58 year old disabled Vietnam vet, Frank Larison, is under fire from the Dallas Home Owner’s Association. The president of the HOA sent him a letter asking him to remove 7 Marine Corps decals from his vehicle, stating that advertisement is not allowed. The reporter, James Rose, points out that if this is the case, just about every car in the neighborhood is in violation as the news camera captures examples of other cars making a multitude of statements, including an Obama ‘08 bumpersticker. Yet it’s the patriotic Marine decals that have drawn fire from the HOA.

Yup…supporting the Armed Forces and expressing patriotism is a “no-no” advertisement that violates HOA rules…but sporting a political Obama ‘08 bumpersticker gets the free pass.

Leave this good man alone. This country is becoming so dictatorial it amazes me.

Moonbat alert. Sounds like the HOA pres is a wackodemic trying their tyrant antics off campus. Few other than a lefty wackodemic could be so arrogant, dictatorial, and stupid!

In the interview I heard, they also spoke to one of the HOA board members who stated that he knew nothing about the letter – hadn’t seen it before – definitely hadn’t signed it. Apparently, it had been signed by the board president only.

It’s times like these that people tend to get out the rule book and actually read it. Carefully. I suspect the HOA Pres is about to get more trouble than he bargained for.

I hope.

I live in the Dallas area. I can not speak for the rest of the Tea Party around Dallas, but I can speak TO them. Unless there is some sort of pissant rule that covers this President’s butt, he is going to have a lot of pissed of, vocal, conservatives all over his ass.

Its BS, its the systematic hunting down of all patriotic ppl. Apparently now if your proud to be american theres something wrong with you.

We really have lost our can do attitude and replaced it with cynicism.

How stupid can you get? The HOA needs a large dose of reality. The media were quick to point out the wide range of bumper stickers and decals to be found in the subdivision.

I thought MY HOA rules were bad…sheesh.

First the left started by making political correctness, as defined by them, the order of the day. Next they forced their views on the rest of us by saying that if one of them were offended by what we said WE should correct our behavior. Now, they have begun criminalizing speech that they disagree with.

Free speech and property rights are the foundation of our freedom. They are being undermined in front of our eyes.

If someone will provide an email or mailing address for HOA, my sharp commant will be sent out fast. This is the kind of thing that must be met, immediately, with great displeasure. Not with bad words, but with solid disapproval. We all need to stomp on such stuff just as we would the bad behaviors of our children.

It seems it was the prez of the hoa who did the threatening letter number. One Darendra Hardy. Darendra some blog posters have found is a demoncrap contributor witha phone now disconnected, an email address shut down and lives in the development. Darendra has pulled a Susan Roesgen and “left town”.
Darendra is another of those tolerant freedom loving lib fascists who want totalitarianism and death imposed on those that do not think or believe correctly as they speak untruths of power.
Certainly Darendra Hardy’s actions against the Marine vet’s bumperstickers and tolerance for those of left-wing causes set Hardy and the hoa up for a suit if not a criminal attempt to deprive the former marine of his civil liberties! Darendra needs to start layering up!

I once thought HOAs were a good idea. But every time I look around there are these silly articles and how stupid they are treating things. I understand that there are some good ideas there but isn’t that how it all starts out? With good intentions?

Then you get some freak like this Darendra person in charge who power trips like she obviously is, then its all down the tubes.

And of course, she does what every good liberal does when called on the carpet. She RUNS away from it and I will be surprised if she even takes responsibility for it. I am sure she will say it was some clerical error and wasn’t supposed to be mailed until she checked into it or some hog wash.

And this is why I would never live in a community with a HOA. I would say Frank needs to get a lawsuit going for discrimination and serve it to Darendra. Where is the ACLU in this?

@offended conservative!:

“It seems it was the prez of the hoa who did the threatening letter number.”

My personal experience, and that of several friends and acquaintances is essentially the same. Some power hungry control freak twists otherwise reasonable rules, …kind of like Lefties when they get into positioins of power. The problem is that if someone craves being leader, he generally has no business being one.

I refuse to live in an HOA. To many are run like tiny petty fascists regimes. What is needed is a constitutional lawyer to educate this little Hitler HOA president with a counter threat of a 1st amendment civil rights lawsuit if the the HOA goes through with their threat.
