What the flying eff is going on with our MSM where they think nothing about spending this much freakin time on a known drug addict playboy centerfold? This is not Marilyn Monroe, who had talent. This is a female with a huge rack who married 90 year old rich guys for their money!
I mean what the hell?
You would hope our MSM would spend this amount of time on one of heroes jumping on a grenade to save his buddies, or maybe even just ONE of our soldiers over in Iraq. But unless they can spin it in such a way to blame Bush they ignore those who are REALLY newsworthy.
Meanwhile Blackfive is trying to gather intelligence to counter the MSM reporting of the surge. You know, the reporting in which they detail how many Americans died but mention nothing about how many we killed or captured.
So here is the deal. I am requesting information about all actions in Baghdad and Al Anbar, specifically how many enemy dead or captured. If all the public hears is 4 more Marines died, they will have no feel for what their lives bought. That is the currency of war, I hate it but it’s reality. Without an enemy body count, we have no way to gauge success. The administration has decided not to release numbers on enemy casualties, but I haven’t.

We can do this by cross-referencing different media sources reporting on actions, checking press releases from involved units, passing on first hand or second, maybe third hand info. Part of intel evaluation and analysis involves rating sources, so if you hear from your cousin whose in Baghdad, that one of the other battalions in his unit got in a scrap, and a guy he knows over there says they whacked 15 tangos, that gets thrown in the overall matrix and is factored in.
Basically they report no facts in which a reader can tell if the operation is a success or not. I’m sure this doesn’t surprise you but anything we can do to counter the silence of our MSM is welcome.

I get alot of DOD email I signed up for back when we first went to Afghanistan, they send daily briefings on what the US and Iraqi and Coalition Forces have killed or captured and are doing, as well as Troops stationed all over the World. I can start posting it on my other blog again and you can grab it if you want, For The Troops.

I’ll tell you why the administration doesn’t want to kepe track of enemy deaths. It’s because when you start doing the math of how many we’re losing compared to how many we’ve killed, it turns the Iraq War into a war of attrition, just like Vietnam turned into. That was proven to be a grave mistake in that war.
