Uncle Sam Bet on Russia’s Collapse and Is Losing Its Shirt

Let me start by expressing my heartfelt remorse for the suffering of the people of Turkey in the aftermath of the horrific earthquake. Losing homes and loved ones in the midst of winter is a genuine nightmare.
 
Thanks to former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett we now know that Washington and London sabotaged diplomatic efforts to end the Special Military Operation in Ukraine. The West made the stupid bet that Russia could be defeated through a combination of economic sanctions, propaganda and military aid for Ukraine. The Americans and their NATO partners bet the lives of Ukrainians on their imperialist dream and now are becoming more desperate trying to fend off the looming defeat that confronts Ukraine and, by extension, NATO.
 
The West has poked the Russian bear and are having great difficulty coming to grips with the reality that Russia is not impotent and Putin is not on his last legs. To the contrary, the failed Western strategy has awakened the Russians and cemented their resolve to defeat the NATO threat. Take a look at Putin’s recent remarks commemorating Russia’s victory at Stalingrad 80 years ago. It remains a fresh memory for the Russian people.

If you have not seen Doug MacGregor’s interview with Judge Napolitano I recommend you watch it. Doug’s analysis is first rate and sobering. He has a grasp on reality and provides a stark warning to America about its feckless effort to fuel the war in Ukraine.
 

 
Compare Doug’s analysis with the delusions of Matt Van Dyke, an American volunteer mercenary in Ukraine, who has embarked on a suicide mission and does not comprehend the impossible situation he is in. He is hoping for a miracle but reluctantly concedes that things are going badly for Ukraine. What I find amazing is that he genuinely believes things might turn around in the Spring once the German tanks show up. It is pathetic.
 

 
Van Dyke is not alone in his disconnect from reality. Victor Davis Hanson, a distinguished political scientist, just published an article that is a study in schizophrenia. Professor Hanson remains convinced that Putin is in trouble:

the war is heading toward a rendezvous with ever-deadlier weapons and staggering fatalities—even as we witness increasing nuclear threats from a weakened and adrift Vladimir Putin. They insist that Putin is merely saber-rattling. And he might be. Supposedly, in his diminished and discredited state, Putin would not dare to set off a tactical nuclear weapon (as if diminished and discredited leaders are not more likely to do so).

Davis Hanson clings desperately to the Western meme that Putin is weak and losing political support. That is a lie. The reality is just the opposite. Putin is winning and now realizes that American and NATO are keen on destroying Russia. As you can see for yourself in the video above, Putin’s resolve has grown stronger and the Russian people are behind him.
