Your Chance to Air Your Opinion to the RNC

Loading

Ever felt a “little” bit peeved at the RNC for any reason? Especially in the last several years? Well now’s your chance to voice your CONSTRUCTIVE criticism through RNC Grassroots, and have some influence. When FA readers talk, the RNC listens…or so we’re hoping.

From Lorie Byrd:

I am working on one of the subcommittees that will be reporting to the RNC regarding tech/grassroots. We are trying to get as many ideas, suggestions, comments, etc. as possible from as many people as possible. If you have ever criticized the RNC, this is the time to make your voice heard because they are listening. If there is anything you believe the RNC has done right, this is the time to let them know so they can do more of it.

I’ve always favored a Constitutional amendment to allow wage earner to keep a minimum of 50% of what they make.
This means that all governments .. local, county, state, federal and global governments would have to fight over the same 50% (tops). After you pay 50%, you would have a Constitutional Right to tell them to F.. off.

Where has the RNC been the last 8 yrs? I felt that W was out there with no one to back him up or defend what he was doing in Iraq. Anything and everything that the Dems said was left to stand on its own without any rebuttal from the Republicans. Come on, if I’m going to bat for you, the Republican Party, and the future of our country you can’t just leave us out to dry. The majority of Americans didn’t even realize that the Dems were in control of Congress! Why was that? Pelosi and Reid are the most corrupt, distasteful representatives of the Dem Party, let’s exploit that!

Love, love love Michael Steele and I cannot wait to see the changes that he brings to our party and to our image.

Let the Revolution begin!

The RNC had better get it right this time. There should be an adherence to conservative priniples and forget reahing out across the aisle. If you build on these principles “they will come” whether they are women, blacks, Asians, Hispanics.

R, has it right. I let Mr. Steele know in letter to his office, that using a hip hop message to reach blacks and hispanics is more of the same, only a different voice. Adherence to that which put us in the majority in ’94 would be a step in the right direction. A conservative message will be heard and is long overdue.
Note the chord struck by Rick Santelli. Not only Repubs are responding to this Tea Party. The time is ripe for Michael Steele to take advantage of the moment. This administration is taking our country hard left and in a hurry!
Listening to the charade “Fiscal Responsibility Summit” briefing and it’s important to listen carefully how Obama uses his words and nuances. He’s going to steal the moniker, “Slick” from Slick Willy!

The RNC hasn’t done ANYTHING right since 2002 when they absolutely shut down the DNC’s play-it-both-ways game. Back in late 2002 Howard Dean was making major headway (he was the Presidential frontrunner bigtime), and he did so by opposing the war in Iraq. Democrats opposed it, then authorized it, then opposed it. The RNC shut that spin effort down by putting together the famous internet video of Democrats opposing the war, then supporting it. Since then, the RNC has been absent. The DNC has created myth after myth and successfully sold them to the public via mass media. As we can see by the collapse of newspapers and traditional media (see also CBS advertising and revenue report last week), old media is lazy media, and lazy media gets its news verbatim from the web.

THIS is the frontline

THIS is where the RNC stood up, then sat down, then…I dunno…maybe they started doing tequila shots or something for the next couple of years.

On the left, the flowchart is simple. There’s a topic/talking point picked by the DNC. It’s investigated, discussed, refined on Daily KOS, Huffpo, and a half dozen or dozen key websites. Then the refined topic is picked up by the media, often not even checked, and reported to the masses. Average Americans-the people who decide elections and decide if issues are carried or not-simply don’t have the time or inclination to look into the nuances of politics. They trust their news-at least to a certain extent.

On the right, the flowchart is all over the place. There’s a topic (usually grabbed on by conservative bloggers as the RNC does NOT drive the spread of info at ALL). The topic’s disseminated, spun, countered or promoted by the left. Conservative websites try to put out the truth, reveal the lies, expose the spin and distortion, end the myths, and they (WE!) get diddly crap for support from the RNC. Honestly, the last time I remember seeing a really good counter to a leftist theme or lie was back in 2002. I haven’t seen it since.

The RNC needs to lead the way. They need to hire people to do their web work who are at the very least as capable as the best conservative bloggers on the web (and I’m not talking about me, but rather people far better). Instead of having those people work for the RNC, the RNC depends on their free handouts and free opposition to the left’s lies, distortions, spin, and myth-farming. It’s disgusting.

I don’t even know who the head of the RNC WAS before Steele. Even now…I don’t see Steele out and about like I used to Howard Dean or Terry McAullife or even Ed Gillspie. Really, how are Republicans every going to win elections or at least prevent the deliberate misleading of this nation if they’re absent.

Pissed? Damn right. As much as Obama and Democrats are responsible for today’s economic collapse and threatening Iran…I blame the RNC for kickin’ back w Tequila (and mark my words, doing Tequila shots is a lot better excuse than being lazy, absent, or screwed up).

They are listening? Great. Then tell them if they want to stir up a great deal of conservative…that is, actual, real, true-to-life conservative support and excitement, demand that Mitch McConnell remove Specter, Snowe and Collins from all committee assignments, refuse them entry into republican meetings and suggest in writing that they become either independents or democrats. I’ll guarantee that the next call for contributions will be met with a fundraising bonanza. Naturally this will never happen. But then if it were indeed possible, the republican party would not have nominated McCain or lost seats in the house and senate, would it!

@OLDPUPPYMAX:

Look’s like Michael Steele is leaning toward some sort of discipline.

Roll the tape:

We need real grass roots involvement.

Regardless if direction or ideas come from the grass roots, the people need to be and feel connected with what is happening in the Republican party, That connection has been lost, and that connection in the Dem party, under the Fred Dean style grass roots model, is exactly what steam rolled the Rep party the last two elections.

What I propose is that at our county HQ, and if possible, the state and even national party HQ, establish a on line discussion and advisory board to which any registered party member can participate in. On this disscusion board there would be addtional forums beyond the publicly available forums, that only those who are PCO’s and above can participate in. The many forums on the bulletin board would be available to be divided along various culling lines, such as topics or regions. An example of one such bulletin board is here http://sportbikes.ws/index.php

This Republican Party bulletin board would be cross linked to every official Republican website so as to insure that if anyone has an observation or idea that could help the Republican party, it would be seen by at least one party official at some level, who could respond intelligently to it and perhaps move it up the line for proper action. It would also help to coordinate the party officials and the party focus and message, from top to bottom and bottom to top.

This bulletin board would require some administrative care taking, and just as the site I posted as an example does it, volunteers could do the majority of the policing for profanity and abuse of terms. There would need only be minimal personnel for the technical care of the site. A license is about 500$ for the software, or perhaps there is a Republican member who could write our own. But that is part of the point. We have talent and resources in the party that we don’t even know about, let alone have an efficient manner to tap and utilize.

The GOP has done this type of thing before.

Sorry, I’m not biting this time…

I have always felt that the GOP should engage in some basic informational sharing via the internet. One of the key things is to educate the public on the history of our nation and GOP presidents such as Lincoln, Eisenhower and Reagan. There most certainly is an attempt being made by liberal outlets to rewrite the history of our nation and redefine these men.
I would propose an interactive website that would be supported by historical facts concerning the founding fathers, the national documents and GOP presidents.

Damian,
That is one of the things my discussion board would address.

Okay, Bill, which way to that board? I’ve presented my ideas to the chair of my state with moderate interest. There are a few ideas that I feel can be used to enhance GOP initiatives.
