Democrats Demand That States Have No Power On What Funds They Can Accept From The Fed’s…..Obey Ceasar!

Loading

Chuck Schumer is demanding that the States in the union should NOT have the power to make decisions on the what and where the money given to them is spent from the Generational Theft Act:

In recent days, a small minority of governors, mostly Republicans, have publicly weighed the possibility of foregoing certain emergency provisions provided under the American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed last week by President Obama. I believe this prospect not only would undercut the stimulative effect of the recovery package, but also is inconsistent with a key provision included in the law passed by Congress. To protect the integrity of the recovery program, I urge the administration to issue implementation guidance clarifying that while any Governor may exercise his or her discretion to accept or reject the federal funds provided in the stimulus, no Governor should have the authority to arbitrarily adopt a select subset of the overall package.

Note: letter isn’t up on Schumers website yet, you can google the above and be taken to the looney left sites that have it up….will not link to them.

He cries that some states are rejecting the additional tax on small businesses by refusing to expand unemployment insurance for laid off workers. The tax is an undue burden on the segment of our society that is the backbone of capitilism. The small business owner. Thankfully there are a few Republicans refusing to put this burden on the backs of the small business owner.

Either the states accept all the money and spend it how they are told to spend it or they get none of it. In effect demanding fealty to the emperor.

What ever happened to state sovereignty?

state sovereignty?

You silly, silly man! That idea is so 1787.

State sovereignty? That went out of vogue after this little tiff in mid-60s. 1860s, that is.

How many Hitlers does our government have?

Every year or so, the State legislators get a hair up their butt and do another sovereignty resolution. Ten states have passed yet another “we be sovereign” resolution INRE this stimulus… including Arnie’s California.

Doesn’t matter. It’s just political lip service. They’ll all take the money and spend it according to Pelosi/Reid/Obama rules. But they can look back during re’election, and point to their resolution as a “see we tried!” moment.

What BS…. No guts, no honor in politics anymore. Or was there ever?

It’s called “reverse theft”…the robber puts a gun to your head, inserts the money into your back pocket, tells you to “spend it or else”, then leaves into the night.

Check out the video from this morning’s Morning Joe interview with Schumer this morning. Schumer has no idea what he’s talking about.

Muskets and rakes at dawn.

funny. they steal our money, they decide to spend our stolen money on useless things and if a state says that our stolen money would be better spent over “here” they get no money? what a load of shit.

Fine. If you are not going to let them have the funds they need, then each state should say they won’t contribute to the national economy.

For example, Louisana produces a lot of oil and natural gas. Jindal should say, if you don’t fix those levies in New Orleans, you don’t get the oil or the revenues. Take that, Congress!

Repeal the 17th Amendment, the last wave of populism that swept over the ignorants of America.

There is no Federal Government without the states.

I don’t think they want to make Texas mad as they don’t take kindly to federallies pushing them around – aka Alamo.

bill-tb: Repeal the 17th Amendment, the last wave of populism that swept over the ignorants of America.

As of Jan 2009 there were:

27 Democratic controlled legislatures
14 Republican-controlled legislatures
8 Split legislatures
1 Officially nonpartisan (Nebraska)

Maybe we need to do away with the Senate rules that allow for a super majority to stop debate… that is not even in the Constitution? Just a question. 🙂

I guess chuckie wants a real civil war. But then again, the little scumbag couldn’t drive a hot railroad spike up a snowman’s ass.
