File this under politics makes strange bedfellows.Former President Donald Trump’s steamy battle with past porn star Stormy Daniels is finally over. Now she owes him nearly $300,000 in attorney fees, Trump claims, as a result of her losing bid to keep her defamation suit alive.
Trump challenged the media to report the outcome with many outlets ignoring his wish. But this win comes as the former president, said to be mulling a comeback in 2024, faces other legal troubles.
For today, he’s celebrating.
“As I have stated many times throughout the years, I never had an affair with Stormy Daniels, nor would I ever have wanted to. The ruling was a total and complete victory and vindication for, and of me,” Trump said in a statement from his 45 Office email account.
“The lawsuit was a purely political stunt that never should have been started, or allowed to happen, and I am pleased that my lawyers were able to bring it to a successful conclusion after the court fully rejected her appeal. Now all I have to do is wait for all of the money she owes me,” he added.

“P.S. The Fake News probably won’t report this story!” Trump added in the statement.Michael Avenatti pushed Stormy Daniels to bring this lawsuit for his own private interest, not hers. She was always exposed to this risk of having to pay huge lawyers’ fees — California’s defamation law has a provision that punishes those who bring lawsuits to reduce public participation in political debate, and Daniels walked right into this judgment for $300,000 by brining the suit in California.
And Avenatti told her to do that.
Not only did he steal the money she was owed for her book, but he also saddled her with $300,000 in lawyers’ fees for a suit that never should have been brought, just so he’d have something to talk about with Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper on CNN.
