I’d say if there’s one thing the Zero admin can do, it’s staging and setting. This is obviously keeping in consistancy with the campaign opulance.

And speaking of opulance…. it’s a beautiful gown, and MO wears it well. One does wonder if such display of wealth for a nation with 4-5% less GDP growth than the guests, who’s leadership appears to be dressed in more modest clothing, is a good sign to send.

OK… I wondered a few seconds. Nope. Lovely dress, setting and party? But of course. Fitting with the times? Nope. Sending the right message? Especially nope.

However nothing surprising from the silver spoon Oval Office couple, happy to live it up on the taxpayer’s dime.

State dinners should be occasions to showcase the finest the U.S. has to offer. Serving curry to the Indian Prime Minister seems more than a bit patronizing — kind of like serving an American president a hamburger if the dinner was in India. The tent was ridiculous and inappropriate, especially for this time of year. But the biggest insult of all was paid White House Chef Cristeta Comerford. It seems 14 years in the White House (the last four as head chef) and stints as chef at three D.C. and two Chicago restaurants wasn’t an impressive enough resume for the Klingon Queen. MEchelle called in a Scandinavian head chef from a New York restaurant to “help” Comerford and her staff prepare a vegetarian menu. I could (maybe) understand if the menu was smorgasbord — but vegetables and curry? Is MEchelle trying to get Comerford to resign so she won’t look bad for firing the first minority and the first female to hold the WH chef’s post?
