Air Farce One Photo Released!

Posted by: Mike's America @ 10:09 pm in Uncategorized  | 0 views

Obama’s $357,000 souvenir photo of the day New York panicked!

It may have all started because the New York Daily News was about to run a column suggesting Obama had visited cities and states large and small in his first one hundred days but never set foot in the “city that contributed the most money to his campaign, and the state that gave him more votes than all but California (where he has made two stops).”

As the News asked “What’s up with that?”

The day before that column ran, the Daily News got their answer.

This was the image Obama was going for:

But this is what people on the ground saw:

And here is how they reacted:

The Fall Out: Obama Political Appointee Resigns

Friday, May 8th Louis Caldera, the director of the White House Military Office and the man who authorized the flight resigned. His letter of resignation is here. Former Bush Press Secretary Dana Perino discloses that the Bush White House had advised the incoming Obama Administration to select a career military officer for the job but Obama ignored that advice and gave the job to Caldera, a political appointee.

Another interesting aspect of the incident is the inclusion of an Air National Guard F-16 from the Alabama unit known as the Tuskegee Airmen, the first all black Air Force unit. Speculation is that this was done for political reasons to honor the nation’s first black president.

In his letter to Senator John McCain regarding the incident Defense Secretary Gates expressed his “concern[] about the use of an Air National Guard aircraft operating in Title 32 status as a participant in this event.” Gates promises a continuing review which will hopefully answer some of the questions raised by this incident.

Days before the $357,000 photo op, Obama was holding another of his photo ops. This time to report that he had asked members of his cabinet to identify spending cuts in their departments. He revealed that the Dept. of Homeland Security had already made savings by buying office supplies in bulk.

It will take a lot of scrimping on paper clips to pay for his campaign photo of Air Force One!

That’s really a poor picture. You have a reflection in the upper right corner, and the bottom of the canopy near the bottom. I take better photos out of my car window.

@Duane Lester: You’re right. It is pretty poor. They probably had some better ones, at least I hope so for that price.

Nothing like the famous AF-One photo over Mount Rushmore:

I love our Mayor, he’s 100% right in this, (and quite nice at the ballpark!) Can’t wait to vote for him yet again.

What makes me most angry about this photo op is that taxpayers are paying for it – if I want to pay to have the crap scared out of me, I’ll go to a movie.

Hey, look on the bright side. The Moron in Chief said it would not happen again. The same guy that spent your cash on a big time Wagu steak feed for for his pals, flew a pizza guy from St. Louis to DC to make him a pie, and his old lady wears $450.00 a pair tennies to do “volunteer work” for the homeless.

Yep, this is the Affirmative Action President. No Birth Certificate available, No Transcripts from University available, No published works from Harvard Law Review available, bought a home from a convicted Felon, Rezko, for next to nothing, has a Socialist Punk Ballerina with a nasty temper for his Chief of Staff and has his own personal watermelon patch planted on White House grounds. Declassified documents to embarrass the former administration while the Nation is at War, sat in a church for 20 years and never heard a disparaging word from a Racist Pastor and the Skies are not Cloudy all day…..

America got Punked Big Time. Rape, pillage & plunder on the US Treasury goes on unabated to send billions to ACORN and the US Mint can’t print up dollars fast enough to suit him but the Veterans Administration, Social Security and Medicare go Underfunded.

I just returned home from my Daughters Military Ball and within weeks she will report to the Air Force Academy. Will she fly biplanes or pilot a blimp or be taxi service pilot for Senators or the Squeaker of the House that cannot recall the elements of a Classified Intelligence briefing during a time of War? The pre 9.11.01 mentality is policy of the Pretender in Chief’s agenda.

I am not an Ivy League Grad, just a bootstrap Grad of UNC Chapel Hill, War College Grad, have Campaign Ribbons that predate Barry Soetero’s Mom spreading her legs for his Communist Daddy and served my Nation when it would have been more convenient to to serve myself.

The First Kenyan – American President is Historic. He will leave a mark on history. Aided & abetted by folks that are “Entitled” for reasons that I cannot comprehend or find justification for…silly me. Never owned any Slaves, been deployed to Countries where Slavery was legal,
stopped genocide, saw mass graves and still believe that as soon as America realizes what they voted for….they will will remove the Traitors by bullets or ballots.

I danced with my Daughter tonight at Her Military Ball and she is worried about her future.
Love of Country matters more than anything to her. She is America. She flies a Super Cessna turbo 182 now with skill. Biden has fooled America for years and rides Amtrac.

Go figure…

Ok so the original excuse was it was a ’secret training exercise/publicity photo shoot’ so secret that even President Obama wasn’t consulted.
“Oh look a flying pig” :)

@Old Trooper: Congratulations on your daughter going to the Air Force Academy.

Glad to know there are still some folks proud enough of this country to want to serve.

Is there a reason the flag of the country is facing left not right on Scare Force One?

@eaglewingz08:

The American flag appears as such to give the appearance of forward movement. It is the same for the American flags worn on the right shoulder of Army ACUs.

There should be a flag thrown, however, regarding the claim that this was a “training exercise”. I doubt the USAF is any different but when we engage in any kind of training in the Army, there are specified tasks, established standards, and defined conditions given. The Task, Conditions, and Standards are established before any activity is initiated.

Someone somewhere along the line has been asked, told, or has taken it upon themselves to make up a story about “training” after the event, it would seem. At what level in the chain of command this took place I have no idea but it needs to be determined and the individual(s) involved need to be punished accordingly.

Potentially worse than what may amount to a fraudulent effort to cover a clear case of waste and abuse is the 10 SEP 01 mindset that must prevail in order to allow such a stupid stunt to go on in the first place. It leaves me wondering how far this failing runs within the Obama administration.

@tfhr: The Obama White House has been pointing the finger at the Air Force.

But their own review is interesting:
http://static.cbslocal.com/station/wcbs/docs/flyover.pdf

It totally overlooks the big question which is WHO authorized this and why?

It suggests that no on in the White House Military office initiated the flight, even though the Deputy Director was fully aware. But at every point it fails to mention the WHO and WHY of the story.

Maybe we will get that kind of detail when the Dept. of Defense releases it’s review. But don’t hold your breathe.

I would not have thought that just anybody could decide to take up one of the planes the President uses as Air Force One for a joy ride but I could be wrong.

As to what I call the “Tuskegee Factor”, Gateway Pundit posits and interesting possibility:

http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/

–snip–

“UPDATE: Dave Clark thinks their might be a Tuskegee connection:

I wonder if 2+2=4 here. The flyby is a curiosity in that the escort of the Presidents VC-25 were Alabama ANG F-16’s from the 187th Fighter Wing, and who’s roots go back to the Tuskegee airmen, the “Red Tails.” Their fame was to not lose a bomber/aircraft during escort.

George Lucas, a big contributor to the Obama campaign, is doing a movie on the Tuskegee airmen, and it could be that this escort “training mission” was a tax payer $300,000+ payback. How fitting it would be to show the Tuskegee’s descendants flying such an important modern day escort mission as a movie closer.”

Now, we know from the Chrysler debacle and 0bama’s threats to CA that he is on a mission to pay back his campaign ‘debts’, even if it’s by stealing from the taxpayer. So, the behavior would fit with the theory presented in GP……

Food for thought.

@kozanne: Thanks for that info. There is certainly something fishy about the Tuskegee escort here. It’s not like that’s their regular job. Maybe we will learn more when the Dept. of Defense makes their review public.

@Mike’s America:

Mike and kozanne,

Thanks for supplying the links but it doesn’t do anything for me but raise more questions. The phrase, “atypical training” jumps off of the page. If it is true that Air Guard aircraft and crews from Alabama were involved in this matter then that would require another level of coordination not spoken to in the “memo”. I understand that McCain has raised a question about that and I hope he does better following up on that than he did other recent endeavors he initiated.

It would be interesting to pursue a Freedom of Information Act query regarding training requirements satisfied by this particular flight with a Fraud, Waste and Abuse report filed alongside.

Hmmmm.
