Trump Doesn’t Make ANY PROFIT from G-7 or from Any Foreign Visitors

Loading

President Trump hopes to fete G-7 at his beautiful National Doral resort near Miami at cost. Whenever foreign visitors use his hotels, all profit goes back to the government. He, and his family who work in the White House, do not take any salaries. Those salaries also go back to the government.

So what is all the talk about the Emoluments Clause? More fake news!

The President mentioned hosting the G-7 at the Doral in August but the heads are really exploding now. It looks like the Syria scandal might be almost over, and they need a new scandal to fill the void.

Back in August, the Washington Post claimed that “the decision would be an unprecedented use of American power to create private revenue for the American President.” They added the decision would direct “massive amounts of money to a resort he owns personally.”

Now, they could have run this story by the White House to find out what the plan was for the money, but they chose not to.

If they had, they would have found out that everything will be offered at cost plus he gives all profits from foreigners at his hotels back to the federal government. The media has known about this since February of this year, yet, they persist in trying to hang him with an Emoluments Clause.

Emoluments only cover the conferring of titles or gifts.

To make matters more unfair, Trump has been sued by [far-left] good-government groups and others alleging he is violating the emoluments clauses of the Constitution by opening his door to such business.

Can Don take the financial hit of another 4 years? The President has lost over $1 billion dollars since assuming the presidency. I hate rich people lets re-elect him.

@kitt: Like all other Presidents, he should be able to make the losses up by publishing a few books and fees for speaking engagements… unless that suddenly becomes illegal.

Ignorant, stupid liberals (especially that “new” one that showed up touting emoluments as an impeachable offense for Trump) simply need to grow up, but until their leadership shows some maturity and stability, this is not likely.

Divesting all his for-profit properties to his children then those children giving all profits gained via world leaders using their facilities is not enough for rabid Dems.
As Scott Adams famously said, once the Dems get to the bottom of their list of “crimes” by Trump they either manufacture a new “crime” or go back to the top of the list.
They assume we all have amnesia, I guess.
Has any other president given his paycheck as president back to the gov’t?
(Well George Washington tried but Congress over-ruled him!)
President Trump has done this every time to very little media coverage…..

Trump’s 2018 first-quarter salary went to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Trump’s 2018 2nd-quarter salary went to the Department of Education.
Trump’s first-quarter 2017 pay went to National Park Service.
Other quarters his salary went to the Transportation Department and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Pres Trump was “forced” by law to take $1/year.

@Nan G:

Democrats don’t even understand how money is earned. They think it all gets earned through taxes; if you don’t TAKE money, it isn’t really earned.

The Democrats will do everything in their little black book of dirty tricks after all next year is a election year expect the democrats goon squads Antifa to harass voters

Just out of curiosity, since none of Trump’s tax returns or any other legitimate, unbiased accounting of his businesses are a matter of public record, how can anyone assert that he has lost a billion dollars, or even that he has relinquished control of his financial interests to anyone else not directly under his direction? Because he SAYS so? Can you really say that with a straight face?

Until real evidence sees the light of day, nothing is known. One would think that if Trump’s financial dealings were as “perfect” as his telephone conversations with Ukrainians, he might want them revealed to the public in the majesty of their perfection, thus proving him to be the unparalleled genius he says he is. I know that when I’m right, I can’t wait for that news to get out. But instead, Trump fights tooth and nail to prevent that exposure. A rational person would wonder why.

I think that the hysteria of the Trump presidency is wearing thin on the majority of the electorate, and while Democrats have been fanning the flames, Trump has been starting the fires. No matter how much or how little credit Trump deserves for the state of the union, I suspect that the electorate will send him packing in 2020. I just hope that the GOP manages to hold onto the Senate then, because if they do not, the Dems will do some real mischief.

@George Wells: All but the ignorant realize the returns requested for the fishing expeditions are for years PAST, not currently.

@Deplorable Me: They have cancelled the G7 arrangements the poor bastids will now most likely meet at Camp David.

@ Deplorable Me;

You all seem to be defending Trump’s financial dealings with zero evidence to back you up. Trump guards that evidence as if he has a LOT to hide. That was my point, if you missed it.

@George Wells: I neither condemn nor defend them. Unless there is evidence of some crime, they aren’t anyone’s business. It’s private, like anyone else’s.

@kitt:

The President has lost over $1 billion dollars since assuming the presidency.

And we know this how?

@Greg: According to Forbes magazine, President Donald Trump has lost $1.4 billion of his personal wealth while serving as our president. According to Forbes magazine, President Donald Trump has lost $1.4 billion of his personal wealth due to lost business opportunities and other reasons while serving as our president. Oct 4 2018
I dont think Forbes is a propaganda outlet but who knows

@kitt: Well, liberals just fantasize Trump is Satan and go from there. It’s why they appear so infantile to normal people.

,

Perhaps it is that Christians, having placed themselves in the habit of accepting unsubstantiated accounts with blind, “childlike” faith, do so as well for politicians. Equating Trump with Christ IN ANY SENSE is a fool’s gambit. Forbes magazine has no more reliable evidence than the rest of us. Dep. is right that that tax returns are past history, not present circumstance, but history has valuable lessons buried there-in, and Trump EVIDENTLY doesn’t want those lessons to ever see the light of day. Because those tax returns – for as much lying as may be contained in them – do provide a more explicit account of actual truth than the oftentimes foul-mouthed utterings of politicians, they have come in recent decades to be depended upon by voters for such just verification, and without them, NO ONE can say with anything but blind faith that Trump is NOT a crook.

@George Wells: In case you were wondering, we already think you are an idiot. Now, YOUR job would be to dispel that impression, not reinforce it.

@George Wells:
“Well, liberals just fantasize Trump is Satan and go from there. It’s why they appear so infantile to normal people.”

That’s an odd assessment, considering that “normal people” returned the House of Representatives to the Democrats in 2018, largely in answer to Trump’s misbehavior. Either “normal people” are so stupid that they can’t see what a savior Trump actually is, or he really IS Satan. I’m betting money that those same “normal people” will tell Trump “You’re Fired!” in 2020.

@Deplorable Me:

When you cannot refute an argument, attack the opponent.
Well done!

@George Wells: My response was to Greg and it referenced Forbes, I wasnt quoting anything christian or religious are you taking all your medications as directed?
I think Forbes has a good handle on estimating wealth and possible losses. The wild accusations of him gaining vast amounts of money are never backed up with any proof. Read the last line it says Who knows. The price of real estate changes.
The past two Democratic presidents made out like bandits accumulating post-presidential net worths of $40 million or more, which was about $40 million more than they were worth when they entered the White House.
Pardon my late response had to scoot to moms and diagnose a broken garage door. Cant get parts til tomorrow morning.

@kitt:
Sorry, no psychotropic drugs here.

My reference to religious BELIEFS rests on how partisans of BOTH persuasions accept their respective party’s dogma blindly (just like what religions ask of their adherents), a FAITH that in the political arena is never warranted. Politicians lie. It’s there JOB.

Forbes prides itself for the duty it has ASSUMED as it guesses rich folks worth – a cute schtick to be sure – but you surely must know that the rich USUALLY make every effort to hide their wealth sufficiently to avoid taxation, and if failing that, at least to keep that failure secret. Forbes has no better line on the truth than the rest of us, they just sell magazines by printing what is already available in the public record.

Don’t tell me that Trump is trying so hard to keep his tax returns secret out of respect for his own privacy or to strengthen the power of the executive branch, because we both know that if those returns made the Don look good, he’d be rubbing our faces in them. It is painfully obvious that he has something worth hiding, and the scent of that cancer keeps the hounds at his heals.

@George Wells: Still have the obsession of getting your nose into his taxes, thats funny. Did you care before 2016?
His total income for the pain in the ass job of President 1 dollar per year.
Again fool who knows, real estate prices change.
Heels not heals
Maybe you should look into those drugs, a bit of CBD oil under the tongue to calm you.

@kitt:
No, I’m not the one obsessing over Trump’s taxes. It was y’all making claims about Trump’s finances and profits that caused me to ask the question: “How do you know?” Without even a tax return to see what Trump actually OFFICIALLY claims – notice I don’t suggest that what he claims on his 1040 is really the truth – y’all are just taking what he tweets on blind faith. That is an easy enough point that anyone can see it, but you and yours have to resort to calling me an idiot and suggest I take psychotropic drugs to deflect from the fact that you have no good answer to my question about your blind faith in your self-professed stable genius. Who is the fool?

@George Wells:

That’s an odd assessment, considering that “normal people” returned the House of Representatives to the Democrats in 2018, largely in answer to Trump’s misbehavior.

First, who says they are “normal”? Look at what they apparently support: impeachment theater based on fabricated accusations. Second, the party that wins the White House often loses the House following the Presidential election; it’s not like the House flipping was some earth-shattering bombshell. Obama lost seats in the House in 2010 and then the entire House in 2012. So, there’s that.

The question is, did anyone benefit from Democrats winning the House? Well… nope. They are frustrated little children throwing a tantrum.

When you cannot refute an argument, attack the opponent.
Well done!

WHAT argument?

Don’t tell me that Trump is trying so hard to keep his tax returns secret out of respect for his own privacy or to strengthen the power of the executive branch, because we both know that if those returns made the Don look good, he’d be rubbing our faces in them.

That’s funny, because the two returns already leaked makes him look good, if not “not bad”. They revealed Trump pays taxes while he takes deductions… just like anyone else. So, indeed, he is maintaining his privacy, and protecting that of everyone else, for the sake of preventing fishing expeditions, which are a violation of the 4th Amendment.

Without even a tax return to see what Trump actually OFFICIALLY claims – notice I don’t suggest that what he claims on his 1040 is really the truth – y’all are just taking what he tweets on blind faith.

Neither does the IRS. He is audited every year. Any evidence of him being prosecuted for tax evasion or tax fraud? Certainly not like Ilhan Omar, who has committed tax fraud AND immigration fraud, yet you nor any other liberal seems too interested. Yes, you obsess about Trump’s taxes because you fantasize that there just might be that silver bullet in there that will help Democrats avoid facing him in another election with another inept, socialist moron candidate.

@Deplorable Me:

First, who says they are “normal”?

Well, I was referring to the same “normal” people you referred to in #13, “Normal” meaning the largest group in a population, which coincidentally is the same group that voted in the House Dems = the largest group of voters. That MAKES them statistically “normal.” Look up the definition of the word.

And you are dead wrong about what I want regarding impeachment. I hope Trump DOESN’T get removed from office by the Senate, and I’m SURE that he won’t. He MIGHT get impeached by the house, but the votes are not there yet, and since the Senate is controlled by the GOP, connect the dots. My prediction was that the VOTERS will fire him in 2020. That’s it. You believe otherwise? Then why?

@George Wells: Admit it George I provided a quote from Forbes, not a christian magazine, and you dragged your vile hatred of both Trump and Christians out an flopped them down. It is not normal George, not at all , you do need a checkup from the neck up.
Not good enough you also do the same thing you accused Deplorable of in reference to Forbes mag May I quote:

When you cannot refute an argument, attack the opponent.

Well done!

The dignitaries could have stayed in a very beautiful resort impressed by the USA hospitality. The resort closed for the time of the summit and simply paid for operating costs. but noooooo Jealous assholes flip out start screaming at the sky and ruin it for everyone not knowing any details or plans, so Trump rather than waste his kids time and effort, pulled the resort from the summit, are you happy noooooooooo your sick obsession with Trump and hate hate boils over to those that voted for him. You will really flip over the data from his last rally 21% were registered democrats, 12 % were latinos, Attendence over 50 thousand. Everyone had a good time.

@George Wells: The “normal” that turned the House are illegal immigrants, corpses, voter fraud and vote harvesting. You are correct, in that that is the new normal for Democrats.

My prediction was that the VOTERS will fire him in 2020. That’s it. You believe otherwise? Then why?

Yeah, I think otherwise. Given a fair and fraud-free election, the people who can see that Trump has restored the economy, benefited the middle class, is fighting unfair trade practices by foreign trading partners, ended the stupid Iranian nuclear deal and is fighting hard (against Democrat opposition) to secure the border and protect Americans, Trump will be reelected. If the Democrats do what appears to be the course they are on and select an avowed socialist, this helps Trump even more.

More and more people are seeing through the corrupt media and their hold on the open American mind is weakening. The media providing propaganda for the Democrats is the only ace in the hole Democrats have and Trump has discovered how to counter it: IGNORE it.

@kitt: I can remember Biden charging the Secret Service rent to stay in a house he owned… to protect HIM. I don’t, however, remember any Democrat outrage over “emoluments”.

@Deplorable Me: Sure all the union workers in America are going to vote their long fought over benefits away for higher taxes and shitty government healthcare, yuppers they will line up for that. Then if they say…make gasoline powered cars, or drive trucks, or work in a coal mine they will vote for that green deal crap. Yuppers that is going to happen. The lower paid people will vote for open borders worker replacement uhhuh.
They count on suburban women who depend on their cars to get to work and run the kids to soccer practice see the one that couldnt get a job 5 years ago move out and she gets her long desired craft room she is going to vote for their job killing policies. Yup.
They are truly depending on the voters that cant see the future as socialist policies are enacted. Working not til April for the Government but October or November. What a deal! Why would we vote for Trump?
Is George under the impression that tax returns have net worth in them? He should look at his own tax returns and point out that figure to himself.
Losses are only available for tax reduction when you sell an asset.

@kitt: The real question is, WHEN will these people realize what you wrote will happen when they elect one of these socialists? Those who support the left have convinced themselves, not that it won’t happen, but that it won’t happen to THEM.

Warren is being forced to drop the big one on them. If she represents her “plan” for Medicare for all accurately, the middle class is going to see how THEY, not the “1%” are going to carry the gigantic burden of socialism.
