The Blackface Picture

As most of you know by now Jane Hamsher, who posts at the Huffington Post, posted this picture on her blog (firedoglake):

Which has created quite a stir.  You can understand why when you find out that Jane has

But still claims to not be actively involved in Lamonts campaign.  Funny how when his staff asked her to take the picture down, she complied immediately…..me thinks she is a bit more involved then she is letting on.

I know, I know…hard to believe a leftist would lie but there is always a first.

Here she is with one of those non-apologies apology where she blames the Republicans for the whole thing….those evvvviiiiillll Republicans.

Lieberman asked Lamont to ban Jane and Ned's response was quite humourous:

Lieberman called on Lamont to ban Hamsher from traveling with the campaign, refuse to take any money raised by Hamsher and remove any links to her postings on his Web site.

Lamont brushed past reporters Wednesday night in Bridgeport, saying: "I don't know anything about the blogs. I'm not responsible for those. I have no comment on them."

Of course Michelle Malkin wouldn't let this lie stand:

"I don't know anything about the blogs?"

This is a still from Lamont's first TV campaign ad. The guy sitting next to him is the biggest left-wing blogger in the blogosphere, Markos "Screw Them" Moulitsas.

Lamont has his own blog

…with a nutroots blogroll that features Kos, Hamsher, and every other major left-wing blogger on the scene:

Lamont's blogger blogged from the YearlyKos convention, where he pumped up attendees with "Nedrenaline." (And you thought "Joementum" was bad.)

But I think the real story here is the ongoing hypocrisy of the left.  The First Lady gave a speech in Sept of 2005 where she said:

Here at home, the No Child Left Behind Act has put a new emphasis on high standards and on eliminating the achievement gap between white students and minority students. We also want to make sure that children develop a strong character and learn important life lessons. To do that, children need caring adults in their lives. The comedian Eddie Cantor used to say in all seriousness that every time he saw the 10 Most Wanted list, he thought, maybe if we'd made them feel more wanted earlier, they wouldn't be wanted now.

To which Jane replied:

She's fucking kidding me, right?

Does he First Lady not know who Eddie Cantor was? Or does she actually think it's appropriate to invoke a comedian famous for appearing in blackface when talking about minority students, and then crack wise about their erstwhile future as criminals?

Things that make you go hmmmmm.  So typical.

How long do you think it will take for the left to blame Karl Rove in this?
