As David illustrates, it took about a nanosecond after the shooting-spree targeting congressional Republicans for slaughter for the Left to roll into its anti-gun riff. Rep. Mo Brooks capped off his demonstration of personal valor with a flawless, spirited defense of the Second Amendment and the gun regulationsa that already exist in law. Bravo … and prayers for Rep. Steve Scalise for a speedy recovery, and for his family and the others who’ve been injured and traumatized.
At Powerline, Paul Mirengoff adds to his observation about the Left’s “stronger gun laws” response what he sees as the similar inevitability that “conservatives will blame overheated anti-Republican rhetoric.” I’m sure that’s true of some conservatives, but I doubt it’s true of most.
To put a finer point on it, what is blameworthy is the failure of government, academia and the media both to condemn the appalling notion of violent suppression as acceptable political expression, and to take enforcement and punitive action against instances of it. That is the problem here.
Of course conservatives don’t like obnoxious and fiery expression directed at us. But we do not seek to ban such speech as long as it remains on the right side of the line between argument and incitement, a line the First Amendment has always recognized. But if we are to have ordered liberty – a free society reliant on the rule of law – then the laws have to be enforced.

(There was a “my Muslim faith…..you mean Christian…” there as the gov said falsely that 93 MILLION Americans get shot to death Every Day.)
BUT, had the shooter lived that same gov would grant him the vote, right from his prison cell!

Bernie says Trump is the most dangerous President in history, then he “condemns in strongest possible terms” the violence committed by one of his sycophants that takes his stupid rhetoric seriously and attacks Republicans with a rifle. Democrats routinely shriek that Republicans are killing children and the elderly. If one BELIEVED such lies, who WOULDN’T be considered a hero and savior if they could put an end to such a threat?
Liberals, by and large, don’t actually believe their own rhetoric. They are merely trying to frighten their dim-witted constituents into voting more and more power to them, so they can then usurp more of our freedoms. They don’t, however, consider the fools they rely on taking their rhetoric seriously and deciding to save children and elderly by killing Republicans.
Hodgekinson is probably a nut; it takes a certain amount of wit dimness to support the things he has supported (including Bernie), sane or not. But he was the PERFECT CANDIDATE to be the sacrificial idiot to kill some Republicans. The left doesn’t care, because this can be used (they assume) to continue the call for more gun control, something that would NOT have hindered this useful idiot.
Either the left condemns and stops their promotion of such violence or they make it clear this is EXACTLY how they want their political opposition to proceed.

“My colleague, Senator John McCain, issued a very strong statement after the shooting in which he condemned the perpetrator of the attack. I commend him for that. But I believe Senator McCain and other Arizona Republicans need to do more,” Sanders said. “As the elder statesman of Arizona politics McCain needs to stand up and denounce the increasingly violent rhetoric coming from the right-wing and exert his influence to create a civil political environment in his state.”

“Congresswoman Giffords publicly expressed concerns when Sarah Palin, on her website, placed her district in the cross-hairs of a rifle—and identified her by name below the image—as an encouragement to Palin supporters to eliminate her from Congress,” the Vermont senator wrote.
Sanders was hardly alone in blaming Palin at the time; the New York Times, the Atlantic, the New York Daily News, and Gawker all pointed to the map with the crosshairs.
Bernie Sanders is a hypocrite.
Reaction from the left was easily predictable. The dems shed crocodile tears and used it to push gun control to hide their role. The MSM downplayed it and then had another one of their “sources” come out and say that Mueller was looking into obstruction of justice by Trump in order to divert attention away from themselves and the incident. The rank and file lefties took to social media making such claims like he didn’t shoot enough Republicans, he did a good job, and that he should have saved himself for Trump.
The left is rapidly showing the rest of us that peaceful coexistence with them is wishful thinking.
