are intent on wiping out every man woman and child that doesn’t accept Allah as God were just handed another victory by the President of the United States.

In response to yet another threat from the al Qaeda faction in Yemen responsible for training the panty bomber who tried to take out a U.S. bound jet on Christmas day, the Obama administration decided to close down our embassy in Yemen. “The U.S. Embassy in San’a is closed today, January 3, 2010, in response to ongoing threats by al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula … to attack American interests in Yemen,” the embassy said in a message on its Web site.

Obama’s counter-terrorism expert also informed the nation on Sunday that the United States would not be opening up a new front in Yemen to battle the increasing presence of al Qaeda there. This mirrors the Obama administration’s response to ever increasing threats from terrorist murderers: if we just ignore them, maybe they’ll go away.

President Obama has made it official. Faced with murderous threats from fanatical Muslims, America will cut and run. Al Qaeda and assorted terrorists the world over are rejoicing. Yet again.

These barbaric animals are laughing out loud at the policies President Obama and his buddies have enacted since he became president of the greatest country in the world.

First, Obama did what Democrats do when faced with an uncomfortable reality. They redefine it. Obama abolished the war on terror with a stroke of the pen. Presto, we now have man-made catastrophic events, not to be confused with the bogus global warming catastrophic events.
This was followed by the left’s favorite response to any crisis not of their own making: dialogue. Despite the fact that ‘reaching out’ is considered a distinct sign of weakness by our enemies and has never worked, Obama scored political points by convincing half the nation that he could effect world peace through the sheer force of his personality. Obama’s dialogue did accomplish something, however. It allowed him to appear to be doing something, when in actuality he was merely avoiding the hard decisions associated with real leadership.

This man of action then handed terrorists legitimacy, along with all the legal rights American citizens have fought and died for. Enemy combatants, for the first time in history, will be tried in civilian courts in New York. In the same neighborhood they demolished on 9/11. How cool is that, terrorists say.

This insane policy does have a silver lining. It just might encourage terrorists in Yemen and Afghanistan to surrender. That way they can leave the blood and guts battlefield and wage jihad from the worldwide platform being afforded (courtesy of U.S. taxpayers) by a New York courtroom. Again, courtesy of Obama. Who knows, terrorists might just be able to accomplish more effective jihad from within America. Just think of the recruitment opportunities in American jails. Yahoo!

Then again, these animals may just opt to stay on the battlefield overseas. After all, Obama’s new rules of engagement have severely hampered U.S. fighting men. All al Qaeda has to do is hide behind women and children and they get a virtual free pass. And if by chance they get caught killing Americans and they aren’t mirandized, well, its off to Gitmo, where they’ll have a chance to rest up and regroup. Once they gain 20 pounds or so, they’ll be shipped back home where they pick up right where they left off.

Unless, of course, Obama is successful in closing Gitmo, in which case the terrorists will have to make do with 3 squares and cable TV from Chicago until they get shipped home to the same old goat meat and drafty caves.

No wonder our enemies are laughing. As the Taliban indoctrinate kids as young as five years-old into being killing machines, Obama focuses his efforts on sanitizing and avoiding a fight to the finish that our enemies wage as a war and Obama wages as an exercise in rhetoric.

As the left steps up their efforts to sensitize males, our enemies breed warriors and come ever closer to obtaining the technology and materials needed for a nuclear weapon. America will then have no choice but to follow Obama’s policy of appeasement. And the terrorists will have won. And America will be no more.

If you’re not scared yet, let me offer you this visual exercise: Imagine Obama and his buddies coming face to face with a coven of jihadists. Which side is going to win? Obama’s words or the terrorist’s sword?

If the people of this country listened to his campaign speeches and what he really said they would not have voted for him. Instead they listened to what they wanted to hear. Remember when he said ” the United States of America is the greatest nation on earth, help me change it.” If that wasn’t a clue as to what he intended to do nothing ever will. All through his campaign he pandered to the terrorist, all they needed to do is listen, but no, all they heard was “hope and change”. I don’t believe this country wanted this weak-kneed idiot to run this nation, but the “useful idiots” did their job well.

In all due respect, (and I believe completely that Obama is a spineless suite), your report doesn’t seem completely correct (at least about the basic facts). Here is the news report from Fox news on the subject:

Also on Wednesday, the Yemeni foreign minister said the country opposes any direct intervention of U.S. and foreign troops in the terror fight.

“There is a lot of sensitivity about foreign troops coming to Yemeni territory,” Abu Bakr al-Qirbi told The Associated Press.

U.S. military personnel are currently in Yemen training its counterterrorism forces, and al-Qirbi says Yemen would welcome more personnel as trainers. “But not in any other capacity.”

He says “direct intervention complicates things.”

Washington has increased its counterterrorism aid to Yemen to fight Al Qaeda, but has indicated it does not seek to put troops on the ground.

The U.S. and British embassies closed for two days this week because of a threats that Al Qaeda was planning an attack. Other Western embassies also took security precautions, closing to the public or limiting access.

I would agree with the Yemeni foreign minister for now: adding direct U.S. intervention will only serve to make things more complicated. To me, if the Yemenis are taking matters into their own hands (which they seem to be doing), I am all for it. Plus, I didn’t see anything in other reports that said we closed down the embassies completely? It mentioned pretty much everyone from the international community with embassies over there, either closed down or restricted access. I didn’t see anything of the permanent nature. I believe it said two days? Do you have another report that says that Obie one closed it for good?

Some good news …

Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) — Fourteen suspected terrorists died Tuesday night when the bus they rigged with explosives blew up prematurely, police said.

I guess the Obama Administration “outsourced” this effort.

@N. Ando:

BDS is a cruel disease and you are the poster child. I feel like I should send a donation to the BDS foundation but I’m afraid it might be too late to help you since you seem to be stuck in 2006.

You provided three articles but found them so void of substance that you dared not quote from any of them. Could have also been that they were all from 2006 and thus overcome by events in addition to the fact that the first two failed to deliver context and were based on the same interview on Germany’s “The Sabine Christiansen Show” broadcast on ARD (Das Erste), which was the basis for your third article. Bush’s remarks were based on pending US Supreme Court decisions and that is why he told Christiansen, “…we’re waiting for our Supreme Court to give us a decision as to whether the people need to have a fair trial in a civilian court or in a military court. But in either case, they will get a trial which they, themselves, were unwilling to give to the people that they’re willing to kill — “they,” the enemy.”

According the NYT, In 2008, President Bush, “Despite his stated desire to close the American prison at Guantánamo Bay…has decided not to do so, and never considered proposals drafted in the State Department and the Pentagon that outlined options for transferring the detainees elsewhere, according to senior administration officials.”

Later paragraphs in the NYT article put it all into context by pointing to the USC decision and its potential impact.

Mr. Bush’s decision followed a review of the implications of the Supreme Court’s ruling in June that the 250 detainees at Guantánamo have the right to make habeas corpus appeals.

The ruling, Boumediene v. Bush, undercut a core rationale for keeping the prison off American soil, raising expectations that Mr. Bush might at last move to close it, a prospect he first raised in June 2006, when he said, “I’d like to close Guantánamo, but I also recognize that we’re holding some people that are darn dangerous, and that we better have a plan to deal with them in our courts.”

In August 2007, Mr. Bush said “it should be a goal of the nation to shut down Guantánamo,” adding, “But it is not as easy a subject as some may think on the surface.”

Yes, we can all agree that it’s standard practice to make promises during election campaigns but you still need to have a plan before you actually attempt to close the detention facility at Guantanamo. The Obama-Holder plan for bringing KSM to New York for a show trial is insane and not only does it create a security risk and needless expense, it has already violated the basic tenants of our legal system when Holder and Obama declared that KSM will not be allowed to walk free if he successfully defends himself in court. What a travesty! Playing games in court and moving terrorists from Cuba to Illinois changes nothing if you are an al Qaeda propagandist; it only creates a bigger stage and a fresh geographical reference.

while you were complaining about GITMO, Obama was busy taking away the last of the rights we actually had.

@N. Ando: Nice to see the left isn’t falling for this empty skinned president either. Disagree or not, it is becoming laughable how Obie has managed to isolate himself on an island of political correctness and general appeasement. Well, not with conservatives (as we never liked him), but with moderates, independents, and even full blown left side of the aisle’ers.

@Liam, oh the far left really hates the guy. I’m right-winger myself, always have been.
