EDITORIAL: Obama greater than Jesus
…The idea was naturally that the comparison between Jesus and Obama – which is something that the critics developed themselves – would be comical, blasphemous, or both.
If such a comparison were to be made, it would, of course, inevitably be to Obama’s advantage.
~~~Despite all the compromises, it has finally been possible to ensure something so fundamental, as the right of every American not to be financially shipwrecked when their health fails them. Add to that the biggest ever financial support package in America’s history, a major disarmament agreement and the quickest-ever re-establishment of American reputation.
On the other hand, we have Jesus’ miracles that everyone still remembers, but which only benefitted a few. At the same time, we have the wonderful parables about his life and deeds that we know from the New Testament, but which have been interpreted so differently over the past 2000 years that it is impossible to give an unequivocal result of his work.
Obama is, of course, greater than Jesus – if we have to play that absurd Christmas game. But it is probably more meaningful to insist that with today’s domestic triumph, that he has already assured himself a place in the history books – a space he has good chances of expanding considerably in coming years.
Or maybe I should reword that and say Oh my dear Obama….

Hello, I’m a lurker on your site and I had to respond. I saw this article over at Hot Air but not being registered there I am unable to comment.
This article strikes me as the authors’ “John Lennon moment,” a futile and desperate attempt to rally the disillusioned faithful back to the megalomaniacal messianic fervor that reeked from Obamas ’08 campaign (this after the Great Copenhagen Global Warming Conference Disaster in which Mother Nature chose to deviate from the AGW script). If the author of this steaming pile is attempting a religious revival of the Obama cult, I believe it is an effort that is doomed to failure because Ship Obama has left the harbor, struck an iceburg and is foundering at a rate that can only be described as “not quick enough”.
Great blog, always fun to read, keep up the great work.
In later years, Heaven’s Holy Hosts of Angels will sing about Obama, in epics giving Glory to God….
(But: he’ll be the one of the villian’s henchmen in these epics, the vanquished, sung about in dark, minor chords. There’s always a catch, you know.)

I compared Obama to Idi Amin a few months back, an article that could be updated with more clarity now and it is a much more accurate comparison in my opinion. Perhaps we should run these two articles side by side and let the readership decide which one is more accurate.
Jesus could address thousands without a teleprompter, he wasn’t a fraud, he didn’t claim to write books by someone else, and he sure didn’t lock up all his records so that no one could check to see if he was a liar. This has me so upset I can’t think straight it is a good thing that I am alone. I’ll check back later. He didn’t pass himself off as the White Man’s Burden and in need of an Affirmative Action pass through life.
@kjc: He will be a mere footnote and that will read that he was a disaster who produced not one positive thing for America.

This piece of Eurotrash feigns concern over “the right of every American not to be financially shipwrecked when their health fails them.” BS. He’s simply crowing about the US turning into a socialist country like Denmark. I visited his country some years ago. At that time workers were paying 65% of their income to the government in taxes to subsidize their socialist programs. No wonder those who had any money fled to Switzerland or the US before it was grabbed by the government. Instead of being “financially shipwrecked when their health fails them” the Danes are robbed before their paycheck arrives. The productive ones see all their hard work and money end up in someone else’s pockets. How many Americans want to live on 35% of what they are currently earning? I’m going to be bold here and suggest NONE!!!
Well, we do call the Zero “Plastic Jesus,” although I’d rather look at a plastic Jesus…
I didn’t see how to write the author directly so I wrote a long, polite letter to the translator, focusing not on a religious argument but on the HCR. He wrote a gracious reply and said he would pass it on. It’s another sad comment on Europe that secularization would allow such a statement to seem reasonable to anyone, even considering the media filters between Zero and the world.
Gee, when I think of Obama and folks in Bible the only three characters that come to mind are Nimrod, Haman & Judas.

Ship Obama has no time for his cult anymore now that he has a party to run and go to, some surfing to do so he can demonstrate once again to his teenybopper fan base what a hot stud he is. It’s only nonsense to some. That’s called the Revelation. As to the details of His foreign policy: Believers know that all will know when it’s time. For many are called, but few are chosen.
@ Batman, I see you completely missed the irony of what I was saying. The point was that Jesus’ foreign policy probably wouldn’t look very much like America’s……IF YOU WERE TO BELIEVE HIS WORDS.
But you’re right, I”m not a believer…I’m a capitalist and an American. I neither believe in the life of Christ, nor his philosophy. I find it all a threat to America, and to the free-market.
If Obama is Jesus — where is Judas so that 30 pieces of silver can be paid to the “traitor” who makes sure that Obama is tried by a foreign court and convicted and crucified for our “sins”? I bet Hugo Chavez would love to put Obama on trial for something.
Which person with the goods on Obama — all that stuff he will not put on top of the bushel-basket to light our way, that which he will not render unto his Caesars — who are We the People, kings of America — but keeps hidden from daylight, and his yes is not yes, nor his no, no. He bears false witness for sure.
And what are the parables of Obama? Spend like a drunken college kid until there is no one willing to lend for more debt? Turn the other cheek to those who would kill us?
The list of things one could make fun of with such mush-head reasoning as this Danish effort to put Obama above Jesus. Egads, maybe all the CO2 and pollution from the climate taxation folly caused the last bit of thought to fall on stony ground and not grow up to be the fruitful fig tree, but whither and die as the regime of Herod and Rome did too.
