This reminds me of the Benny Hill skit were the average Joe got shabby medical treatment from a cigarette smoking quack while the the upper class got the champagne service. It was funny to watch then, but this is not. The July 4th Tea Party is more critical now than ever. Email and/or call your Congressman or Senator (202) 224-3121. Maybe if we jam the switchboard at Congress we might be able to shake them up. Take action NOW!!!!

Folks, we are watching congress becomming the ruling class while making us the peasants.
This is sickening.

I up in my age, probably older than most on this blog. Nothing to do with wisdom or enlightenment. But I can remember way back in the 8th grade of Parochial school when we studied about Europe and the kingdoms with monarchs and serfs. I was astounded then when I learned that the serfs and peasants had to pay a tax of 30% to the overlords. I thought why did they succumb to that. Well here we are same thing except the overlords are now called politicians.

The problem is that Obama is enjoying himself, and it is doubtful that he has a single serious care about the country he leads. The more time passes, the more he appears to be a narcissist. Narcissists are very effective liars. His background is a good basis for what he has become.

Bush made some serious gaffs, but he appeared to care about his country.

We are witnessing a President just being happy being President, enjoying adulation, incapable of serious confrontation, uninquisitive, pretends to listen so others so they will like him although he could care less what they really have to say.

Geithner and his buddies walked all over him because he simply DID NOT KNOW, WHAT HE DID NOT KNOW. And he won’t ask for fear of appearing stupid. At least if you understand that there’s a gap in your knowledge you will educate yourself. Obama is busy enjoying Air Force One, and all other pleasures afforded to every resident of the White House by American taxpayers.

The biggest problem is that he does not understand the nature of the hole he is creating for his nation, and doesn’t seem to really care. It’s his time in charge, and he will enjoy it, do what he wishes, and damn the consequences.

It is also inevitable that the tide will turn on him within 6 months, and he will react as we have never seen him react. We are in for some surprises, IMHO.

That is a bald @ssed lie. There is no way Congress will use their Personal income to pay for Your health care. I have TRICARE for Life. Retired Military pay premiums for that, not like Congress. It is better than what private insurers offer with few co-pays.

I collect a pension that is half of my Active Duty pay, Congress gets more than that for less risks taken and less service to the Nation. Social Security is broke and Medicare just may go away if the fraudulent Obama care Program is signed into law. I ranch, the Family business, so I am not on a fixed income like many Americans are. Obama care will harm the youngest and oldest of the population by furnishing sub standard rationed care. The fixed income folks will suffer the most due to triage but youngsters will not get the screening care that pediatricians provide today. Those that know nothing about Medicine will manage care like the USDA inspects meat and that is poorly at best.

If the Cap & Tax bill becomes law, utilities and all forms of Domestic energy production will double the consumer cost overnight. Obama care is in no possible way affordable nor will it offer quality care. The lies just flow forth like a river from the Hill & the White house.

Buffalobob, a 30% tax rate is a bargain compared to what is coming if America doesn’t wake the hell up ASAP. As the Corporate tax rate goes up, America loses high paying and high skilled jobs. Doctors won’t stay in the practice of medicine for government regulated salaries. A good plumber or electrician will make more than Doctors.

Congress and our half Kenyan Pretender in Chief need a reality check in 2010 and 2012 or quality of life in the US will resemble that of Somalia in another 6 or 8 years. When Government manages anything, expect the costs to be out of control and the quality to go away.

Anyone who thinks that the President, Michael Jackson, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, celebrities, uber-wealthy, mega-powerful people are going to be getting the same high-quality medical treatment that an unemployed pizza delivery kid East Cleveland gets….those people are mistaken. Shoot the President, and he gets the best care possible. Shoot the pizza delivery kid, and he’s not going to get the same treatment. If Bill Gates has a heart attack, he’s not gonna be sharing the same room with a potato farmer. If Michelle Obama needs some sort of surgery, she’s not gonna be put on a list below a trailer park or ghetto resident. Govt healthcare ain’t gonna be equal healthcare. Obama knows that. Intelligent people know that, but yet…he still sells it, and Obamatons still buy it.

Or do they?

@Scott Malensek:

I think that Michael Jackson can be removed from that list now.

Damned American health care system killed the King of Pop.

Well, that, plastic surgery, and prescription drugs. Mostly prescription drugs.

Damned evil drug companies killed the King of Pop.

You are winning a debate that you are on the verge of losing.

In order to win a long debate like the one surrounding health care, we have to stick to our main point (the high cost), & continuously add fresh strong points in disagreement. The goal is to keep those who are concerned about the plan concerned, or The Dems will ward off all those fears & accomplish their goal.

President Obama says that If we don’t change reimbursement structure; prevention, etc., Medicaid/Medicare will be broke.

The question is why should the government create a new program that will take on more people & cost more when the program they already have in place is going broke? Why won’t they just fix Medicare & Medicaid then expand the program as the funds come available?

Might I add, you should be forcing them to be specific about what they are doing to force the price of health care down; just creating a new government program won’t accomplish that goal.
Right now the debate is centered on the high cost, so we should be talking about what is causing the cost of health care to continuously rise at the rate it is rising; arguing for tort reform is not enough.

It also doesn’t make sense that another creation of a Medicare / Medicaid program, that is suppose to be new & improved, will create competition, which is suppose to drive down the price of all health care,” It’s like buying snake oil,” because none of the politicians can really project the future of any of the bills… Heck, who would have thought the price of health care would be sky rocketing as it is doing today.

This is how the story goes.

Here is an example of what I am talking about ( I am not promoting this solution):

Health reform must address issue of cost

June 26, 2009

Health care reform should address three goals: increased accessibility to health insurance, improved affordability and improvement in the quality of health care.

It seems the serious proposals now before Congress only concentrate on one of these goals: accessibility. I am sure there are elements of the other goals – improving technology and record keeping and sharing will improve affordability and quality, but only marginally.

Increased accessibility is a desirable main goal, but this kind of concentration on accessibility will increase demand for services without a corresponding improvement in supply and will mainly serve to drive up cost.

Greater accessibility would increase demand and thereby drive costs so high that there then would be such a strong demand for national health insurance as to make it politically impossible to oppose.

I urge Congress to do something significant regarding cost. The system cannot sustain what has been happening. Employers cannot sustain a continual 10 percent a year increase in premiums. More and more individuals will opt to go without insurance coverage.

One approach that will reduce the cost for many individuals is to lower the age of eligibility for Medicare. Now, one must be 65 years old to get Medicare coverage. If that age were lowered to 55, there would be millions of relatively healthier people added to Medicare rolls paying premiums and requiring fewer services.

This one step would solve Medicare solvency. Additionally, just think what would happen if auto industry employers could offer their 55-and-older employees and retirees the lower cost Medicare coverage.

The only constituency hurt by adding the above proposal to the mix is private insurance companies. They might lose some of their current customers to Medicare under the above plan.

However with increased accessibility for individuals not covered now, the insurance industry will more than make up for that loss. Given the scope of the problems the system is under now, that seems like it would be a prudent risk.Mel Mintz, Pikesville

@Scott Malensek: That’s a good point. It might be illustrated by the fact that EMT’s his doctor worked on Michael Jackson for 45 minutes at the scene and Doctor’s worked on him at the hospital for another hour. News reports suggest he was unresponsive the entire time.

Actually having been a state certified EMT I can tell you that anyone else would have gotten a few minutes CPR then called it quits.

Yes, I remember well the Political Organizer in Chief’s statement “Everyone will have the same health coverage as congress”. Soon the mouth breathers that voted for O will figure out that they’ve been kissed-off by the Big Eared One. Give it some time and his followers will turn on him like a pack of wild dogs (which they are).

“President Obama struggled to explain today whether his health care reform proposals would force normal Americans to make sacrifices that wealthier, more powerful people — like the president himself — wouldn’t face.

The probing questions came from two skeptical neurologists during ABC News’ special on health care reform, “Questions for the President: Prescription for America,” anchored from the White House by Diane Sawyer and Charles Gibson.

Dr. Orrin Devinsky, a neurologist and researcher at the New York University Langone Medical Center, said that elites often propose health care solutions that limit options for the general public, secure in the knowledge that if they or their loves ones get sick, they will be able to afford the best care available, even if it’s not provided by insurance.

Devinsky asked the president pointedly if he would be willing to promise that he wouldn’t seek such extraordinary help for his wife or daughters if they became sick and the public plan he’s proposing limited the tests or treatment they can get.

The president refused to make such a pledge, though he allowed that if “it’s my family member, if it’s my wife, if it’s my children, if it’s my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care.?

As Congress and the President are exempt, the hypocrisy and shameless lies continue, Marcell.
When facts pop up, Your Job with the Obama Ministry of Propaganda and Public Enlightenment
must seem less secure. I will have TRICARE for Life until I am 6 feet under because earned it.

Not for long! The new “Joe the Doctor”? Will he get “Rhammed”??
