The Point Everyone Is Missing About The Wuhan Lab Leak Theory

By Scott Hounsell

As I have been writing about the Wuhan lab leak theory and NIH/NIAID funding of gain-of-function research over the last few weeks, I’ve become extremely familiar with the players involved in this type of research and with the Wuhan Institute of Virology specifically. Most of them are scientists who are deeply regarded by many to be the smartest people on the face of the planet. Many of those names, however, were relatively unknown until Sen. Rand Paul began pushing for an additional look at whether or not this virus was accidentally released from the WIV.

Many of those people are publicly defending China and outright rejecting any possibility that this pandemic could have been the result of a lab leak, defending Dr. Shi Zhengli.

For instance, Dr. Ralph Baric, who up until a few weeks ago had stayed out of questioning the source of the virus, joined over a dozen other viral experts in the world in a letter calling for additional investigation into the accidental Wuhan Lab Release theory. The group cited the lack of transparency by both China and the WHO, and the inability to reproduce analyses due to China’s refusal to produce source data:

Notably, WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus commented that the report’s consideration of evidence supporting a laboratory accident was insufficient and offered to provide additional resources to fully evaluate the possibility.

We must take hypotheses about both natural and laboratory spillovers seriously until we have sufficient data. A proper investigation should be transparent, objective, data-driven, inclusive of broad expertise, subject to independent oversight, and responsibly managed to minimize the impact of conflicts of interest. Public health agencies and research laboratories alike need to open their records to the public. Investigators should document the veracity and provenance of data from which analyses are conducted and conclusions drawn, so that analyses are reproducible by independent experts.

There are still other scientists who claim there is no way this virus came from the lab, including Dr. Peter Daszek, the President of EcoHealth Alliance, who has not only performed studies at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in conjunction with Dr. Shi Zhengli but has been the funnel by which NIH (US Taxpayer) funds have been given to the WIV for these potentially dangerous GoF experiments.

Also coming to the defense of the WIV and Dr. Shi is Dr. Jonna A. Mazet, an American Epidemiologist and global director of PREDICT, which, as we have previously covered, is the organization that has teamed up with EcoHealth Alliance to fund GoF research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.  In fact, Mazet’s defense almost solely relies on the testimony of Dr. Shi.  Dr. Shi has been adamant that the virus did not originate at her lab.

But there’s one question the MSM (and as a result, almost everyone else) has avoided with Dr. Shi’s denial:

What choice does Dr. Shi have, but to deny a lab leak?

Certainly, the potential exists that this was a zoonotic (natural mutation) event. It can be reliably scientifically proven that the original SARS outbreak was a zoonotic event; however, the definitive nature of this reporting was not 100% confirmed until 2017, 14 years after the original outbreak.  Meanwhile, Chinese officials allegedly had the SARS-CoV-2 source figured out in a matter of weeks. To believe their claim, however, is to assume that the virus came from a cave 900 miles from the outbreak point in Wuhan, infecting not a single soul between the two points.

Yet, when we talk about Dr. Shi’s vehement assertions that the virus didn’t come from her lab, we are relying upon a literal employee of the Chinese Government. While everyone may be able to vouch for the intent behind Dr. Shi’s statements, none of these people would ever be able to argue that Dr. Shi’s testimony could be honest if the virus did originate at the lab.

The Bee offers the following :
After President Biden instructed U.S. intelligence to increase their efforts in discovering the origins of COVID-19, city officials of Wuhan gathered together to try to understand the sudden interest in their wonderful city again.

“We have seen the statements made by President Biden and we are completely blown away as to why the skepticism has arisen again in the origins of this deadly virus” stated interim Wuhan mayor Zhao Po-Ding. “All we have been is completely forthright in these matters and have definitely not hidden any wrongdoing by suppressing the news coming out of our city and country.”

Another official quickly pointed out that this all could be stemming from the recently installed sign outside of a local Wuhan lab that reads “Birthplace of Covid” in large print.

Frequent Wuhan lab visitor and top U.S. infectious disease expert Dr. Fauci is now questioning the origin of the virus after seeing the newly erected sign. “I saw it and began to think that it’s possible it could have started there, I mean I don’t want to jump to conclusions because the sign clearly only says it’s the ‘birthplace of COVID’. That could really mean anything,” stated a perplexed Fauci. “It’s definitely something I would send a young intern that I wouldn’t care about seeing again to further investigate.”

Wuhan officials quickly moved to take the sign down and replace it with a new one simply stating “Nothing to see here, please move along.”

[W]e need to be honest about the fact that Shi may be under the thumb of Chinese government officials who have every motivation in the world to cover up that the virus came from her lab and that Dr. Shi’s life literally hangs in the balance of her cooperation with Chinese government officials.
If the virus came from her lab, she could never say so.

Wasn’t there a doctor, or researcher in Wuhan who tried to speak out early in the outbreak but died, supposedly of covid 19?

Dr Li, 34, tried to send a message to fellow medics about the outbreak at the end of December, 2019. Three days later police paid him a visit and told him to stop.
……
Four days later he was summoned to the Public Security Bureau where he was told to sign a letter. In the letter he was accused of “making false comments” that had “severely disturbed the social order”.

“We solemnly warn you: If you keep being stubborn, with such impertinence, and continue this illegal activity, you will be brought to justice – is that understood?” Underneath in Dr Li’s handwriting is written: “Yes, I do.”

He was one of eight people who police said were being investigated for “spreading rumours”.
((Shades of Jon Cena!!!))

Altho he got sick, his tests kept coming back negative for covid-19.
By Feb 5th he was dead.

Is it too far-fetched to believe someone responsible for the leak of a pandemic might lie to protect themselves? This is like asking idiot Biden if he was aware of Hunter’s corrupt business deals, something Hunter’s emails confirm is absolutely true. Of course, she has a reliable ally in the Democrats. They’re all on the same team, even if for different reasons.

There is no argument about where the virus came from except due to politics, and Democrats have politicized every aspect of this tragic crisis. They opposed Trump’s initial responses, then accused him of not doing anything. They opposed cheap, readily available, effective treatments because they wanted the effects of the epidemic to be worse and they wanted to denigrate anything Trump said. They denounced the vaccines as inherently dangerous because Trump was driving the effort to develop them and now mandate everyone receive them. They supported ineffective shutdowns so they could justify throwing trillions of dollars at a problem that would largely solve itself if only Trump’s vibrant economy would be fully reopened.

They opposed the concept that the Wuhan virus originated in the Wuhan Institute of Virology as crazy talk because they didn’t want anything to distract from every effect of the Wuhan virus being blamed solely on Trump. Also, now that they wield power, if shown (rather, admitted, since it is already known) that China unleashed the virus and, with the aid of the WHO, lied about it, idiot Biden might have to do something that does against his and his family’s personal financial interests. He might have to form and show a spine. In other words, “Nuh-uh. It ain’t happening.”
