Similar to the classless act at the Kennedy funeral which had a prayer to the Lord for government run health care!

Obama has declared that September 11th from now on shall be known as a National Day of Service and Remembrance. Not a bad idea if you are honoring the firemen, police officers and the passengers on Flight 93 who gave their lives trying to save Americans.

But…. like the Kennedy funeral which couldn’t help but use a religious moment to support a partisan political agenda, Obama’s idea of service and remembrance is a bit different from that of ordinary Americans.

This editorial in the New York Daily News puts it well:

The Obama administration supports creating clean energy jobs in cities through a campaign called Green the Block, started by the groups Green For All and the Hip Hop Caucus. After cabinet officials met with leaders of the organizations in the West Wing, aides posted a video and a statement on the White House blog.

Van Jones, an Obama environmental adviser, said 9/11 would be an opportunity to “connect, to find other people in your peer group who are also passionate about repowering America but also greening up America and cleaning up America.”

And the Rev. Lennox Yearwood, head of the Hip Hop Caucus said:

“The first milestone for Green the Block will be on our National Day of Service, Sept. 11, 2009, where we will organize Green the Block service events around the country in coordination with the President’s initiative, United We Serve.”

No. Wrong. Entirely wrong.

9/11 is not about green jobs or health care or bank bailouts or about the ideologies and egos of celebrities who are planning concerts and other performances this year. To them, hands off.

And “remembrance” must not, must never, be forgotten.

It would be sacrilege to smother 3,000 murders under gauzy and fleeting good feelings.

It would be a gross betrayal to gloss the evil that targeted – and still targets – America.

This is just another in a sad and lengthening list of how Obama and his lib cronies are corrupting American values for partisan political purposes.

Van Jones and the rest of the Admin morons will never understand! They can name it anything they want to, but the American People will always consider 9/11 a day of Remembrance!

Obie and the Hip Hops had their chance to “Green the Block” this year on Earth Day, April 22, and they’ll have another chance next year. September 11 has been observed for 7 years before their attempt to defile it — and it will be celebrated long after they are gone — as a Day of Remembrance for all those who lost their lives in the Twin Towers, at the Pentagon and in a field in Pennsylvania, as well as all those police officers, firefighters, military personnel, emergency hospital personnel and private citizens who tried to save them. It is a Day of Infamy that will live forever in the hearts of most Americans. What gall that those who never served anyone but themselves and their own political interests want to declare 9/11 “United We Serve” Obama and the environment rather than “United We Stand” in solidarity with American heroes against terrorism.

What a freaking fool Obama is! How embarrassing that the world is watching. And how demeaning to the families of those who gave their lives in 9/11. Obama has to be the worst “president” there has ever been. It’s all based on his inexperience and his socialistic slant. Pray that something will happen to flush Obama out of government all together.

So the names will not be read in New York? There will be no ceremony at the Pentagon? Or recognition of the “Let’s Rumble” crowd? Obama and his revolutionaries have another think coming. If they think that Americans have forgotten, they only need to review the tapes from the phone calls made when Air Force One did a fly over New York some months ago. That might jog his memory. The man and his czars are SICKO’S. My flag will be out!

President O’Dumbo has employed every traitor and criminal he knows, and you pay the bills. I guess that’s normal since he doesn’t know anyone but traitors and criminals. After the snow job on the CIA any terrorists attack on the U.S. or U.S. property should result in the arrest, trial, conviction and hanging of every member of the O’Dumbo regime. Like the NAZI hunters people will be searching them out for years with a rope in their hand. You can become an O’Dumbo hunter, no experience required…

I did not know anyone who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept 11, 2001. I watched on TV the second plane hitting the WTC. I was so shocked, appalled, heartsick, and outraged that anyone could do this to my countrymen. I felt so much pain for those who tried to protect others and died in the process. I hurt for the loved ones the victims left behind.
Why is it that now we have an administration who wants to pretend it did not happen, and refuses to protect the rest of us from any follow-up attacks? If this is what the MSM, Congress, the Senate and the czars of this administration are all about, I say it is time to turn off the MSM, and when election time comes around, show all those idiots on the hill that they work for US, not the other way around. Why do I feel we have a president who is trying to demean those who lost their lives during the attack by not recognizing it as a day of rememberance of those who died, not a political platform for him. I am disgusted by him!

Madalyn, I too did not know any of the people lost on 9/11. However I worked in another state for one of the companies that were in the towers. My boss had friends that worked in the towers and a co-worker sitting next to me had a son that was supposed to be in the area at the time. I spent most of my time trying to keep my co-worker calm while looking at CNN on my PC.
A few days later I ended up getting a hold of one of the fire stations that had lost people in the collapse. I remember how the voice of the woman cracked and broke when she told me she didn’t know where a certain person and others were “because…” I almost lost it myself and cried.

It’s not as personal for me as it is for others who did lose people, but I’ll be damned if I let those scumbags turn this into a political tool for themselves.
I will not forget and I will fight their efforts to make others forget.

Hard Right – It will be the outrage of people like us who will eventually awaken the slumbering robots who are being led around by the nose by the Obama administration. Thank God we have sites like this where the research is outstanding and we can get information regarding everything this stupid freak from Chicago is trying to force feed us.
I still get a lump in my throat when I think about all the lives that were lost due to a situation that could have been avoided if only Clinton had taken up the CIA when they offered Bin Laden to him on a silver platter.
I hold my country dear in my heart, and am dismayed at the path it is currently on. May God bless us all.

I think the obama bots are too far gone. Just the other day an obama bot excused the health care reform fiasco by saying Congress and not obama was to blame. Had we not been in a work environment I would have pointed out to her this whole thing is his baby and as the leader of his party the blame lies primarilly with him for failing to get the necessary votes or provide leadership.

The ones we need to awaken are those people with their heads buried in the sand oblivious to everything but their own little world. The people that would be upset…if they only knew what was going on.

@KJC:

The idiots behind this ridiculous move don’t understand that they will begin to inherit some of that same outrage.

If you want to associate yourself with pain and suffering of others because you feel that it advances your cause, you’ve become seriously detached from reality. It’s kind of why Israel doesn’t commemorate Kristalnacht with a sale on glass wear or suggestions for cleaning your windows with an environmentally friendly glass cleaner.

As always, I will say a prayer for the 2,996 lost on the 11th of September. It occured on my 47th birthday. They haven’t been the same since and it is one I will never forget.
Should the “Green the Block” kids show up at my house……well it could be a “Bad day at Black Rock” for them. That will occur when they meet up with Wichita’s and Sedgwick County’s finest.
And I may just make them render honors to the Colors that I fly all the time, just before I have them hauled off to the county jail for trespassing. A little time in a crowded cell can be a wonderful attitude adjustment tool.
Should the above mentioned scum get ugly, I can give as good as I get. Stripped to the waist and go.

And there are still those a**holes who say it was an inside job. If by inside they mean helped by people who are now in the Mr. Looking for my Balls administration, then maybe it was. They seem to be hell bent on destrying our country from the inside, maybe that was their start. Does anybody with a brain bigger than a pissant believe it was an inside job? Not me. Not anybody that uses common sense to live by.

Just a little short story about post-9/11. Several weeks after the attacks, we went ahead with our vacation plans in Vegas. While we were there, at the casino gift shop, was a rack of t-shirts with a picture of the towers collapsing, and the inscription below:
September 11, 2001 – I will never forget

I decided that on Sept 11 of every year, I would wear that t-shirt. The next year on Sept 11, I wore it to work and my boss told me it was not appropriate apparel for work. I commented that I would NOT change my clothes, because as soon as we forgot Sept 11, we were in for another terrorist attack. I guess I made my point, because ever since then whether it be work, gardening, play, athletic game, or whatever, I wear that shirt. The point I am trying to make is that if we EVER forget the tragedy of that day, we are in for another attack of some kind.
Don’t mean to bore anyone, but I for one will never forget. To forget is to act like the lives lost were not important and the pain and suffering of their loved ones are of no consequence. To me they were. To others, maybe not. That is their burden to take before the Lord.

This is Kevin Cosgrove. He was the Vice President of Aon Corporation and was 46 years old. He was on the 105th floor of the South Tower, when he saw the attacks of the North Tower. He made a phone call to his wife, telling her that he was okay and that he was on his way down. Right after he got off the phone, the South Tower was attacked. This tape goes from when the 911 phone call was first made to the collapse of the South Tower. Kevin Cosgrove’s body was found a week after the attacks, and was buried in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Huntington, NY.

@j.biros: The “DJ Sammy – Heaven Remix” video is one of the most heart-wrenching I have ever seen. This is what 9/11 continues to be like for all those who lost loved ones that day.

@jill: The “9-11 phone call” video is horrific. This is what the victims of those terrorist attacks faced that day.

May all of those innocent victims rest in peace, and may the Holy Spirit lend comfort to all those left behind until they are reunited again someday in Heaven.

I found the Van Jones clip to be very troubling on multiple levels.

If you put aside the “expletive deleted” nature and who the “expletive deleted” was target toward, the most troubling part becomes clearer.

First, the woman asked the question as to why the “party now out of power” in Congress was able when “in power” to pass legislation with less than the majority the current “party in power” enjoys, while the “party in power” can’t seem to do the same thing. The response .. BS .. or as Barack Obama would call it .. a distraction. Obviously, this question was not supposed to be asked.

Second, the cynicism this man has for the environmental movement is unbelievable. “Green Jobs” aren’t a viable economic product of reordered priorities based on good environmental principles, but rather a political opportunity. His appointment as “Green Jobs” czar shows that “Green Jobs” and probably the whole “cap-and-trade” legislation has virtually nothing to do with the environment, but rather is a source of funds to be squandered for patronage. Every environmentalist should be aghast.

The only “green” in a job this Old Seadog is concerned with is the money I make. Green is a myth. I hunted for a very long time when the kids were still at home. It put meat on the table. I was far more “green” than this idiot has ever been. Those licensing, deer tag and bird stamp fees ensured proper management of the wild game population. I have been a “green” conservationist since I was 7 and went into the field with my Dad. He taught me more about conservation than that “gentleman” ever knew existed.
And he should take his sorry ass out to the dryland farm country in the Dakotas and Montana. He would see how well those farmers and ranchers so things. It might give him pause to think but probably not. It wouldn’t fit in with his radical viewpoints since these people really work.
I use cleanable filters in my heating and air conditioning, not because of the environmental factor, but because of cost effectiveness. I rotate and clean on the first of every month. If I were using disposable filters after being in this house for ten years, it adds up.
And for shear giggles, I would love to lock him upa ta the position of attention and and give him a verbal going over that would probably have him crapping in his drawers.
