Inexperienced Obama & The October Surprise

Loading

Even on vacation Obama gets more coverage from the fawning media then McCain does. But that may not prevent the October surprise from occurring thanks to one Jeremiah Wright:

In October, Obama’s former pastor, Wright, will publish a new book and hit the road to promote it, an occasion that might well place the topic of Obama’s blackness (along with his patriotism and his candor about what he heard in the pews in all those years at Trinity Church) squarely at the center of the national debate.

Will he throw himself under the bus to save Obama or will he tell the truth? Thats the question.

Meanwhile Obama shows us how inexperienced and naive he is on the world stage, this time over the Russia aggression against Georgia:

Obama, a Democratic senator from Illinois, also urged a multinational response but added that U.N. Security Council should play a major role in helping end the crisis. He said the Security Council should pass a resolution calling for an immediate end to the violence, and urged a U.N. mediator to join French and Finnish foreign ministers in Georgia to try to end the fighting.

“The U.N. must stand up for the sovereignty of its members and peace in the world,” Obama told reporters during his weeklong vacation in Hawaii.

Now that’s funny. Is he unaware that Russia has veto power on the council?

Probably neither. If he wanted to help Obama, he’d hide in a closet until December and hope that people forgot about him. Telling the truth is not likely high on his list of priorities either. He’s timing this to maximize sales of his book and dollars in his pocket, nothing else.

The Corner has some thoughts on a UN s. c. resolution:

“Is he unaware that Russia has veto power on the council?”

Well… you know… all liberals are simpletons, incapable of thinking beyond step 1 of a problem. I always enjoy the stupidity from the left. “International Agreements” is the battle cry, but agreements are only good if the countries follow them. Example, China’s agreement to patent and copyright rules. They signed several “international agreements”, but I can still pick up pirated copies of nearly anything in China. China also signed the Kyoto Protocol, but they have a “mist” problem.

“Is he unaware that Russia has veto power on the council?”

OK .. if Obama hadn’t figured that out, who else out there will know that.

Stupidity must be contagious …

On ABC’s “This Week,” Richardson, auditioning to be Barack Obama’s running mate, disqualified himself. Clinging to the Obama campaign’s talking points like a drunk to a lamppost, Richardson said that this crisis proves the wisdom of Obama’s zest for diplomacy and that America should get the U.N. Security Council “to pass a strong resolution getting the Russians to show some restraint.” Apparently Richardson was ambassador to the United Nations for 19 months without noticing that Russia has a Security Council veto.

Meanwhile, another racist attack

This would be fubby, but this idiot migh actually be the next President of the United States of America.

Fascinating and educational “Jonah” post, Doug. Thanks. Ah the twisted and convoluted UN Articles…. But it’s all moot, IMHO.

Everyone and anyone can “call” on Russia and the UNSC to do the right thing, despite Russia’s status as a G8 member. However Russia is a major oil producer, exporter and crucial player in the global petroleum market. And the Europeans find themselves in the same position as the the US with the Middle East – dependent upon them for a high degree of their basic necessities in life.

So my personal opinion is the UN and NATO will do what they do best… nothing.

I wonder if this idiot knows where the bathroom is. Now I understand how Hitler rose to power, feelings instead of facts, and raw emotion over riding their heads.

Interesting poll if it is to be believed:

For what it’s worth, I’m a bit skeptical. But I am inclined to think Obama will probably do 10 points more than Kerry did among evangelicals.

As one of Obama’s constituents, I’ve been well aware of his horrible stance on abortion and his even more horrible stance on the born alive act that he did not allow to get out of committee. It’s interesting that public interest is now starting to percolate on this issue. I wonder what evangelical polling will look like when they are presented with the cold, ugly facts about how the messiah could give a darn about the innocent babies that manage to survive abortions, babies that were left to die in dirty utility rooms. He listened to the testimony of nurses that experienced the tragic loss of life regarding these babies but, because of the support he gets from NARAL, it’s too bad, so sad. Babies can’t vote.

Actually, I believe I read elsewhere that Russia would be required to abstain from a vote under the article which covers such a resolution. They do still have a veto under the article (article 7?) which covers any actual sanctions/military responses (naturally, this is the UN after all).
