SO, not only is Senator Obama (and all his aides and admin nominees) silent on the war over Gaza, but he’s also blowing off the Democrats’ Congress’ efforts to get a stimulus package through…well, one for average Americans instead of just investment banks, insurance companies, automakers, etc. Yeah, nice Senator. Ya may not be President yet, but you sure as hell couldn’t keep your mouth shut on any topic for the years you were a Presidential CANDIDATE. If you do more as a Presidential candidate than as a President elect…how’re you gonna suddenly start doing things as a President? Foolish choices Barack. The American press is noticing. The European press is noticing. The Arab press is noticing. Now….the Democrats’ Congress (your own party) is noticing. Once upon a time he was a man of words not deeds (per Hillary Clinton). Now, without even words, he’s nothing. Let the reality begin:

Democratic leaders are increasingly concerned that they won’t be able to offer an economic stimulus package for congressional debate until late January because they haven’t received a plan from President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team. Democrats initially had hoped to unveil details of the economic recovery package this week and to pass it by Inauguration Day, Jan. 20, so it would be ready for Mr. Obama’s signature soon after his swearing-in.
sdfsdfh

Estimates are that the plan will call for spending as much as $850 billion over two years. “The weak economy demands quick action, and that is our intention,” House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D., Md.) said in an interview Tuesday. “But significant work remains to be done. We need to do this right and make wise investments, plus members and the public need time to review it. So the timing very well may slip.” Rep. David Obey (D., Wis.), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, added, “I had been hoping that the timetable would be this week” for having a proposal in hand. But Mr. Obey said Mr. Obama’s team, which recently met with congressional committee leaders, is still determining the details of the package it wants. “The Obama people are still trying to chew through all of that, to decide what they think works and what doesn’t at this stage,” Mr. Obey said. Once Mr. Obama’s aides come up with a package, he added, congressional Democrats will have to negotiate with them over the details. “First we’ve got to have some signals called by Obama,” Mr. Obey said. “It’s hard to negotiate with somebody if the other party hasn’t decided what they want out of the negotiations.”

Meanwhile, instead of commenting about Gaza, or Somali pirates, or the recession, or a stimulus for the 95% of Americans he promised…the world wonders: “Where IS Senator/Pres-elect Obama?”

I do hope, for his sake, Chickenman golfs better than he bowls.

And, yeah, pants instead of shorts, for sure!

Well, Lucianne.com… has an article up this morning, didn’t read the entire thing, but from the first paragraph they post it’s sounding like he won’t be doing any tournaments, better stick to basketball and working out.

@Missy:

Do you have the specific link? I went over there and couldn’t find it. They deal in such volume.

Also, just one more observation. Tiger Woods wears pants, and he can golf, too. I guess he doesn’t need the distraction, …”Yeah, you think his game is bad; have you seen those legs?!”

@yonason:

I saw the legs, my dog has nicer legs than Obama and they are only about 4 inches tall. Guess the fur helps.

Here it is, note all the excuses, all in fun, heh:

Obama is probably in Hawaii collecting his inheritance from his typical white grandmother. Funny, he couldn’t spend more than a few hours with her during her final days, not to mention that the fabulous Mechelle and offspring didn’t bother at all, but NOW they can spend nearly 2 weeks?? WTF is up with that??

@Missy:

Thanks

“— he’s only a little smoother on the links than he is in a bowling alley”

And I think I share with, many on the right, a sneaky suspicion that he will be more than a little less smooth in the Oval Office than he is on the lanes. What WAS America thinking?!

@chandler:

You know chandler, I didn’t get that either. From what I heard his grandmother wasn’t aware of much in the end, probably didn’t recognize family at that stage, but, what about his sister that was taking care of his mother? If it were my family, *we would have all been there to support her and each other* and would have spent time together pouring over family photo’s and clinging to all the special moments shared with her. It was his grandmother and his children’s great-grandmother for pete’s sake, she raised him. Even people that hadn’t seen my father in 60 years attended his funeral and took the time to tell us of the childhood experiences they had with my father, that was so comforting and much appreciated even when coming from people we had never known.

They are just different I guess. No funeral that I’ve heard of either, new kind of president, different kind of life. Nothing like I’ve ever known.

Kenyan “family values” apparently aren’t all that similar to ours, it would seem.

ain’t it the truth!!!? How’s that go, “Oh, my grandmother was so close to me. She basically raised me. She’s a very important person in my life so…I’m gonna blow her off on her deathbed to campaign in an election where there’s no reason I should lose.”

WTF?!

Who cares if the ONE is silent on Gaza or delaying the Stimulus package, look at those legs and shorts, that’s why he got elected, not for any silly policy positions. /LMSM OpEd.

Yon #7:

There’s the Telegraph article comparing Obama/Bush swings.

Here’s the Lucianne comment thread for that.

Then there’s the comment thread for another story from the NYTs. Here’s that story link. Don’t know which one Missy is talking about, but suspect the first one.

Lucianne has a good search function, but only goes back one or two days.
