Pirates die strangely after taking Iranian ship

Loading

Yes, this is the same ship Flopping Aces reported on a while back. There is no more news about it other than this report which is yet another confirmation of the strange pirate deaths. The msm and govts are not talking about this at all. It’s a full on blackout.

A tense standoff has developed in waters off Somalia over an Iranian merchant ship laden with a mysterious cargo that was hijacked by pirates. Somali pirates suffered skin burns, lost hair and fell gravely ill “within days” of boarding the MV Iran Deyanat. Some of them died.

Andrew Mwangura, the director of the East African Seafarers’ Assistance Programme, told the Sunday Times: “We don’t know exactly how many, but the information that I am getting is that some of them had died. There is something very wrong about that ship.” The vessel’s declared cargo consists of “minerals” and “industrial products”. But officials involved in negotiations over the ship are convinced that it was sailing for Eritrea to deliver small arms and chemical weapons to Somalia’s Islamist rebels.

Thanks for reposting this. I commented on the earlier thread that this whole incident is really bizarre. I agree that there appears to be a “full on blackout” which is telling in itself. I’ve been googling every day to see if I can find any updates. Nothing recent. I would think if the story was proven to be false that it would be stated.

I did find a youtube report on it from “Russia Today”. It puts some pictures to the story.

Saw something on this eleswhere.
U.S. officials are saying they don’t believe the ship has anything radioactive. They pointed out the illness/deaths sounds like radiation poisoning as opposed to chemical exposure. Further it was mentioned that the Somali govt. officials who have made these claims have “exaggerated” before. The effort to obtain money is usually behind such claims.

The reason there’s no more news is that the guy in Kenya who leaked the info on the Iranian ship also leaked the info on the Ukrainian ship w 33 Russian tanks on board. The Kenyan govt arrested him and put him in jail for 6 days for making false statements about the Russian ship (which have since been found true). Maybe, if he gets out, we’ll learn more. I doubt it. I think this is gonna be one of those stories-like the ones about Saddam’s WMD going to Syria in Russian convoys, cargo planes, and ships-that just disappears.

What’s SUPER SCARY is that the pirate group is suppsedly funneling ransom money and arms from the Ukrainian ship and a Spanish ship they grabbed to an Al Queda affiliate in Africa. If that’s the case, then I’m very concerned that whatever the chemicals are on the Iranian ship (WMD or dual use matls) is going to wind up in the hands of AQ.

Not a good situation.

The pirate in the video is actually carrying a sword! Time for a CQB enhancement, drop the M4 add the cutlass.

The combination of symptom’s presented, particularly hair loss, does not fit chemical or biological warfare agents I know of (My former military experience included being a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) warfare instructor). I tend to agree with Hard Right. The symptoms do fit perfectly with radiation exposure and this would be serious cause for concern since the Iranian ship involved was certainly not a nuclear vessel and was carrying military goods destined for a Third World nation. The monetary ransom demanded also raised my eyebrow as a bit excessive, also possibly suggesting the ship might have had nuclear materials on board (which would in itself be a serious violation of international law.). And if so why this ship specifically targeted by the pirates? Is Ahmadinejad outsourcing materials to make “dirty” nuclear devices?

As stated, doubt has been presented of the voracity of the claims, but it is food for thought.

This happened on the X-Files! It was radiation.

Seriously though, this is weird. Thanks for keeping an eye on this. Can’t wait to see how it develops. . . .
