Republicans in Congress accused the Biden administration of waging an “open war on pro-life activists” Wednesday after the FBI raided the homes of several pro-life protesters this fall.
In a letter to the FBI, U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, said Americans are losing trust in the Democrat administration because of its unfair treatment of pro-life advocates, many of whom have been victims of violence in recent months, Fox News reports.
“I am outraged by the Biden administration’s open war on pro-life activists and weaponization of federal law enforcement against patriotic Americans for their beliefs,” Roy told Fox News Digital in a statement.
He and three dozen other Republican lawmakers accused the Biden administration of using federal law enforcement as a weapon against political opponents while ignoring numerous acts of arson, vandalism and other violence against pro-life organizations and churches in recent months.
“… these abuses of federal power against pro-life Americans based solely on their beliefs undermine the American people’s trust in the FBI,” they wrote.
The lawmakers pointed out that neither the FBI nor the Department of Justice have confirmed any prosecutions in response to more than 72 violent attacks on pregnancy resource centers and 80 on Catholic Churches since May when someone leaked a draft ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court abortion case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.
However, the FBI has been going after pro-life advocates. The Republicans’ letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray accused the federal agency of prosecuting pro-life activists like Mark Houck and an 87-year-old concentration camp survivor for trying to save babies from abortion.
Approximately a dozen pro-life advocates recently were charged under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) and could be punished with up to 11 years in prison. Most were charged for participating in a March 2021 sit-in at an abortion facility in Tennessee when they sat in the hallway, sang hymns and prayed for unborn babies and mothers.
“These are not federal law enforcement matters and represent an abuse of the FACE Act,” the Republican lawmakers wrote.
They continued, “The recent rise in high-profile FBI investigations into pro-life Americans raises well-founded concerns that the FBI has amassed too much power and has become a partisan cudgel wielded by the Biden Administration at the behest of progressive activists against political opponents and dissenters.”
The lawmakers asked Wray to provide documents about FBI investigations of alleged FACE Act violations within the past three years as well as its investigations into attacks on pro-life organizations and churches this year.
The crime wave has many pro-life organizations increasing security and Republican lawmakers demanding action from the Biden administration to crack down on the growing domestic terrorism. But, while the Biden administration has been aggressively working to expand the killing of unborn babies in abortions, it has done little to stop the violence and hostilities directed at pro-life advocates and churches.
In July, U.S. House Democrats even blocked a resolution condemning the violence against pro-life organizations and churches.
By the LifeNews count, more than 100 pro-life organizations, pregnancy centers, churches and individuals have been victims of arson, vandalism, theft, harassment and threats since the Dobbs leak.
Reports since May include:
We have truly entered the realm of the totalitarian police state where “enemies of the state” (those who disagree with far left ideology) are targeted by the government while terrorists are allowed to attack them with impunity.
So how long before Biden has Right to Life raided or some Church who’s Revant speaks out against Abortion
