I hope the Senate passes the Pryor-Bond-Levin-Voinovich amendment that would realistically raise fuel economy standards to a reasonable level while mandating automakers utilize more advanced, environmentally friendly technologies. I’m a part of DriveCongress.com and I think Washington should focus more on alternative fuels, which could hurt demand for gas and likely bring prices down.

Hate to quibble with a good rant, but that 14% is Congress’ performance in the annual Confidence in Institutions poll, not Congress’ approval rating according to Gallup. That stands at 24% as of yesterday (only twice has it been lower over the last 11 months), with a 47-point spread between approval and disapproval (only matched by the lame-duck Congress in December).

Thanks for the correction Steve. I posted the correction. Pretty low on all measures all the way around.
