White House Forced To Walk Back Biden Claims: Admin ‘Not Pursuing’ Using National Guard As Truckers, Not Changing China Policy

The White House was forced to intervene Friday and walk back claims President Joe Biden made during a town hall event on Thursday night, admitting that the administration is “not pursuing” using the National Guard to solve the supply chain crisis and that the official United States policy on China and Taiwan has not changed.

During the town hall, hosted by CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Biden suggested that if supply chain issues persist, he would send in the National Guard to drive trucks from ports where goods are unloaded to retail and big box stores.

“The answer is yes,” Biden said when asked about the possibility of deploying the National Guard to handle supply chain issues. “Absolutely, positively.”

When Cooper suggested that the National Guard could drive trucks, Biden responded positively.

“The answer is yes if we can’t move to increase the number of truckers, which we’re in the process of doing,” he said.

The White House is currently working to partner with commercial shippers and other delivery services to increase the number of long- and short-haul truckers on the roads. The industry, The Hill reports, is approximately 80,000 truckers short, contributing to the ongoing scarcity problems.

The supply chain crisis is multi-faceted and truckers are just one part of a larger, global issue. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a marked downturn in the number of commercial flights which, in turn, caused a downturn in the amount of freight able to travel by air. An increase in the number of cargo ships, China’s decision to reopen its international trade, and the ongoing labor shortage also contribute to the problem.

But, the White House now says, regardless of the president’s feelings on the matter, the administration has not even considered using the National Guard to provide short-term relief to the trucking industry — and it’s unlikely the president would even have the authority.

“Requesting the use of the National Guard at the state level is under the purview of governors, and we are not actively pursuing the use of the National Guard on a federal level,” a White House official told CNN.

A White House spokesperson also walked back Biden’s comments on Taiwan. In the CNN townhall, Biden said that he does not “want a Cold War with China,” but that the U.S. will make “China understand that we are not going to step back, we are not going to change any of our views.” Asked whether the U.S. would defend Taiwan from a Chinese attack, Biden said yes.

So… who IS the *president? How many times did this moron state policy only to have his masters come out and say, “Noooo… we have no intention of doing anything like that.”

I’m sorry… i thought the President created and directed policy. No? Not the case? Gee, I wish we HAD a President along about now.

*not THIS idiot fool

That Joe got major concepts such as who calls them or when the National Guard gets called in and the USA’s long-held “ambiguity policy,” toward relations between us and China/Taiwan, is no surprise.

Watch the numerous clips of Joe and say, with a straight face, that he’s in charge of anything……

Joe mocks the very idea of freedom.

His slack-jawed look as he waits for someone to tell him who those two prominent black men in attendence were (wrong on BOTH counts).

And, yes, what was he doing with his hands?

Many people who were caregivers of senile people weigh in on varios forums about how Joe’s actions and words fit their memories of dead loved ones who were also afflicted.

No idea how to lower fuel prices… no idea. How about reversing the damage YOU did and go back to being a net exporter so that OPEC doesn’t control the amount of available oil and jack the costs up?

Daniel Greenfield has a pretty good take on the California port issue.

Congratulations!

Joe Biden managed to open the US borders to 1.7 illegal migrants this year during the worst pandemic in 100 years. IT was quite an accomplishment that took lots of effort.
Don’t be fooled, the regime is serious about that pandemic.

oops, correct headline for above

As Expected Joe Biden Pledge To Speed Up California Ports Amounts to Absolutely Nothing

In a rare act of journalism, NBC actually followed up on the October 13th grand proclamation of Joe Biden to speed up California ports. What they found is exactly what everyone suspected, the grand prose from the White House was a political pantomime – absolutely nothing has changed. WATCH:

As noted, and as previously outlined, the issues with the backlog of the California ports have absolutely nothing to do with rapid unloading of ships and container vessels. The issue is the inability of California truckers to move those containers. The problem is a shortage of CA emission compliant internal transportation trucks to move the containers out of the port and into the U.S. mainland.

As a result… the politically expedient goal to get rid of the optical problem (the ships) by offloading containers into a California port system, that is already overwhelmed with tens-of-thousands of containers, is only making the original issue exponentially worse. More people are now starting to understand the internal issue that has been created by recent California laws, rules and regulations.

Daniel Greenfield at Front Page Magazine has a solid outline of the emission compliance issues and the problem of independent truckers not being able to work in California:

Front Page Magazine – […] Over the summer, the California Trucking Association actually went to the Supreme Court to fight AB5 and allow owners and operators to use independent contractors. The CTA listed 70,000 owner operators. In the years since AB5, Ubers have become scarcer and more expensive, which is what the law was actually designed to do, but the consequences to the trucking industry have been far worse albeit invisible to most people until now. While truckers are still protected from AB5, many in the industry are not willing to bet their future on SCOTUS.

AB5 was not only the assault on the trucking industry by California Democrats who were aggressively trying to unionize the industry and to impose environmental regulations on it.

Last year, the California Air Resources Board issued a press release boasting that it had taken a “bold step to reduce truck pollution”. The bold step required switching to electric trucks.

“We are showing the world that we can move goods, grow our economy and finally dump dirty diesel,” Jared Blumenfeld, California’s Secretary for Environmental Protection, sneered.

[…] Last year, California’s DMV began refusing to register thousands of trucks with an estimated 100,000 trucks under threat. With “green” trucks costing $70,000 more, this was a non-starter for already troubled independent owner-operators and even larger companies.

[…] Biden called for ports to operate around the clock, but that’s not going to magically bring back thousands of trucks or truckers. California Democrats still haven’t changed their regulations and without that, there’s no incentive or even legal structure that would allow trucks to operate.

Haven’t we all seen over time the initial response and often subsequent response to a critical issue(s) by democrats never resolves the issue?

What have democrats ever done in America that was positive for the Country or it’s citizens?

Cargo ship leaking toxic gas catches fire off U.S. as Biden’s supply-chain nightmare continues

Fears of a major disaster are rising as fire rages aboard a massive container ship now drifting in the waters between the state of Washington and the British Columbian city of Victoria.

Ten containers are burning, according to the Canadian Coast Guard, which said the fire was continuing to spread, according to NBC.

Two containers are carrying around 57 tons of xanthates, a chemical used in mining.

“This is extremely concerning. The ship and containers are very close to Victoria, BC, and a big storm is forecast to hit tonight. We … are worried this may be yet another environmental disaster,” said David Boudinot, president of Surfrider Foundation Canada, an environmental group, according to Reuters.

NBC reported that 16 members of the crew have been evacuated, while five people are left aboard to fight the fires.

A notice on the Coast Guard’s Navigational Warnings website says that “An emergency zone has been established at Constance Bank within 1 mile of the anchored container ship Zim Kingston.”

“The ship is on fire and expelling toxic gas. Two fallen containers are floating in the vicinity of the vessel,” the warning said.

Roughly 40 containers fell into the sea, posing a risk to shipping — as well as possibly bursting open.

On Friday, the Zim Kingston reported it met rough weather in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, a body of water that separates Washington state and Vancouver Island.

“Two of the containers have been identified as carrying spontaneous combustibles,” Petty Officer 3rd Class Diolanda Caballero said, according to the Daily Mail.

“They are currently drifting north but we can’t predict which way they will go because of the heavy weather. The bomb cyclone is around that area,” she said, referring to the massive storm predicted the area Sunday and Monday.

The ship had left Busan, South Korea.

Environment Canada has said high winds are expected Sunday and Monday, according to Canada’s Global News.

U.S. – China Summit: For Xi, The Stars Are In Alignment

Biden’s “America Last” Policy Plays Directly Into The Hands Of Xi’s “China First” Policy
A 2012 photograph of then Vice President Joe Biden and then First Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party Xi Jinping while in Los Angeles shows the two holding up T-shirts with the inscription in English on Biden’s, “Fostering Goodwill Between America & China.” Nine years later, we see that publicity stunt had no more positive impact on relations between the two nations than did the photograph of a 2009 publicity stunt by then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In that photo, Clinton is seen presenting Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov with a red “reset” button – symbolizing hopes of improving ties. (Lavrov was somewhat befuddled by the gesture as the Russian word for “reset” on the button was mistranslated, using instead the word “overcharge” which, obviously, made no sense.)

In the 2012 photograph, there seems to be a bit of a smirk on Xi’s face, as if he knows something Biden (unsurprisingly) does not. Keeping in mind the Wuhan laboratory was already working on developing a deadly virus, designed but for one purpose, Xi’s smirk understandably could have betrayed something BIden did not know then and, sadly, still fails to register with him today. Xi’s smirk also could have suggested his hope that he would soon see Biden in the Oval Office as he needed a lightweight U.S. president there to assist China in undermining America’s economy and military might as well as winning back Taiwan.

There is evidence now, according to a Chinese whistleblower, suggesting that, in Biden’s run for the presidential roses eight years later, Xi played a major role in guaranteeing his election. The claim is China had five million absentee ballots printed(https://conservativedailypost.com/chinese-whistleblower-5-million-ballots-were-printed-in-china-for-us-election/) prior to the November 2020 election and put into play. If true, it is no wonder why Biden received more votes than any other president in U.S. history. Undoubtedly, if confronted with this allegation, we could expect our mentally-challenged president to argue that could not be true as none of the ballots had “made in China” printed on them!

While Biden and Xi have engaged in telephone conversations twice since the former took office, on the evening of November 15th they will hold a virtual summit. It is anticipated that their discussions will include a major hotspot issue – Taiwan – as well as human rights and trade, all in hopes of reaching agreement on reducing increased tensions between the U.S. and China. We need to reflect upon two previous incidents that are most telling about how China views its relationship with the U.S. and how Biden views it.

The first incident occurred shortly after Biden announced his candidacy for president on April 25, 2019. A week later, campaigning in Iowa, he stated that concerns China could eventually surpass the U.S. as a world superpower and economic force were overstated. “China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man. I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. But guess what? They’re not competition for us.”

The second incident occurred in March 2021 when Secretary of State Tony Blinken met in Alaska with a Beijing delegation headed by Chinese foreign affairs chief Yang Jiechi. Blinken called out China for various human rights abuses, urging it to obey the “rules-based international order.” Admonishing China, Blinken said:

“Each of these actions threaten the rules-based order that maintains global stability. That’s why they’re not merely internal matters and why we feel an obligation to raise these issues. The United States’ relationship with China will be competitive where it should be, collaborative where it can be, adversarial where it must be.”

But Yang would have none of it. Undoubtedly motivated by Biden’s earlier perception expressed in his Iowa statement about China’s weakness, he launched into his own attacks on U.S. human rights – with anti-American groups in the U.S., such as Black Lives Matter, providing him with plenty of ammunition. In a twenty minute tirade, Yang countered Blinken, calling the “so-called rules-based international order” he mentioned as the “United Nations-centered international system” and a tool of the U.S. He accused the U.S. of speaking to China in a condescending manner when it “does not have the qualification to say that it wants to speak to China from a position of strength.”

Yang continued his barrage adding, “The challenges facing the United States in human rights are deep-seated. They did not just emerge over the past four years, such as Black Lives Matter.” He lectured that, “We believe that it is important for the United States to change its own image and to stop advancing its own democracy in the rest of the world. Many people within the United States actually have little confidence in the democracy of the United States.

As the U.S. – China virtual summit takes place tonight, we should all feel sorry for the translators involved as they will have to make sense out of Biden’s anticipated ramblings. But it is clear that it will be China speaking from a position of strength to our position of weakness. While there is a challenging list of issues for discussion, Biden’s “America Last” policy will play directly into the hands of Xi’s “China First” policy, allowing the Chinese president to stick to his guns concerning Taiwan and not to take criticism about human rights abuses about Hong Kong or the Uyghurs.

Having shirked any responsibility for the Uyghurs, claiming the issue was not in his “lane,” climate czar John Kerry has signaled to Beijing that the Uyghurs may be ignored due to China’s agreement to some unimpressive climate control promises. Doubtful too is that Biden will press Xi for his obvious intentions in building mock-ups of U.S. aircraft carriers in the middle of the desert. Any suggestion coming out of the summit otherwise on these or other issues will undoubtedly be but another failed publicity stunt moment.

Never before in the U.S. – China relationship has China felt so empowered by such a weak U.S. president to pursue its ultimate goals. And it recognizes, should Biden be impeached or die in office, an even more inept Vice President Kamala Harris would come to office. For Xi, the stars are definitely in alignment to milk the relationship for all he can get now.
