Obama Gives Iran 1Yr for “Talks” to Work; Iran Responds By Firing Missile And Threatening Israel

Loading

Really, are there words that adequately describe the ignorance Obama’s displaying, or the naivete that his supporters have displayed in believing that talks ever had a chance with Iran?

…and no, I have not finished drafting the image for my “Don’t Let Bush Bomb Iran!” t-shirts. When I do, I expect them to be big sellers at the anti-war rallies preceeding Obama’s response to Israeli strikes on Iran. Updates to follow 🙂

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama set a rough timetable for his diplomatic outreach to arch-foe Iran for the first time on Monday, saying he wanted to see serious progress by the end of the year.

He also held out the prospect of tougher sanctions against Tehran “to ensure that Iran understands we are serious.”

Obama’s comments came after talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which the new Israeli leader was expected to stress Israel’s concerns about Iran’s nuclear program.

For those few still in denial, this timetable/timeline/deadline is called a:
PRECONDITION

Iran’s response?

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iran launched a missile with a range of close to 2,000 km (1,200 miles) on Wednesday and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the Islamic state could send any attacker “to hell,” official media reported.

The stated range of the surface-to-surface Sejil 2 missile would be almost as far as another Iranian missile, Shahab 3, and analysts say such weaponry could put Israel and U.S. bases in the Gulf within reach.

Ya know…when even the Democrats’ Congress starts sending Obama formal, public letters saying, ‘Hey! Iran’s a real threat. Take em seriously & get us away from the brink of a world war!’ Well, that’s effectively The Clue Phone ringing.

WASHINGTON (AFP) — A vast majority of US senators on Tuesday urged President Barack Obama to mind the “risks” to Israel in any Middle East peace accord as he presses for a two-state solution to the six-decade conflict.

“As we work closely with our democratic ally, Israel, we must take into account the risks it will face in any peace agreement,” 76 of the 100 senators wrote Obama in a letter released to reporters.

Simple question:
Does ANYONE think that talks are gonna work with Iran? ANYONE?

Obama can’t run a soup kitchen. Our Congress can’t balance a checkbook.

Netanyahu runs a Nation and will deal with Iran in the only way that Iran understands.

Over at Wikipedia, the Iranians are busy adding a picture of Obama next to the definition of “FOOL”

But if I were the Iranians, I would take a look at how Obama treated US citizens like Wall Street et al (“madman theory of the presidency” ). When you piss him off, he does become the reincarnation of “Shaft” .. that mean m…r f..ker .. just talking about “The Man” .. we can dig it.

Just because he doesn’t lose his temper in public, doesn’t mean you can’t get him mad.

I kinda get this feeling that waiting out the clock isn’t necessarily the best strategy for the Iranians. Pushing away his reached out hand will only get them the backside in return.

But…but….he’s TRYING!! uh, um….Yellowcake and stuff!!! Everybody likes us now!!! Bush is a dummyhead!! Chimpy mchitlerburton!! uh, um…..look, a baby wolf!!

The mainstream media wouldn’t do it. So we are trying to get your important messages to the American people. 27 This post is a suggested read at, http://aresay.blogspot.com/

Danny Boy…Iran will use it.

Anyone check jess and dan’s IP addy?
Either we have two extremely naive people or a 1-2 troll(s).

Hard, I’m thinking your right. They used different IP’s but both came back to Mediacom Communications Corp and Jess’s comment had a Newsy.com web address filled out which led to articles about Iran and their missiles. While Daniel’s IP was used by another commenter a few months back with a Newsy.com web address filled out. Think you called it.

While the spam filter munches on my last post…
Dan, jess, Jan? I suggest you both do some serious research about Iran before you think it’s no big deal they have WMDs or missiles capable of hitting Israel and Europe.

Dan and jess, either you two are exremely uniformed and naive, or you are flaming trolls. Maybe even just one troll.

Anyway, I suggest you both do a lot more research on iran before askig why is it a big deal for them to have WMDs or missiles that can hit Israel or Europe.

There is absolutely NO REASON to even try to convince people that Iran is a threat to US National Security. Obama will do that. It’s his job. He already said that a nuclear-armed Iran is unacceptable, that military options are not off the table, and that they’ve got 1yr to show that they’re willing to talk (which they then replied by testing a longer range ballistic missile). Meanwhile, up on The Hill, Dems are holding hearings, and it’s DEMS claiming that Iran’s nuclear program is a weapons program.

Let the Dems convince their voters. I just wanna watch, eat popcorn, and say, “See, we told ya so years ago, but you bitched about GWB, you didn’t do anything to deter Iran, you opposed strikes when they would have been effective rather than waiting for them to be operational, to have stronger defenses, and to be dispersed.” Then I’m gonna put on my “DON’T LET BUSH BOMB IRAN” t-shirt, and watch Obama and Congressional Democrats deal w ANSWER, CODEPINK, and watch Howard Dean talk about the need for pre-emption.

Heck of a way to get hits or attempt to argue. It just didn’t feel right.
Sorry for the multiple posts, after the first two disappeared I thought it was Bill Gates and his damn Windows Vista acting up….again.

The UN is a worthless paper tiger, and it is typical, stupid UN type diplomacy which has lead to this situation, whereby militaristic rogue states can safely “moon” the whimpy diplomatic bozos and continue doing what they damn well please. This is the culmination of years of hand-slapping.

Ironically, there was a great West Wing episode on yesterday morning covering the Iranian nuclear threat. If I recall, there are at least 2 in the series. In both cases, they resolve the crisis by kicking the ball down the road & knowing it’ll be harder next time.

Man, I’ve GOTTA get those “Don’t Let Bush Bomb Iran” t-shirts made!

Hey Scott- re: the “Bush is a dummyhead” post… check the screen name associated with that comment.

Work with me here, man.
