Yes I can see why you voted for her! I would to though, I love a women with Brains.

I second that nomination Mike. Skye has been one of the few that not only talks the talk but walks the walk. She does more then bitch about how things are, she actively tries to change them.

Congrats Skye!

Mike,

That’s a great summation of the “Year in Skye”. She and Jennifer have been so active in the blogosphere, and in the real world, making the difference that matters.

Great post! Congratulations, skye!

I hope you guys will offer your congratulations to Skye at her page. She doesn’t know yet that she’s received this small token of my appreciation.

I’m going out to eat, first.

I am in awe….

Thank you for this recognition!

🙂

Well deserved!

I had the privilege of meeting Skye at the September counter-protest in DC. She’s a genuine sweetheart – unless you’re a Lefty. Congrats, Skye.

Skye is #1 in my book too! Met her in May at GoE II, and again in September at GoE III. Looking forward to the next event.

I know this is late in coming but I just want to add my “Congratulations” to Skye here at Mike’s America.

I live in West Chester and watched, week after week as the angry so-called “peace” protestors demonstrated on the busiest (and most historic) intersection of our town. They said they were conducting “peace vigils” but these mean-spirited far-left activists used the weekly “vigil” to bash Bush and blame America.

I decided to counter them and finally did on Sept 8, and I was confronted by them in the most intolerant way. They had the stage alone, for almost 5 years – yet when I showed up (there was 15 of them and one of me) for the last 20 minutes of their rally – they yelled at me, they cussed me, they bumped and jostled me – trying to block my sign with their peace flags and anti-american signs. I remember thinking, “I can’t believe they are this intolerant (call me nieve).

Anyway, when I got home I sent an email to a blogger friend of mine (Atlas Shrugs) telling her that I just did a one-man counter-protest against a group of anti-war protestors that had been “occupying” the courthouse corner of our town for almost 5 years. Atlas always writes how “the individual” will save the day, and that phrase helped inspire me to get started in West Chester. Well, she posted my email and the next thing I knew a guy from Gathering of Eagles saw it, passed it up the GOE chain, and THEY posted it.

That’s where Skye comes in. She read it on GOE and then she emailed me and said, “I’m a blogger from Philly and I want to come and cover your counter-protests” and I thought, “Wow, how lucky is this!! – a BLOGGER wants to come all the way from philly and put this story on her blog”. I didn’t realize she was gonna keep coming and covering our rallies every week.

I remember thinking that without Skye’s reports on her blog – who would know we’re out here? It’s like a kid is a great high school football player, who (outside the team) would know about him if his feats on the field weren’t documented in the paper. That’s how important her VLOGS and reports were to us. She got our movement “Out There”. (Also, I must credit the GOE for using their clout to bring so many fellow patriots out to support my counter-protest).

And now, thanks to Skye’s reports (always complete with photos and video) we just keep growing. Skye has become more than “a blogger” covering the event. I consider her a full-partner in deciding how to best present ourselves and our message. In the early days, her ideas and feedback really helped keep me and the rest of us focused. We saw that the best way to succeed was to present a positive image that others would want to join. She has a great personality and a heart of gold and is wise beyond her years. I don’t know if we would be where we are today without her involvement.

When she was struck on March 22 by the angry “peace” protestor – many people wanted Skye to go for the juggler. But all she ever wanted was a “written apology” – she felt that by taking the high road – we would come out more ahead. And she was right. She didn’t kick the criminal when he was down, instead she stuck to her guns and led by example.

Our movement in West Chester has a reputation of being “positive”, of being patriotic without being obnoxious. She has brought a touch of class to our rallies and as a result – we continue to grow, we get over 30 people every week now and have even gone over 40 a couple times!

On June 14, we are going to have “Flag Day in West Chester” and we hope to get even more people interested in our Pro-Troop movement.

Thanks to Mike’s America for having the wisdom to select Skye as Blogger of the Year. All of us “American Sheepdogs” (home of the Chester County Victory Movement) are proud of “OUR BLOGGER OF THE YEAR!”

Sincerely,
Rich Davis

Well said Rich. I hope the example that both you and Skye has set will inspire others. One person does make a difference.
