Trump and Pro-Athletes Spar Over Flag, National Anthem, White House Visit; Lefties Scream Racism

Loading

Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion:

Twitter has been afire today with the controversy about Stephen Curry going to the White House and reactions to President Trump’s speech in Alabama.

During President Trump’s speech at a rally for Luther Strange (R-AL), he addressed the growing trend among NFL players to kneel disrespectfully during the national anthem.  Trump asked, ““Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say ‘get that son of a b***h off the field right now – he’s fired’?”.

Most people hearing or reading this comment recognize that the president is referring to the disrespectful kneeling “protest” that involves football (and other sports) players deliberately taking a knee during the national anthem.

The Warriors’ Stephen Curry hesitated when asked about whether he would attend the White House celebration, and Trump responded by rescinding the invitation to Curry.

The left, as always, hears RAAACISM not patriotism in the president’s comments.  They are subsequently completely unhinged in their response to their own fevered and deliberate misinterpretation of Trump’s comments.

Then-49er Colin Kaepernick who started this disturbing trend in response to the short-lived Black Lives Matter explained his rationale last year to NFL Media.

NFL reports:

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

The resulting controversy was explosive, and Kaepernick has had trouble finding a new team since leaving the 49ers.

Since then, more and more players have started kneeling for the anthem, including at least one white player.

The president’s comments, reflective of a lot of Americans’ thoughts on the issue, were received as racist apparently because the majority of NFL players who take a knee during the anthem are black or brown.  Therefore, according to leftist logic, any criticism of these players’ actions is not about the players’ actions at all; it has to be—can only be—about their race.

The NFL issued the following statement:

Just so we are all clear: it is not disrespectful or divisive to take a knee during the national anthem, but it is disrespectful and divisive to speak out against it.

Ah yes, because Trump never attacks white people. Or something.

https://twitter.com/Chet_Cannon/status/911645285050458114

Washington Redskins’ linebacker Zach Brown makes a potentially arguable point, that football has nothing to do with the President.

For the point to stand, however, it has to work both ways.  Football is no place for political protests, either.

@Randy: Sometimes, don’t you kind of feel sorry for whiny, sore-loser liberals who don’t know to keep their mouths shut and cut their losses? Imagine Obama, with practically 100% sycophantic praise, support and protection from exposure of his scandals having the same approval at about the same time in his term as Trump, who gets 93% negative coverage, constantly attacked and the corrupt liberal media’s full support and exposure of any and every phony, contrived scandal they can invent? Now, who do you think the general public thinks is doing the better job? If there was such a thing in America as an unbiased 4th estate that investigated scandals, exposed lies and reported the facts, Obama (who would have probably never been elected anyway) would be at about 15% and Trump at 80%.

If more liberals would think a little bit, there would be a lot fewer liberals.

@Deplorable Me: they need something to think with!

@Randy: Maybe you and Bill Burriss can do a stand-up comedy routine or sitcom if you add Nan and RT—Roseanne’s slot is available.

Let’s see what Mueller’s actually got. DT’S doing his best to discredit this Marine war hero—would love to see the reaction if Trump fires him.

@Deplorable Me, #215:

Imagine Obama, with practically 100% sycophantic praise…

Why are Trump and his cult followers so obsessed with their efforts to destroy the reputation and popularity of a past president?

It speaks volumes when the mere possibility of an unfavorable comparison bothers them so much.

@Greg:

Why are Trump and his cult followers so obsessed with their efforts to destroy the reputation and popularity of a past president?

What makes it appear as an obsession? I just feel these “approval polls” need some context. Would you agree that 93% negative media coverage, much of it false and salacious, would affect the perception of a person’s performance? Now, an obsession is the media speculating that the First Lady, recovering from surgery, is actually in hiding due to being beaten by Trump or cooperating with Mueller. You people are pretty sick.

Meanwhile, what we continue to find out about the Obama administration, since Hillary was defeated and all of the evidence wasn’t destroyed, he did a pretty good job of destroying his own reputation.

$2.5 billion in solar projects canceled or frozen after Trump solar panel tariffs: report

Yeah, but alternative energy is an Obama thing.

Trump Orders a Lifeline for Struggling Coal and Nuclear Plants

President Trump has ordered Energy Secretary Rick Perry to “prepare immediate steps” to stop the closing of unprofitable coal and nuclear plants around the country, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the White House press secretary, said on Friday.

Maybe we could subsidize them by slapping special taxes on solar panels and wind turbines.

Now, an obsession is the media speculating that the First Lady, recovering from surgery, is actually in hiding due to being beaten by Trump or cooperating with Mueller. You people are pretty sick.

You people? Such articles target don’t target an audience that’s defined by any particular political orientation. Nor are they mainstream news offerings. Surely you realize that.

@Greg:

$2.5 billion in solar projects canceled or frozen after Trump solar panel tariffs: report

“Reuters reported that Trump’s tariffs have boosted domestic manufacturing of solar panels, which it said could over time reduce prices for panels.

Two manufacturers, First Solar and JinkoSolar, have, for example, announced an $800 million investment to increase panel construction in the U.S. that they say could lead to 700 new jobs in Ohio and Florida. ”

Trump Orders a Lifeline for Struggling Coal and Nuclear Plants

Obama had imposed extensive and punitive regulations upon the coal industry with the intention to destroy them and run them out of business. Now, to restore our sources of cheap energy, repairs must be made. Just another ongoing expense incurred due to the mistake of making Obama President.

@Richard Wheeler: you have already discredited yourself by you behavior. Noone else needs to do anything else. You made your own bed.

@Randy: Laughable—-I’ve brought credit to myself through service to my country during wartime —awarded Navy Commendation Medal with combat “V’ for valor—continue to support my Marines throughout my lifetime.
You support a divisive,lying, womanizing, egomaniacal bully who refused to serve.
If anyone has brought disservice on themselves it would be you Col.

I’m still displaying my Webb 2016 bumper sticker and hope he goes against DT in 2020 Think he’d clean his clock.

Semper Fi RJW Capt. USMCR

@Greg:

You people? Such articles target don’t target an audience that’s defined by any particular political orientation.

Well, actually it does. It targets the hateful, crybaby, sore-loser bitter audience that OBSESSES about anything they can possibly get their spiteful hands on that is negative to Trump. Now, I admit that seeing Melania is much more pleasant than the horse-mouth, perpetually scowling, race-baiting Michelle, but the vile direction your speculations (“your” being applied because it’s YOUR media) definitely indicates an obsession, and not a healthy one at that.

@Richard Wheeler: my comments are about your current behavior. You sure soiled any honor you once had. Maybe we can chalk it up to dementia. If not, you sure have strayed from an honorable Marine to a person far from honorable as evidenced by your behavior. Go back and look at all of your posts and see how much you have deviated . If you lookany others have commented on your lack of honor.

@Randy: Dementia? I know nothing of it
Seems you were born in the 40’s. Do you suffer from dementia Randy? Is it a condition you’re familiar with?
You think it might contribute to DT’S bizarre early morning tweets? Something is not right about this guy—maybe you’ve hit on the reason
Why do I lack honor? Is it because I stand with the majority of Americans who find fault with this President?.

When Conservatives I respect like Word, Aye Chi, Aqua or Brother Bob question my honor I’ll lend credence to your assertion—meantime you’re blowing smoke.

@rich wheeler: Actually, Rich I am in the medical field. Your lost your honor by supporting organizations the threaten the health and stability of this country. Many people her have pointed that out to you, but you are so wrapped up in your ideology you can not see it or you make a deliberate choice. Look over you posts for the last year and list all of those organizations and the positions you take..

@Randy: ‘Threaten the health and stability of the country’—-your opinion–not mine
I consider this tweeter in chief to be unstable and a true threat to this country I’ve served and love as much as you.
I mentioned the Conservatives on here that I RESPECT==I imagine you do to. They call me out I’ll listen—-Trumpists like RT, Bill Burriss and yourself–.no thanks.

The radical right represented here–you know who I mean–truly crazed.

Scott Pruitt appointed head of EPA—He basically wants to dismantle it-spending money on personal perks-Trump appoints Giulliani as his attorney–habitual liar ask Melania.
Trump showing very poor judgement with MANY of his appointments.

@rich wheeler: I am not talking about the President. I am talking about your support of ANTIFA and other radical groups. You support anything that is anti Trump without considering the consequences to our country and constitution. That is a violation of the oath you took and you deserve the disdain of real Marines who abide by the oaths they took throughout their lives.

@rich wheeler: Rich, go back and look at the organizations and personnel you support who are trying to destroy our country and our constitution. You vowed to defend against all enemies foreign and domestic. Yet, you support these enemies in at least your words. I have alerted you when you did that, but you just bluster and continue. That is why you have lost the respect of real Marines.

@Randy: You and AV keep mentioning Antifa–other than Fox and FA never heard of them and still don’t—I do not support them
What organizations or people do I support that are anti-American?—that is a ridiculous statement Randy.
You keep up with the “real Marines” meme—lol– at least you capitalize Marines.

NFL players kneeling has apparently led POTUS to ask players to make recommendations on pardons.

What’s your opinion of DT appointee Scott Pruitt?

@Randy: You are having a discussion with a guy that claims to have never heard of ANTIFA, yet claims to make educated decisions about candidates (such as fauna public defenders). Yeah, ANTIFA attacking Trump rallies, conservatives on college campuses and beating people with bicycle locks was kept on the down-low… by the liberal propaganda outlets.

Then the guy who dodges and evades simple questions expects you to answer his. You’ve more tolerance for fools than I have.

@Deplorable Me: part of my community out reach for those less fortunate souls.

@Richard Wheeler: 242

Eagles had approx. 10 players and the coach who wanted to attend. DT felt disrespected and cancelled on those who wanted to come.

I’m quite sure it’s your reading comprehension that has held you back all these years. I now realize that you don’t quite comprehend what I mean when I say you should be asking for your tuition refund, and I’m sorry I can’t write you an explanation, as I’m sure it would go right over your head. But, hey, I’m a good guy so I’ll keep trying. As you well know it started out that 70 accepted, then it went to 10, then it went to 3 and the mascot in costume. So the players clearly cancelled the appearance. I’m sure you won’t get this,, and it will be obvious in your response. Sorry.

@Greg:

Estimates of the cost of Trump’s military parade run from ten million to thirty million dollars

So? estimates of the cost for Hillary to sell out the country was a little over a hundred million, so 30 would be a drop in the bucket.

@Richard Wheeler: from 244: Rich:

My own thoughts began to stray and eventually touched down on my recollections of a baseball player from yesteryear named Rick Monday.
Rick Monday was in center field for the Chicago Cubs back on April 25, 1976, when two men emerged from the stands and walked out on to the outfield grass with an American flag…and a can of lighter fluid and a pack of matches.
While Dodger Stadium watched in horror, ex-Marine Monday sprinted from his position and snatched the flag away just before the protesters were able to put flame to it.

Back in 1976, Monday said, “I’ve visited too many V.A. hospitals and seen too many kids who were mangled trying to protect what it stands for.”
Forty years later, he noted, “What I knew was what they were doing was wrong then, and it’s wrong today. I had a lot of friends who lost their lives protecting the rights and freedoms that flag represented[.] … Maybe I was thinking about the drill instructors from boot camp. I didn’t want any of them saying, ‘Marine, why did you stand by and watch those guys that American flag?’”
Where have you gone, Rick Monday? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you…

Rich, you ‘semper fi’, as if it means something to you, so I’ll accept that it does. So why do you find it so easy to defend the punks in the NFL and NBA that disrespect the very flag that any true ‘semper fi’ advocate should abhor? Rick Monday did what a ‘real’ Marine would have done. What would you have done? Take a knee?

Bill Burriss I’ve heard of Antifa –do not support. You can’t seem to figure out Clifton Roberts lol. I’ve answered all your questions and Randy’s questions when asked—though some seem pretty foolish. You have both avoided many of mine.
RT lives in his own fantasy world—we’ve had a few laughs.
As mentioned, the quality of Conservative commentary has declined dramatically since I first arrived Mata, Aye Chi, Aqua, even Word all but gone. Too bad.

@Richard Wheeler: 253, so now you’ve got Mueller as a Marine war hero. Would you list one ‘heroic’ war act of his? Just one.

@Redteam: Randy already posted the Monday story–a great one.
The players protest is about their perceived social injustice and police brutality.
I don’t believe they are protesting the flag. I believe in The Constitution and First Amendment Rights–don’t you? Many protests I disagree with but if non violent believe they are Constitutionally protected. Trump now says he wants to talk with them regarding selected pardons–interesting. Seems to be Trump now understands reason for players protest–kudos to him.

BTW Your take on evolution—-think you are saying those who left equatorial life for cooler climes and had lighter skin were superior in intellect to the dark skin people who remained–pls clarify.if not your point.
There must have been lizard people as well—what else could account for Giulliani?

Mueller Bronze Star recipient for Valor in combat in V.N—common knowledge

@Greg:

Maybe we could subsidize them by slapping special taxes on solar panels and wind turbines.

That’s not a bad idea. Since the only reason we have solar panels and wind turbines are huge subsidies from the US taxpayers. No wind turbine has ever generated enough electricity to pay for the cost of the turbine. Coal plants and nuke plants do not get subsidies and have sustained themselves over the years. But then I wouldn’t really expect you to know that.

@Deplorable Me:

Well, actually it does. It targets the hateful, crybaby, sore-loser bitter audience that OBSESSES about anything they can possibly get their spiteful hands on that is negative to Trump.

You’re always making such insulting comments. Actually, “the hateful, crybaby, sore-loser bitter audience that OBSESSES about anything they can possibly get their spiteful hands on” is an accurate description of Trump’s low-IQ, low-education base. Everyone who isn’t one of them has observed this. Elevating a jackass like Trump and glorying in his infantile tantrums and ignorant pronouncements gives them all the illusion that they’re grown-ups.

This clown you’ve elected—with the help of Vladimir Putin—should have been left to bully his unfortunate private sector employees, to harass beauty pageant contestants in their dressing rooms, and to entertain marginally literate tabloid newspaper readers with his absurdly pretentious behavior on a reality television program. The man is an offense and embarrassment to the nation—not to mention a danger.

@rich wheeler:

Mata, Aye Chi, Aqua, even Word all but gone. Too bad.

You don’t really think all of those are conservative, do you? I don’t even claim to be ‘conservative’ I only claim to be an American, something most on the liberal, progressive, Dimocrat sides can’t say. I am certainly more conservative than those that support the flag hating football Anti Americans. And I don’t ;think the MS 13 are the good guys, as the dims do.

@Greg: 254

Why are Trump and his cult followers so obsessed with their efforts to destroy the reputation and popularity of a past president?

you would like a Muslim anti-American person. Popularity, LOL, only for the anti-Americans.

@Redteam, #277:

Since the only reason we have solar panels and wind turbines are huge subsidies from the US taxpayers.

Renewable, sustainable energy technology has become one of the most rapidly growing sectors of the U.S. economy. Subsidies were provided to kick-start that development and to stimulate a failing economy. Both objectives were met. We’ve now had 90 consecutive months of job growth and steady economic expansion, while the renewable energy sector has expanded enormously.

The renewable energy sector now provides jobs to over 775,000 American workers. Compare that with the American coal industry, which employs only around 160,000 workers.

Trump doesn’t tell you that, does he? He’s too busy taking credit for things that he didn’t do.

New renewable energy capacity double fossil fuel growth in record-breaking 2017: UN report

@Greg: 257

Nor are they mainstream news offerings.

I find it strange that you don’t consider MSNBC, NBC, CBS, CNN as mainstream news. I don’t either. I rate it as communist propaganda.

@Greg:

Subsidies were provided to kick-start that development and to stimulate a failing economy.

you mean a failing ‘renewable energy’ business, right? Give me the numbers on solar panel initial cost, maintenance costs and replacement costs (panels only last about 4 years before the efficiency is to low to keep on line any longer) Just google ‘solar panel cost’ and ‘wind turbine costs’ and you will get your eyes opened. Can you approximate the amount of electricity produced by a solar panel from 9 pm til 6 am? how about how much a wind turbine produces when the wind is not blowing. Would you be agreeable with only having those two sources of electricity for your home? I will be so bold as to say that your answer to that would be a big ‘hell no’.

@rich wheeler:

Mueller Bronze Star recipient for Valor in combat in V.N—common knowledg

I didn’t ask what medal he had, I asked what heroic act did he perform. Most military medals are awarded, not earned.

@rich wheeler:

What organizations or people do I support that are anti-American?

Just to name one: the NFL.

@Greg:

You’re always making such insulting comments. Actually, “the hateful, crybaby, sore-loser bitter audience that OBSESSES about anything they can possibly get their spiteful hands on” is an accurate description of Trump’s low-IQ, low-education base.

Hmm… well, it wasn’t Trump’s base that was wearing pussy hats and screaming at the sky for impeachment before Trump was ever sworn in, was it? I hasn’t been Trump’s base that have been making up stories that they merely wish were true. It hasn’t been the Trump base that have openly suggested and cheered on the idea of assassinating a sitting, duly elected President.

No, no, no, Greg, the vile, hateful sore-loser driven whiny crybaby trash has all emanated from the elite, well-educated, tolerant left. That also happens to be the origin of Occupy Wall Street and ANTIFA, both violent, fascist organizations.

This clown you’ve elected—with the help of Vladimir Putin

See… you can’t control yourselves and keep from lying on a constant basis. Even though there was never anything to even suggest a suspicion, the ONE thing that has been proven beyond any REASONABLE doubt (but not yours) is that there was NO collusion between Trump and Russia and that the meddling in the election helped no one; it only gave liberals an excuse to whine more loudly. If this was something that actually concerns you (it isn’t) you would take your ire out on Obama for, per his usual course of action, FAILED to take any steps to prevent it (which you won’t). The election was rigged fully in Hillary’s favor, spies were in place, the surveillance was collecting the details, the Russian provided (at market value) lies were spread, so Obama didn’t think interfering with Russian interference was necessary. And Hillary STILL LOST!!! Once again, Obama fails… miserably and they may all go to jail due to that failure.

@Richard Wheeler:

RW, how many men in your company got that same medal?

June 8, 2018 — Mueller files new charges against Manafort, associate

Special Counsel Robert Mueller filed new charges against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and an associate on Friday, accusing them of obstructing justice in the investigation into Russian meddling and potential collusion with Trump campaign associates in 2016.

The latest indictment against Manafort adds an associate, Konstantin Kilimnik, 48, of Moscow. Both were charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice and obstruction of justice, according to federal court filings.

Obstruction of justice… Who ever would have expected that?

Trump should probably hold off on any pardons until all of the charges are in. If he doesn’t, he might miss a few.

@Greg: There It Is—-perfect description of the Trumpeteers. Did you read RT’S theory of evolution–classic

@Greg: 281

The renewable energy sector now provides jobs to over 775,000 American workers. Compare that with the American coal industry, which employs only around 160,000 workers

Hmmm, lets see what your numbers mean. Coal industry, 160,000 workers, produces 30% of electricity generated in the US Solar panel industry, 775,000 workers produces 1.3% of the energy in the US. Let’s see, this is going to be a really tough decision. Hmmm and that 1.3% is only available if the sun is shining. That would be lovely to take an overnight trip in a solar powered car. So which do you want to pay the labor charges for Greg, the 775000 or the 160000, realizing what you are getting for your money. So that’s why Obozo gave us a 20 Trillion debt. Of course you do realize the consumers are paying the wages of the coal miners while the US taxpayers are paying the wages of the solar panel makers. Go out an supply more solar panels……

@Greg:Put that along side the Russian ham sandwiches he has indicted. You think he did a better job putting this new feather in in cap than he did the Russian indictments, which blew up in his face?

@rich wheeler:

Did you read RT’S theory of evolution–classic

So you had several questions of me about that but someone have already come up with all the answers? What was the answer you came up with on the questions you had? Tell me which part of my theory of evolution do you disagree with?

@rich wheeler:

Randy already posted the Monday story–a great one.

I know, that’s why I put it in a ‘quotation’. Mama taught me that, I didn’t need an Ivy league school for that.

@Redteam: Mueller citation reads personally led squad across fire swept terrain to recover mortally wounded Marine He also had a Purple Heart.
Bronze Star below Navy Cross and MOH—Earned only in combat by very few-maybe I/100.

I don’t support the NFL Handled it foolishly’ Trump now listening to players a good thing.

How bout answering my question re your evolution theory #292?? Do you agree or disagree with my interpretation of your statement–just askin

RW, before you go too far with your ‘medals’ thing. Look at the medals on McCain’s chest before he was shot down, vs the medals after he was released from the Hanoi Hilton. What do you think those medals were for? Singing?

@Randy: 228 I enjoy the exchanges in a lot of cases. RW, shows some instances of enlightenment, but some such as Greg and HoJay, there is no hope, If either of them ever had any sense, it surely slipped away from them. I’ll still respond to them because there is nothing more fun than exposing the ‘truly enlightened liberals’. In RW’s case, once he gets his tuition refund for not getting an adequate education, especially in reading comprehension, if he then gets remedial courses, he still might have a future. :One caveat, he will have to move to a different state. There is no hope if he remains where he is.

@Randy: 239 Randy, wouldn’t you say that if the ‘team’ accepted, with over 70 scheduled to attend, then reduced the number to 10, then reduced the number to 3 including the costumed mascot, on condition that he schedule it when the N. Korean conference was scheduled, wouldn’t you say that the Iggles canceled the event. Notifying that the event had been canceled was not a withdrawal of the invitation, it was just an acknowledgement of their decision to not attend.

@rich wheeler: 265

Trump showing very poor judgement with MANY of his appointments.

LOL, but you had no problem with Obozo appointing HRC or Lurch Kerry or Valerie Jarrett or Eric Holder, etc, etc. All fine upstanding Americans: right?

@rich wheeler:

BTW Your take on evolution—-think you are saying those who left equatorial life for cooler climes and had lighter skin were superior in intellect to the dark skin people who remained–pls clarify.if not your point.
There must have been lizard people as well—what else could account for Giulliani?

Nope, you read something into it that I didn’t say. I only said that the people that went to different areas developed differences in several ways. In colors, abilities, intelligence, etc. Surely some are still near their ancestors that swung from the trees while others have developed in those ways and others. I don’t think intelligence is related to race, but I do think some races test highers in some testing. But moving further away from Africa is not related to intelligence. people near the North pole are certainly not some of the smartest persons in the world. I think the environment of the persons you are around likely influence intelligence most. An extreme example of that might be: if you only encountered true genius’s every day, no one with an IQ under 180 or so, I suspect after some time of that, you would appear/and test/ more intelligent than if you only were in the presence of true Morons every day. Someone that just wanted to be argumentative might disagree with that, but intelligent people would not.

AMENDMENT: If someone only spent time with true genius’s every day, they might never develop any common sense, so I’m not saying that’s a good thing. If they are never around stupid people, they might never recognize it.

@Redteam: I know you don’t believe half the stuff you post—done for effect– I get it—most on here take themselves much too seriously—your comedic relief is much appreciated.
Your Mama/teacher did a fine job teaching you not to take life or yourself too seriously.
What do you think of Oberon as a head coach
