Withdrawing From Iraq Will Increase Respect for America

Well, that’s the Democratic Party line at least, but is it true? For example, will an American withdrawal from Iraq give the United States more credibility and put this nation in a position of more authority when dealing with Iran (and their terrorist surrogates like Hezzbollah, or their allies like Syia and North Korea)?

Apparently, uh…no. Seems like they already think the Democrats’ demands for an unconditional (non-“conditions-based” timeline for withdrawal to be PC) is a joke. No doubt, the talk not only destroys deterrence, and weakens the US at a diplomatic table, but it’s so funny to them that they’ve come to using the left’s mantra as a cartoon.

Democrats like to ignore the facts about the war in Iraq and often prefer to make wild-ass-guesses rather than use real statistics in discussion. It’s made the entire discussion of the war nearly impossible given the lack of reality.

The reality is…it’s a stupid move that doesn’t increase respect for the United States. Merely advocating the idea has emboldened those who need to respect us the most.

Yeah, advocating withdrawal based on a calender rather than conditions on the ground has REALLY helped, and an actual withdrawal will clearly garner international respect-NOT. One could reasonably wonder if perhaps the opposition to the occupation and reconstruction of Iraq for the past five years has done more damage to America’s international respect than the invasion did (especially since the governments that opposed the invasion-France and Germany in particular-were removed, and conservative governments elected to replace them).
