This Covington Video Shows What Really Happened That Morning

Loading

This morningĀ Ed wrote aboutĀ the preparation for possible legal action being taken by a lawyer working for the family of Nick Sandmann, the student who became a left-wing punching bag after a misleading video of his encounter with Nathan Phillips circulated online two weeks ago. In addition to the letters sent out to 54 organizations and individuals, another attorney working with the family released a video over the weekend offering a coherent look at what actually happened that day. The videoā€™s caption reads:

2 weeks ago, the mainstream media, politicians, church officials, commentators, & celebrities rushed to judgment to wrongfully condemn, threaten, disparage & vilify Nick Sandmann based solely on a few seconds of an out-of-context video clip. It only takes 15 minutes to learn the truth. Here it is.

Most of the information in the video has already been brought out byĀ other observersĀ who took a fair look at what happened that day, but this clip really puts it together in a way that becomes undeniable. It was the Black Hebrew Israelites who were initiating the racist shouting at the Covington Kids and the kids put up with it without responding in kind.

Perhaps what is most striking about this is hearing Nathan Phillips own words about what he saw and heard that day even as the video shows his description is not remotely accurate. He describes the kids as animals who were snarling and ready to attack the Black Hebrew Israelites. But the video shows most of them are smiling.

As Ed pointed out earlier, itā€™s pretty unlikely any of the news organizations who piled on Sandmann and his classmates will wind up on trial. At worst, some of them might agree to settlements over their sloppy work. But if thereā€™s one person who deserves to be held responsible for misleading people about what happened itā€™s Nathan Phillips.Ā Especially telling is a moment when the kids, including Sandmann, walked away to their bus, Phillips and his group held a little celebration on the spot, cheering that they had won the encounter with the high school kids.

I’m not usually a big fan of litigation, but I hope this lawsuit is a resounding success and they all, especially the brain-dead, totally uninterested in facts liberal “celebrities” pay till it hurts. Bad behavior continues unabated unless and until it is punished. In addition, the way the big, grown up media bullied some young kids who did nothing but behave like human beings in the face of leftist thugs demands harsh retribution.

I believe all of these people have already had more than their allotted “15 minutes of fame”.

@Greg: True. Now they can fork over a few hundred million dollars.

@Greg: Not until you admit your media intentionally lied to you, as you were the one who originally posted it here and convicted the kid of a face crime. Was it WaPo or Buzzeed that edited the video to make the kids look at fault, and headlined it for Gregs emotional knee jerk reaction to hate on these kids.

Your memory is a bit faulty. This was my initial comment on the story. If you click on the link I included in that post, you’ll discover that it leads to a CNN article titled Teen in confrontation with Native American elder says he was trying to defuse the situation. It makes it clear that there were two versions of what happened.

I still don’t think parents ought to be sticking Trump hats on their kids heads and taking them to political demonstrations.

“I was not intentionally making faces at the protester. I did smile at one point because I wanted him to know that I was not going to become angry, intimidated or be provoked into a larger confrontation. I am a faithful Christian and practicing Catholic, and I always try to live up to the ideals my faith teaches me — to remain respectful of others, and to take no action that would lead to conflict or violence.”

Yeah, right. Try standing and staring fixedly at some angry adult back home in Kentucky with that expression on your face and see what happens. Like I said, their parents had no business putting Trump hats on their kids heads and taking them to a demonstration.

@Greg: How do you know their parents had them wear the hats? Based on the behavior of those kids at the Capital, I would say they are very intelligent and quite capable of forming their own points of view.

I’ve never heard you complain about liberal parents using their very young children as props in protests, but then again, that would require some sort of consistent point of view.

Yeah, right. Try standing and staring fixedly at some angry adult back home in Kentucky with that expression on your face and see what happens.

He was approached… charged… by Phillips. What was he supposed to do; smack that stupid tom-tom out of his stupid, liberal hand? Again, you blame the victim.

Like I said, their parents had no business putting Trump hats on their kids heads and taking them to a demonstration.

Trump happens to be the President of the United States. Just because that fact causes some sore loser crybabies that are too immature to control their infantile emotions doesn’t compel others to shrink back in fear of “offending” them. If some people cannot respect the opinions of others, perhaps they should be locked up.

@Greg: That was not the headline when you linked to it, which is why the lawyer is demanding preservation. It was quite a bit shorter article Said the kids had surrounded and were harassing the tiny Maytag tribe.
See many have screenshot the articles and sent them to the Lawyer that offered the boys free legal services.
Like your memory the article has been heavily edited.
So did the media intentionally lie to you and the nation? Causing the Youngsters great harm? I dont remember it mentioning the Cult, at that time. It did said the boys were chanting build the wall at Dances with fridges, the Vietnam Veteran.

The young man said he purchased his hat in DC on his trip, his Parents did not dress him up and send him to DC with it, even if they did only your media makes a baseball cap offensive by telling you it is, it is no more offensive than an I’m with her t-shirt.

@kitt:

So did the media intentionally lie to you and the nation?

I’ve asked Greg if it would be a bad thing if the media lied to the citizens. He can’t bring himself to answer.

@Deplorable Me: The last thread there were cowards refusing to see reality of the media manipulation and that they were willing victims.

@Deplorable Me:

Greggie Gullible said:

Yeah, right. Try standing and staring fixedly at some angry adult back home in Kentucky with that expression on your face and see what happens.

First, he has no idea what would happen in Kentucky. He’s a yankee and doesn’t understand Southerners.

But Greggie does prove out Orwell:

“To wear an improper expression on your face (to look incredulous when a victory was announced, for example) was itself a punishable offense. There was even a word for it in Newspeak: facecrime, it was called.”

George Orwell 1984

What was once fiction has now become reality on the left’s march to “Progressivism.”

Greg you said “I still donā€™t think parents ought to be sticking Trump hats on their kids heads and taking them to political demonstrations.”

So what should someone put on their heads at a “political demonstration”? Eat at Joe’s hats? Pink fuzzy hats ok? Just not those you disagree with.

1st ammendment anyone.

@Deplorable Me, #6:

How do you know their parents had them wear the hats? Based on the behavior of those kids at the Capital, I would say they are very intelligent and quite capable of forming their own points of view.

Of course you would. No doubt they figured out on their own that Donald Trump’s words, policies and lifelong personal behavior are the very embodiment of Catholic moral principles and traditional American family values, so they all decided to go out buy Trump hats for their trip to DC.

@Greg: What, exactly, does anything Trump has ever said have to do with some grown adults screaming racist and homophobic slurs at some kids and a professional protester threatening them by beating a drum in their faces?

In case you are wondering, YOUR ATTITUDE is what is wrong with America today. You justify violent behavior against anyone, including children to serve a political purpose. Denouncing violence would serve to discourage and reduce it, but the let wants violence to spread. And children are not off limits.

This follows your barbaric attitudes towards murdering unwanted children. Something to be really proud of.

@Greg: Melania is a Catholic, that may have something to with his change of heart on abortion.

@Deplorable Me:

Of course you would. No doubt they figured out on their own that Donald Trumpā€™s words, policies and lifelong personal behavior are the very embodiment of Catholic moral principles and traditional American family values, so they all decided to go out buy Trump hats for their trip to DC.

Greg is quite insane, one minute he doesnt want religion to control the public sphere. He is now an expert on Catholic dogma and how to raise children with his vast knowledge. Wonder if he knows the FLOTUS is Catholic.

The caps were bought in D.C., not prior to the trip.

And your disdain for Catholics is duly noted. What slugs you Socialists are.

@Deplorable Me, #13:

I haven’t noticed that right-leaning media has provided much coverage of the recent convictions of three men who were preparing to commit an act of domestic terrorism. Likewise, Cesar Sayoc has been forgotten entirely. Articles such as this one are dismissed out of hand:

All of the extremist killings in the US in 2018 had links to right-wing extremism, according to new report

Yet the right has been fixated for over two weeks on the outrage of an old man beating a drum in the face of a staring kid wearing a Trump hat, which apparently demonstrates the left’s violent behavior.

I should take such a conclusion seriously?

@kitt:

Greg is quite insane, one minute he doesnt want religion to control the public sphere. He is now an expert on Catholic dogma and how to raise children with his vast knowledge.

Yet, Greggie The Idiot admitted he doesn’t have any children.

@retire05:

Greggie The Idiot admitted he doesnā€™t have any children.

What a relief, the village wouldnt allow him to breed.

And yet I somehow am not filled to overflowing with anger, bitterness, resentment, and hostility, and feel no compulsion to try to say hurtful things to others…

One should try not become entangled in negativity. Life is too short.

@Greg: liar….. future frat boy, thats how you described the young man you didnt know.
If your God must always agree with you, you worship yourself.
But the thread you so willingly twist to the whipping boy from a Catholic school is about the Media. Both cable and social, you have an inability to admit they lie over and over they lie then they lie about lying, then they twist the narrative, so they can lie some more.

@Greg:

All of the extremist killings in the US in 2018 had links to right-wing extremism, according to new report

Struck out on the first one; Parkland. Cruz was right wing? Really? He was bullied by left wing entitled whiny-babies, true, which played a part in driving him towards revenge, but “right wing”. You and your biased media are truly desperate.

Yet the right has been fixated for over two weeks on the outrage of an old man beating a drum in the face of a staring kid wearing a Trump hat, which apparently demonstrates the leftā€™s violent behavior.

Um… it was the LEFT that fixated on these kids once they had doctored the videos enough to support their narrative… not the right. The Right is concentrating on the irresponsibility of the left to endanger the lives of these innocent kids for the sake of making some vague, oblique liberal point. The discussion is also about how the dishonest, corrupt left got caught inventing an incident and lying extensively about it and, when caught, not having the GUTS to admit their error. Not having the dignity and self respect to admit the error only assures the left will continue their policy of lying and, when caught, cover with another lie. You can’t even declare if the media were to lie it would be bad.

One should try not become entangled in negativity. Life is too short.

Your entire ideology is based on negativity. You cannot promote it on its positive attributes for there are none; you have to spread the lies about the opposition (as was the case of the Covington students) to try and show them to be lower than you. It ain’t working.

Your entire ideology is based on negativity.

Trump’s entire campaign was based on negativity and personal attacks, directed in turn on anyone in “his own” party that got in his way, and then on his Democratic Party opponents. He does the same with any person or institution that dares to openly criticize him. He has turned the GOP into a depressing reflection of himself. Their avowed guiding principles now have nothing to do with their actual real-world agenda.

Read back through the posts on this thread and tell me where the negativity can be found. Can you find any positive comments at all, or any substantive, constructive discussion?

@Deplorable Me: The extremists all seem to be white? Really? Or are all killings by whites just called extemist and the left mentally ill? they come up with 50 people killed, mostly of jewish faith
When MS13 gang members kill its quaintly called an anecdote.
When blacks kill blacks it is called gun violence.
12 Americans a day on average are killed by illegal aliens thats just a statistic crime.
Fear mongering against whites, and the worst white men.

@Greg:

Trumpā€™s entire campaign was based on negativity and personal attacks, directed in turn on anyone in ā€œhis ownā€ party that got in his way, and then on his Democratic Party opponents.

No it wasn’t. It was a campaign of promise of prosperity and growth for all Americans, restoration of the military and national security and a resolution of the illegal immigration and border security problem. Now, the fact that all these tenets are diametrically opposed to what Democrats have provided and offered may seem “negative” to YOU, but to most Americans is was a hopeful and positive message.

With the economy growing and GOOD jobs being provided, unemployment for blacks, Hispanics and women, as well as all Americans, falling and wages growing, Trump is fulfilling his promises, only falling short where Democrats block initiatives for the sake of blockage.

Read back through the posts on this thread and tell me where the negativity can be found. Can you find any positive comments at all, or any substantive, constructive discussion?

I am positive you and the rest of the left promote lies, division and violence. You prove it every day. You’ve proved it on this topic (the accusations against the Covington kids) and promote it by denying the truth.
