Plus: Black Cop who supports Crowley called “Uncle Tom and “Traitor!”

Photobucket

Barry, Joe and the boys do some brew in the White House Rose Garden!

In a statement shortly after the Beer Summit Obama said: “I have always believed that what brings us together is stronger than what pulls us apart.” Yeah. That’s why he accused the Police of acting “stupidly” even know he didn’t have the facts. I hope he learned something.

As for Crowley, he later expressed his respect for the President and revealed that his conversation with Gates boiled down to “two gentlemen who agreed to disagree on a particular issue.” No doubt Gates took the opportunity to stick it to “whitey” (his favorite phrase to demonstrate his neutrality on the issue of race)

Crowley’s statement follows in this eight minute video. Note that no one apologized to him for anything:

A Bud Light for the president and a Blue Moon for Crowley. Gates drank a Samuel Adams Light, not a Red Stripe. Biden drank a non-alcoholic beer, Buckler. All served up by a white guy so Gate’s doesn’t go ballistic.

Massive unemployment, wars overseas and huge political issues at home and Obama drops it all for a photo op to show what a regular guy he is! Give me a break!

Black cop at Gates home regrets ‘Uncle Tom’ label
(AP)
July 30, 2009

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A black sergeant who was at the home of Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. when he was arrested says he’s been maligned as an “Uncle Tom” for supporting the actions of the white arresting officer.

Cambridge Sgt. Leon Lashley gave a letter to Sgt. James Crowley to give to President Barack Obama during their so-called beer summit with Gates on Thursday night at the White House.

In the letter, which was also sent to CNN, Lashley says Gates “may have caused grave and potentially irreparable harm to the struggle for racial harmony.”

Lashley says he has become known as a traitor to his heritage by some because he “spoke the truth” about the arrest.

3 Chardonnay drinkers and a cop. Actually, I’m just surprised that Biden didn’t send his Buckler back because it didn’t have an umbrella in it.

Officer Crowley should not have lowered himself to be in this photo-op. Obama and Joe are drinkin’ while Rome’s burnin’.

The immense respect I had for Sgt. Crowley is completely gone because of this disgusting dog-and-pony show.

He should’ve been smart enough to know that he was giving cover to two race-baiters.

Absolutely disgusting.

Stupid is as stupid does. Couldn’t say it any better the author of this article.

So we have elevated a non-racial profiling incident to one of Bartender – In- Chief to be a “teachable moment.”

My rear end. This makes no sense and this is stupid.

Bronze, do not get your head up your rear over this. It was staged by the Socialists.
Sgt Crowley had a beer, surrendered no ground and Biden is still a jackass, Obama and Gates are still Racist tools and Al Sharpton and Jessee Jackson were not invited.

Cool down You all. This too will pass but not un-noticed. Obama can have a beer and sit back like an arrogant fool. Biden can show up for free beer and posture.

Gates is still a racist middle aged opportunistic punk, SGT Crowley is still an honorable man and the MSM did not get a photo op and Obama’s numbers are still tanking.

Patience… Axlerod and the other Propagandists will gain nothing but the scorn of a Nation from this event. We who the Racists are. We know who the fools and opportunists are.

If I were Sgt. Crowley, I would have asked for an apology from both Obama and Gates before I took a sip of that beer. Then, when I didn’t get it, I would have walked out. That’s the photo-op I would give to the racist bastards.

Sorry Trooper, Sgt. Crowley is a self-admitted O’Bama voter and I think he put his own politics above his principles.

Any self-respecting copper would REFUSE to have a beer with two guys that called them a liar and a racist. Crowley is doing nothing but fawning over the guy he voted for. Anyone with true principles would’ve/should’ve seen this charade for what it was and refuse to participate.

I know I (and most that I know) would have.

I would put forward the opinion that anyone who uses the term “Uncle Tom” is clearly uneducated of the actual character Uncle Tom. Ask them if they have ever read the book. Uncle Tom did not sell-out his race but stoically refused to bend to the will of Simon Legree and his henchmen. (The sell-outs were the characters Quimbo and Sambo.)

A “beer summit” held because of a statement made by Obama on national tv (as a throw in ‘teaching moment’ at the ObamaCare “presser”) on an issue (the arrest of his friend ‘Skip’) he admittedly did not know the facts. Yet our ‘comedians’ say there’s nothing funny about this guy. Yeah, right.

“Barack Obama means never having to say you’re sorry.”

Well, Obama did go to Hahvuhd.

Oh, and for those criticizing Crowley, I can only imagine the severe pressure he is under since Obama opened his big yap. The guy is basically taking on the President over Gates’ arrest. And Gates is a friend of Barack’s, as if the cop knew that. It’s already been a good thing that his record is squeaky clean, and I mean squeaky ‘lick off the floor’ clean. His being a highly-praised instructor on racial profiling within the police department has already saved his ass. I think Crowley set the right tone afterward, saying they agreed to disagree. He didn’t cave to Gates. He gave the president a photo-op, yes, but at what price to the president, and at what price to Crowley? This thing has been going on for a week now, just at a time when the president is demanding an immediate pass for his ObamaCare. He had to take time off from the campaign trail to stay at home at the White House and entertain/mediate because of his own stupidity and hoof-in-mouth disease.

Crowley did what he did, and I for one will not fault him for the visit. He was between a barack and a gates place.

Where did that info come from? It was my understanding that it was first mentioned by Robert Gibbs during a press conference and then it went from there.

I would show no ill will to the officer. He is showing that he is a bigger man than the other three children at the table. Now if he had apologized or retracted any of his story then that would show that he was pressured into doing this.

Come on guys, wouldn’t you have loved to of looked the POTUS in the eye and know that you had this over his head while he played his little make up game to appease his liberal friends and make nice for the press? Not to mention that after this is over if anyone brings up the issue he can show that it was the President who caved in to him and not the other way around.

I also have to note that Sgt Crowley keeps reminding me of David O’Hara who was in “Braveheart and most recently “Wanted”.

For a beer summit, and looking at the photos from it, the only person who appears to have had even a mouthful of beer was Sgt. Crowley. Neither the VP’s or the Pres’ or Mr. Gates’ beer mugs appear to have been touched.

I’m also waiting for tax lien information and other personal financial information on Sgt. Crowley and his fellow african american Sgt. Lashley to be leaked for daring to speak truth to power. Did you also notice at Sgt. Crowley’s press conference he got asked and answered more questions from the media in fifteen minutes than Mr. Obama is asked and answers in an hour, and Sgt. Crowley was intelligent and direct and ACTUALLY ANSWERED THE QUESTIONS! Looks like the wrong person got admitted to Haaaahvaaad. I wonder if Sgt. Crowley might have a political career ahead of him (but why would he go slumming with the likes of Barney Frank or Harry Reid)?

I’m a big Sam Adams fan, but I also love Blue Moon – which I get more often because my roommate is allergic to wheat and I therefore know it’s going to be there when I get home! Though the orange could still be gone….

@Cary:

Good beer conservation strategy but you need to check where you’re getting your Blue Moon from since it is supposed to be produced in the United States.

Wikipedia has a interesting run down on the “controversy”, noting that the Confederation des Brasseries de Belgique (CBB) sued Coors for calling Blue Moon “Belgian White”. “The CBB alleged Coors’ advertising was misleading, and could confuse American consumers into believing Blue Moon was made in Belgium. Coors at first responded by adding “Made in USA” and “Belgian-style” in small print to the bottle labels, but refused to change its advertising or packaging.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Moon_(beer)#cite_note-5

As far as I’m concerned the only controversy worth attention is when the beer supply starts running low.
